My FE2 Suggestions (Part 1)

    fe2 needs to add a spectate counter man, the amount of suspense it will build. my dream update for real

    These are some suggestions that I really want to see in the game, since the mechanics such as leveling are already a slog to go through. Anyway, I've cooked up a view of my own ideas since last time:
    NPCs: Creators would be able to animate the NPCs to do certain things. They could have them just attempt to flee the flood as you are running above them in order to add immersion, or they can make them have an active role (i.e: a bandit trying to shoot you in the background riding a zipline or a hooded figure pulling a level to progress any potential story of the map).
    Perks: I feel like this would go well with a potential better leveling system. Anyway, these would have to be really small changes to your character and be toggle-able by CM creators in order to not make the game completely unbalanced (i.e: your screen would usually be blurred underwater, but a certain perk may remove that)
    Fragile platforms: Platforms that are solid when you walk or jump on them, but break upon airdiving onto them.
    Mirage Saloon mechanics: You know the jump pads and cannons used in that map, just add them in as mechanics. This would make coding for them for map creators much simpler, as it would prob take as much time as making a wall jump, and they should be able to be customized to better suit the theme of the map.
    Non-Liquid hazards: You might be able to see these in some maps, such as the barrels that explode in Harbor Junction. These could work well with the NPCs, as I said with the bandits.
    Zipline grinding: You can see this in sonic and some Tria maps: you jump on top of a zipline, and you tilt your character in order to avoid hazards and/or hit buttons. Speaking of ziplines...
    Custom animations: This may sound like a pain, but it might be cool if it's implemented. These could be animations while you are on a zipline, sliding, or airdiving. If you have to airdive into the water for a swimming section, may aswell do it in style :P

      NPCs sound like such a cool addition. Reminds me of, well, Guts and Blackpowder. The only thing I would say is an NPC limit as a ton of NPCs would definitely lag the game pretty badly. Other than that, it would be REALLY cool to see NPCs in maps.
      Perks I would stray away from, as like you said they would have to be very minimal additions, IMO they would have to be so minimal it wouldn't be worth it.
      Fragile platforms would definitely make Air diving more unique. In Part 2 I will propose a rework to Air Diving as I'm focusing more on mechanics in Part 2, and that would be a great addition.
      Non-liquid hazards would also be cool, can't really add anything to that.
      Zipline grinding would be really cool, but at that point it would just be a new mechanic, which may as well be SA2's rail grinding. I would like to see TRIA's zipline switching and moving side to side though. Can't really comment on the custom animations but I guess they could be nice?
      Edit: Forgot about MS mechanics, they should 100% become official features in addition to unique gimmicks from future Highlights.

    My suggestions :
    1. Tutorial
    -You probably know what it means by now, it helps new players who do not know the game at all to learn the games basic mechanics and tips.
    2. Highlights Gamemode
    -People are EXTREMELY mad at Crazy for not adding the highlight they want, so why face the drama when you can add a mode to include all of them? I know it would overflow after a while but seeing a highlighted map you really liked go from the game is really devastating.
    3. Buff Pro Servers Requirement/ Master Servers
    -Crazyblox can buff the pro servers requirement so it would make you like beat 2 crazy maps and reach level 40 or something OR he can make a new servers for true pros who always have to deal with the other noobs in pro servers, but the requirement might be like 1 rebirth and every crazy map, so it would take a while.
    4. New Agilities
    -Ziplines and Sliding were once hated very much by the community when it was just added, but they got used to it over time. My idea is to make like a new agility like a glideable walljump, basically a normal walljump except you glide down the longer you stay on it.

      I am considering doing fan suggestions in later parts to this series, so I might write a few of these down.
      1. I would like to see a tutorial. While FE2 isn't the most confusing game out there, I do see a few people saying "HOW TO SLIDE" in chat, which a tutorial could clear up.
      2. This could fit into the Custom VIP Servers gamemode but a Highlight-only gamemode would be really cool too. I miss lots of Highlights :(
      3. I don't think Master servers are necessary but I do agree with stricter Pro Server requirements. Maybe Level 50 again OR at least 1 Crazy Map as well as all Insanes.
      4. I will definitely be talking about new agility mechanics in Part 2!

    Really cool suggestions, also thanks for including mine :)
    I have some of my own suggestions:
    1. A map event that makes the player solo a map, it would be nice to have something like this considering that normally the players always rely on others to do all the work, it could also give the solo bonus XP for it.
    2. Team based competition/leaderboard just for glory, no exclusive tanks or anything, just for fun. The competition would last about a week or two, and based on the teams' progress they could get a temporary XP/currency earning boost for about a day or two. The teams' progress part could be some sort of inside a team feature where players would grind to reach some sort of reward, it wouldn't be easy but it could make players have something more to do in the game besides just playing the maps over and over for no reward or incentive.
    3. I would personally take highlights and make them a separate lift where you could play them if you wanted, instead of forcing everyone to play them each time they show up in the voting menu, it would cycle difficulties the same way as they do in chill mode and you would be able to earn the badges as long as you beat the maps. Besides players who only want to play new maps would be much happier this way, they wouldn't be mad when prevotes pick a map they dont wanna play, after they dumped all their gems on boosts.
    4. I would also lower the amount of map event types there are, but in exchange for that i would buff the difficulty of the challenges by a bit to make up for it. The rewards would stay the same and the 2nd set of challenges would cost the same to cycle too. And as Ducky said in the video, combine map event specific challenges into 1 challenge. (this might need more detail but for now i think it's good enough).
    Some minor changes/fixes that would be nice to get:
    1. a fix for the poisonous forest 0 XP bug.
    2. improvements for shop item selection/searching, either make it stop resetting to the top each time or have it separated into pages (20 items per page), and perhaps a search bar which would help find the specific item so that you wouldn't have to scroll through the whole inventory looking for it.
    3. Map voting skip where players can choose to skip the map voting process when they are playing in VIP servers. Another option alongside skipping would be to 'pick random map' (if you have all maps access gamepass it could pick any map that isn't on cooldown, if you don't, it would pick one of the 3 maps that are free.
    4. Automatic spectator switch when a player you are spectating dies.
    I think that'll do for now, I can probably work my brain way more and come up with more stuff that could be useful. Some of these might work well alongside ducky's ideas too.

      You're welcome. I'm considering fan suggestions for future parts to this series, so I might borrow some of these.
      1. This event would be really cool. I assume you would be able to see other players but the buttons would be tied to a local script? (client sided, not server sided)
      2. I love the idea but instead I would go for a shorter gamemode that lasts for like 15-30 minutes or something. I feel like I would get bored if it was multiple weeks long.
      3. I've seen a lot of suggestions for a Highlight-only gamemode but a Highlight-only lift would be amazing. I don't personally mind the Highlights appearing alongside the main maps but I can see the potential in it.
      4. Can't really comment on this one.
      For the minor fixes:
      1. Its never getting fixed, lets be real
      2. This is one I will be including in Part 2 for sure
      3 and 4 are definitely QoL additions I want to see

    I don't agree with all of these but these are still pretty cool ideas :D
    Heres some of mine:
    #1: Change the UI back to how it was before v58 (i just really liked how it looked)
    #2: Make Crazy+ its own difficulty
    #3: Lobby themes gamepass that lets you change the lobby music (there could be some exclusive to certain gamemodes like in normal mode you can change it to the 2017 lobby OST or in pro mode you can play the 2019 pro lobby music)
    #4: add the ability to activate other events on maps in FE2CM (except mirror obviously)
    #5: bring back the old loading system (basically how it was before v59.2 i think)
    #6: add a toggle for the FPS cap
    #7: add a little indicator on emotes in the shop that tells you if the emote plays a sound (idk i just think it would be cool)
    #8: make the minimum intensity 3 in pro servers
    #9: make rescue missions on crazy/crazy+ maps give 3 gems instead of 2
    These are just a few random things that i thought would make the game a little better :)

      1) Can get behind this
      2) I do agree with this, however I feel like we need at least 1 more permanent Crazy+ first otherwise it would just be Blue Moon and Poisonous Chasm being the only Crazy options.
      3) I want to see this, but not in gamepass form. Instead the music would be toggleable in the settings and the 2019 Pro Lobby would come back.
      4) I've wanted Lost Pages to get CM support like Rescues did for SO LONG. I could live without the other Events though.
      5) Same - no clue what the loading system solved, all it did was desync the music a little which threw me off on AVM and DS
      6) One can dream, right?
      7) Could be a part of a wider shop rework - something I will talk about in a future part.
      8) I could personally live without this but I understand why you want it
      9) I would say 3 for Crazy, 5 for Crazy+

    2:55 perfect map example for this: Mirage Saloon... Since the button before the cannons uses the exploding buttons mechanic all the time

    You're suggestions are very nice! I believe I agree with you on most of them, however, I think a better option, instead of removing exploding buttons completely, it could only be removed in AVM. And since we only got 4 events now, we could come creative and add more events. I would also like to see more agility updates (Although I heard it has been confirmed by Crazyblox there wont be :c ) still, adding moving walljumps, custom buttons, etc, would be very nice to see on FE2. I have also thought on the addition of "Skills" in the shop, such as more air, speed boost (some seconds) and more. By the addition of Skills (if they even get added) We would need more crazy and crazy+ maps (as only 2 and 7 would be too low IMO.) Crazyblox could take some highlighted maps and make them permanent.

      If Crazyblox insisted on keeping the Exploding Buttons Event, I would want to see the following things:
      1) Remove the buff on Crazy, it can easily kill you in any Crazy Map if your connection isn't great
      2) Ban certain buttons (eg: AVM Button 4) from being Exploding Buttons
      3) Double Button XP during the Event
      I would love to see new Agility Mechanics as well (Part 2), new buttons and the rest. Skills is a no for me, as it would be impossible to balance (especially given that maps are not designed around the concept).

    Honestly, i enjoy the explosive buttons feature, its a *blast* in some maps especially, the gameplay is much more fun on ds i feel like when the explosive buttons event is on

    My own suggestions are:
    1.the fact that events can mixed such as: fog + mirror with a probability of 1% to appear
    2.adding New buttons like a fake buttons or a hold button
    3.add cinemátics bars as liquid breakout
    4.add New events like
    Time trial: the players Will have a estimated time to complete the map
    Hidden explosive button: one of the map buttons is Hidden explosive
    Timekeeper: players Will have a time which they can increase if they touch the especial button (not apply to crazy +)

      1. This wouldn't be such a bad idea, I would only have it in the game if my Event Rework was added.
      2. Fake buttons would be annoying, although I have seen a few people suggest the hold button and it isn't the worst idea in the world.
      3. Not really sure what you mean by this.
      4. Time trial isn't really necessary as that's the point of the flood.
      The Hidden Explosive button could be a decent replacement to Exploding Buttons as long as its properly balanced.
      Timekeeper is a very cool idea but I feel like it should be a "secret" button that just appears in some maps, not tied to an event.

      4. I would see the hidden explosive button as a variant, not a replacement as such, the idea is that only one button is explosive and that it is random
      The timekeeper could be linked to a secret lost page, secret rescue or another mission and could only appear in easy, normal and hard
      Here I make a suggestion that an exclusive emblem be added for those people who complete all the highlights in a year, I don't know what you think?

    a quality of life feature i would want in fe2 is the "auto walljump" feature from lb, also nice video!
    (btw avm's 4th button being explosive has to be illegal)

    I actually really like your idea of a map database. There would finally be more use for lost pages, which I fully support (and is also an excuse for lost pages to appear more often ;)). When I first heard of lost pages, I actually thought they would be used for stuff besides xp and badges. This was one of the ways I (sort of) thought the lost page would do, give information basically. I also liked the other suggestions, but even though I dont play terraria, this feature stood out the most to me.

    These are good suggestions and I hope Crazyblox gets to use them. I also have a suggestion and that’s for a lobby rework. The lobby doesn't have to be completely revamped, but at least add some more cool things/agilities aside from just wall jumps and a pool to swim in.

    Another minor suggestion i would give would be a separate pool for crazy + maps. If no ones survives a c+ the whole intensity system is messed up which leads to no one boosting thinking only c+ will get voted and that no one will survive them.
    Also for pro servers requirements, remove the daily req as it is useless and really rng. I remember spending half an hour trying to get a daily for pro servers. Really time consuming.
    Instead of having all insanes as a requirement, make the requirement all crazies. If you cant beat avm theres no way u can beat a c+. Since the level req is gone the pro servers have doomed.

      This is something I do want, but only when (or if) we get more permanent Crazy+ Maps. For now I'm okay with it being in the Crazy difficulty.
      I think all Crazy maps is a bit extreme for Pro Servers, but I do agree with making the requirements harsher. At least one Crazy Map, maybe a few.

    My suggestion for event system is event voting and adding more events.
    The same thing as map voting but you vote for events. Events, like maps, will have a cooldown and events that are buyable (unlockable, not on cooldown anymore) will be pretty expensive (based on how deadly or helpful the event is) so some rich dude wont keep back to back unlocking events like mirror or exploding buttons.

      I like this suggestion, but I would tweak it a bit.
      1) You could vote any event for free, but can't spend Coins to unlock or vote again
      2) This would only be added if my Event Rework suggestion was added, otherwise there would be 0 reason to want an Event other than the Rescue Mission (unless you have Daily Challenges)
      3) This would also require Map Events to be hard-coded to spawn every other round, but thats for technical stuff only

    Dude i remember suffering in chill mode begging everyone to play sky sanctuary just for my last single lost page.. now i just approach them like some free exp and take them since theyre only on the lower half of maps and fallen.

      Yes. Lost Pages are free XP provided you know where they are.

    cool video, here are my takes
    i agree on everything you said about the map events, however for fog i think the easier maps should be foggier than crazy maps because the punishment isnt as high as in the harder maps (also fog distance between difficulties shouldnt be too big)
    badge rewards are interesting, the rewards could be better for highlight badges aswell which i think could potentially increase the hype for highlights
    new intensity system seems nice but i definitely think the harder maps should still have a bit more punishment but require less players to beat the maps perhaps? i think another way the intensity system could be changed is that maps have less punishment (for example, if 100% of the server beats a crazy, the intensity system still goes down to insane which is just questionable), aswell as make boosts slightly worse (and capped faster) -- aswell, the chaos servers could probably just keep the current system lol
    flexible map times is a good idea and probably the easiest change out of the ones here maybe
    lost pages could also fit in crazy maps, maybe in parts where people can wait for buttons -- some lost pages could also get reworked and be more interactive or harder to find so its more fun, an example is wild savannah lost page, retro coast (who would expect a lost page there lol), flood island and maybe others -- even ssh has a secret where you can click the lever behind spawn, which reveals a ladder that lets you climb the spawn tower, where a possible lost page could be located -- if this was done, lost pages could also have even better rewards and maybe something extra like just more currencies or even pieces of lore to make them more thrilling idk (which could be located in the lost page menu) --- highlights should also have lost pages tbh but i dont know how it could work --- lost pages could maybe fit in crazy+ maps aswell however itd likely take a sacrifice to get which might get a problem if they do get added at first but itd calm down later on ---- perhaps lost pages could only appear after you beat the map normally
    i love the map database idea, i think itd take quite a while but itd be amazing

      I actually considered flipping the thickness of Thick Fog as Crazy Maps do require you to sightread them quickly, but at the same time I don't feel like Thick Fog should be harder on easier difficulties? Its a very difficult choice to make but now that I'm reconsidering it, flipping it might be better.
      For the Intensity system, higher difficulties are more punishing by default because they are harder, meaning less people survive. The "difficulty" influence on the Intensity just amplifies it even more.
      I've always wanted Lost Pages within CM as its nice to add secrets in maps - Lost Pages feel natural. However, I think Crazy Maps cannot support Lost Pages as they are too strict to allow for any exploration. Insane Maps are pushing it but I feel like you can just about get away with it.

      Yeah true, I did forget to mention Chill Mode in detail but in most cases it would be at most a 5 second time increase. The spreadsheet I mentioned also suggests specific max time changes for Chill Mode.

    Personally, i would love to see a thing where exploding buttons work like group, you can add them to some of ur buttons with a value in fe2cm, and then the buttons that explode maybe have a red button locator instead, and honestly keep exploding and random just give them rewards, and make it so some buttons CANT explode. And ur difficulty intensity system i gotta disagree with. People even in pro servers ALWAYS die on even lower end maps, it would be a constand insane-hard loop bc of most of the server dying

      I mean, 2 boosts is still pretty powerful and it would guarantee +0.5 Intensity per round during the worst case scenario that everyone dies.
      Group Exploding Buttons are also possible, you just add the fuse and group value to a button in Studio.

    I love these suggestions so much I can guarantee you these would single handedly fix and revive the game, I got a little nostalgia from watching this so bonus points. I hate the fact so much crazyblox is likely not going to add these because hes lazy and hell and doesn't know whats good for his game, I want these added so badly AND THIS IS ONLY PART ONE HOLY

      Removing timelines isn't feasible due to security reasons. I think the other idea could work though? (I'm not that knowledgeable so don't take it as the truth)
