Panic in parliament as Nyali MP Mohammed Ali enters the chamber with a gun

There was a moment of panic in the national assembly chamber last evening, after Gem member of Parliament Elisha Odhiambo drew the speakers attention to Nyali MP Mohamed Ali, who had walked into the chamber with a gun.
According to parliamentary rules, members are required to deposit their firearms in a safety deposit box, that is manned by the sergeant at arms.
The Nyali MP however apologised saying he forgot to leave it behind. But some of the members wanted action taken on Ali, even as others called for heightened security, owing to the rising political temperatures and the sharp divisions in the house.
