  • Quantum cameras - sounds rather sophisticated, doesn’t it? And yet, such cameras use a million times fewer photons per pixel than those of the smartphones in our pocket. With this technology, Professor Padgett can build cameras that see invisible gas or look through smoke, but the real question is - what would you do with them?
Miles Padgett holds the Kelvin Chair of Natural Philosophy at the University of Glasgow. Professor Padgett’s main area of research is the nature and use of light, and he is also the lead scientist of QuantIC, the UK’s Quantum Technology Imaging Hub.
