You guys were completely in the ZEN. Driving a Model A on a beautiful scenic drive with your partner in crime and meet up with your extended Model A family. Not much more to add other then a prime rib dinner. Glad you had a safe trip!
It was soooooo zen!
I have a 29 , sport coupe that my late wife and I would tour in. I have not had the car out in 2 and 1/2 years , Its not the same when you are alone , YOU ARE A BLESSED MAN !! enjoy every minute with her.
I am very sorry, Richard. Your words fall on appreciative ears. I will do as you say.
The country was beyond magnificent. The biggest take away for me was the absolute confidence this trip showed that you have in your Model A. The video shows mile after mile after mile of empty country. You were in the middle of nowhere for most of the trip. Probably no cell service most of the way. Wow! I am so impressed. Thank you for taking us along.
Absolutely! No cell service for many miles. Peace and quiet! A well sorted Model A is rock-solid reliable. Drive it anywhere, no fear.
Sometimes I hop in my Mustang and go for what I call my serenity drives...I never turn on the radio..all I want to hear is the car purring along. Lots of pretty drives here in Colorado too. Thanks for posting. Take care you two.
Me too!!!! Great minds... right?
That was a nice scenic drive through the mountains to Lake Tahoe and Virginia City. When I was young my dad had a 1965 Volkswagen Beetle that had only about 40 horsepower, which is same as the Model A Ford. I can remember traveling with him up to Grand Canyon National Park in the Volkswagen. As the road started to get steep he had to downshift from 4th to 3d gear. Then road got even more steep and the car slowed down to where my father downshifted to second gear. In a car with low horsepower this makes for a more enjoyable, slower and relaxing ride. In the mountains I am sure the Mitchell Overdrive is useful, because it results in 6 speeds forward instead of 3 speeds forward. This gives a better range of gears for the slope of the road going uphill and downhill.
VW is a lighter car, but a Model A has a lot more torque, even though still 40 HP, so probably pretty similar!
Hi, thanks for taking us along for the ride!! Such beautiful scenery, and excellent camera work by Model T!! Your car runs so well, what a pleasure it must be to drive!! I'm pulling the leaky radiator out of my 29 phaeton, can't wait to have it back together ,and get it on the road!! ( Drive it like I know how to fix it!!) Thanks again!!
It is a sweet driving car! I still need to adjust the lifters to quiet it down. One of these days...
Those cars passed you like they had somewhere to be. Harumph. Whippersnappers.
Everyone drives like they are being chased by the mob.
I like your camera tripod. She works really well.
I have to keep reminding her to breathe
Thank you for just letting me hear the engine, music to my ears!!!
Just for you, Andy!
Thanks to you and Tina for that most beautiful drive .I was amazed how the carb wasn't at all compromised by the pretty severe changes in elevation . Proves EFI not really needed after all!! Henry made it right.!
Didn't even touch the carb once from sea level to 8,400 feet ASL. I could lean it out if it started to surge. But it behaves. My tudor was the same way last year and the year before on the same trip.
A nice tight ride...rolls nicely with the overdrive... And stops nicely! The bar is set! Lol we always had the "Host Healey" lead the tour...
Right on!
Was thinking that's awfully familiar, I did that drive before the weather started last year. Man that's got to be a fun road for the A!
It is perfect Model A road!
Going north on 88 from your place is a is beautiful drive.
See ya down a country road!
Enjoying it again, thanks
Steve and Leah
For sure, brother.
As a British 31 A owner I thank you for taking us along for the ride, and Tina giving us a view of the Dash, as I was wondering what your cruising speed was. xx
Nice!
Nice little drive for the Model A, love the sound and noise of the Model A
Many thanks!
Nice ride and view, thanks for taking us along! Have a wonderful weekend.
Thanks for visiting, Dan!
Now that’s a good drive, noticed that you would pull over them newer and faster motor cars. I’m sure they appreciated that. We haven’t seen Bob (Dad) lately hopefully he’s doing well. Thanks for the ride along, KY Ken.
He is doing great!
What a great view over that beautiful model A hood.
Very gratifying, I ain’t been in a Model A since my Dad & Uncle Jim took the “family sedan” to town to get a tire repaired for Dads JD A , Every time I went “up home” I’d pull the driveway and look at the plate on the model A = 1953
What body style was it??
What I mean is, What sedan body style was it? My previous wasn't very obvious.
@@ModelA I didn’t know there were more than “2 & 4 door sedans. I reckon when it comes down to it, all I recall was I shared the back seat with a 5:50-16 tire & rim assembly. I’m pals with a long time friend who has a 25 T open (two seats) 76,000 miles and barn stored till he got it home. Nice ride & drives great (once I got the hang of the 3 pedals) , now that my interest is peaked, I’ll be studying on the different body styles , thanks for a great video Paul
Yep. 2-doors or 4?
I forgot, the 2 dr sedan I rode in ,Dad also drove to High School in 1943, he spoke of keeping the brakes adjusted so it would stop “square” it had a gas heater in it too, sure wish I’d of made more effort to obtain it after Dads demise and the auction to dispose of his things.
Awesome in every respect... Really impressed with Model A hill climbing...
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very calming Ford A " ASMR " footage, i loved it !
Glad you enjoyed it Peter!
Could be your best vidéo yet! I use to spend summer in that part of the world. Great memories!
Glad you enjoyed it! It's "10 of 10" right now. Not getting viewed much. Nobody is sharing it on their facebooks or whatever, so it's flopping.
wow, the lake at 17:08 is amazing. Thanks for sharing the drive. Your hood looks great!
Nice one, Paul and Model T.
Glad you enjoyed it, Rob!
It runs like a little bee. (it is a german saying about a very reliable car) And much smoother than some new 3Cyl. turbocharged cars here in Europe... Thank you for sharing this with us! This wants me even more to get a Model A one day. Greetings from Germany.
Greetings to my friends in Germany. Guten Tag!
I know that road! I drove it last fall in an F250 trailing my new Model A!
Yep!!
Fantastic video Paul and Tina, someday very soon ill have my early 28 back on the road. Best wishes from texas
That will be awesome!!
Great Drive Paul and Model T
Thank you Matt! God bless
@@ModelA thank you Paul for taking us along with you
How funny! I was on my way home and thought to myself. I wonder if Paul has a video of just the driving noise of a model a. I had about a 35 minute drive ahead of me and what do you know the first thing that pops up on RUclips being uploaded two hours ago is this video!
Glad to see you again
Thanks man!
Beautiful country up that way!
It really is! I wish it were governed better. Maybe I would stay.
I am a southern Indiana hillbilly -- was that remaining show in 'them thar hills'........................... And with the overdrive, what was the safe cruising speed,. Very nice scenery on that trip too;. Very nice video......
She'll do 55 with ease
Looks like the old girl is clipping right along, thanks for the ride.
Hope Tina was camera person and you didn't try using your HT along the way that's kind of a two Handed Rd.
She is my human gimball.
It would have been nice to have the route on a map. Next time maybe?
I'm not that sophisticated.
@@ModelA OK! But the next time show us when you are having a stop in front of a nice view, drinking coffee and eating snacks!
Paul, going on an extended trip with your honey bun, have you ever calculated the MPG you model A's get, not that it's terribly important.
Yes, lots of times. Low 20's
what gear did you go down the hill?
3rd w/OD
Home again home again. Only in AMERICA we're able to have that much fun. Mrs. S ,great video, AGAIN ! Paul how far down are you running the timing lever? Thank you so much ,be safe and enjoy!
Lever is about 80% down. Almost full advance, but not quite.
