After watching The Untamed and MDZS thousands of times I just realize something that maybe was obvious but I didnt catch because I was mesmerized by the plot and story, and is that Wei Ying was actually alcoholic since 16 and probably before that age. That shocked me, he was constantly drinking almost every episode and it was propably because of what he had to endure during childhood. Losing your parents, living with someone that doesnt want you there , being constantly criticized, then losing your family again, the most close person to him and everybody blaming him, giving up his golder core, knowing he will never use his sword again, being thrown away into a mountain of corpses, the black magic whispering him continuously. Whem everyone saw him as the worst thing in the world. And all that came after that and he finally died. He was always drinking, trying to forget all the stuff he has suffered basically alone. No one seem to care or noticed the fact he lost his parents at young age, neither he lost his family again. Jiang Cheng was the most understandable, but at the same time, Wei Ying was suffering inside.
You're right; at first, it seems funny that he likes to drink, but in fact he needs to drink to allow all the sad memories of his childhood and later, of his first life.
True. I personally don't like Jiang Cheng blame wei ying for everything just like her mother and lose a true friend / brother because of his jealousy and inferiority complex
I really love love the drama Untamed and the leads. Their acting esp #xiaozhan is totally mesmerising. Although #wangyibo may not have many talking scenes but his expression conveyed is really heartening with always a tinge of sadness as the drama unfolds.This is one unforgettable time where we are rooting for them off screen too and hope they will always have each other and each other' s backs.i dont think I have love any Chinese drama so much that I would watch again and again while studying the each scene after reading everyone' s input about the novel and the drama etc
Why do I just sink more and more, in to MDZS world as the time passes? The story is so capable that you can look at it as a sweet romance and both a heartbreaking chain of sad things.
