A Short History of Farmall Tractors - Half Century of Progress Day 2
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 29 авг 2023
- It's day 2 of the Half Century of Progress show! There are 100 Farmall tractors lined up in order, one for each year of production, and I'm going to use them to explain the different generations of Farmall tractors. Later, we brave golf cart chaos to see some plowing and corn harvesting, look at some unusual tractors, and meet Evan & Rebekah from Country View Acres.

Pete I have been watching you for about 3 years and I never seem to be in awe I finally learned to send comments 77 yrs old You are an inspiration to all who still love the farm. God bless
Thanks Pete for sharing the tractor show with us, very interesting, and so glad Evan & Rebecca got to see you in person.
Nice seeing Evan and Rebecca. Those two have made their mark on the internet. The dating and history of the Farmall Tractors was a pleasure to watch. Life as it used to be over a century ago with the tools available and the leaving of the plowhorse. Wonderful show and video.
It was really great to see you on Saturday, so glad you and Evan got to meet up. 👍👍💚
Golf cart mania !!!!
Really enjoyed this video,
100 years of Farmall all in one row, and that’s just a small part of this show ….
Farming is kinda our specialty here in central Illinois 😉✌️🤠
Pete. Thanks for sharing your passion and knowledge of IH tractors. Really appreciated you sharing glimpse from your Rantoul trip.
Pete, was great to finally get to talk to you in person. I have enjoyed watching your videos for years. You do a great job of keeping it upbeat and entertaining.
Hopefully we will run into each other again in the future.
Thanks Evan! It was great visiting with you.
It was so cool seeing all the old tractors! Great show! Thanks Pete!
And such a great tour guide!
I'm not much of a tractor person, but I could listen to you talk about tractors all day. Your passion about them makes for an interesting video to say the least!
That was a feast to the eyes, thanks for tacking us along Pete and the kids.🚜
Wow, Pete, those differences in years and series are amazing. Love seeing them thanks
My grandfather started a 40 acre farm in 1942 with a 1939 Farmall Cub. This past year i tore it down and rebuilt it after sitting for 30 years. Such awesome little machines. Great video!!
Really cool! If there's tractors that you haven't seen before imagine how many I'm seeing for the first time. A cart is mandatory it looks like. Such a awesome display of old and new, and especially weird, farming equipment. Super awesome. Glad you and Evan met. Two very interesting channels.
Wow the logistics of putting on that show is mind boggling. So many exhibits and organizing the parades and the plowing , harvesting shows - crazy. And you meeting Evan is how we feel meeting you. Very exciting to meet someone that you’ve watched for so long.
Wow so great to see all of the different years of tractors, and Evan and Rebecca as always thank you for bringing us along . Great video as always
Thanks. Iam a fan of old tractors. From beginning to the 80s .
Good to see our friends from Country View Acres.
Another great video. I really enjoy your video’s and glad you got to meet in person Evan and Rebecca. thank you.
Pete, I've loved your show from the first time I saw it years ago. I'm almost 80 and I don't get around very well, so I know I never see that equipment show, but it sure is something else. Thanks for bringing me along...
my little Farmall A was an absolute gem I never knew what the year was but it cut my firewood tilled my garden plowed my snow and if it got cold enough that my car wouldn't start my A would all ways start with only hand crank it went on the first pull ..I loved it ..!
“Oh what a beautiful mornin’ when Pete uploads a new video”. Great show, thanks for bringing us along.
I was there, and It is amazing how many different things you saw. They don’t call it the super-bowl of farm shows for nothing.
Watched country view acres last night with Pete.
Really chaotic. No kidding. I wonder if there were any wrecks. Organizing this must have been epic.
I love those D21 Allis and the 6030 John Deere. I recognize Evan and Rebekah.............great channel as well.
where the heck do you think they got ALL those golf carts???? Crazy!! Today was Very Interesting and we're glad you also put Evan and Rebekah they are so sweet - So glad you turned us on to their channel. Take care...................
Appears to be a great community of people gathering to support farm machinery, farming, and farm history. Love it!
Love to see these events this is what America is all about. Freedom.
Pete and Hilary, I got my new "Just A Few Acres Farm" hat and I love it. Already got a compliment from the guy at the lumber yard this morning, he'll be a new subscriber. Thank you!
Thanks Pete! This sure does bring back memories! We had a Johndeer 4020 a JD 2510 an Oliver 77 Rowcrop International 656 Farmall H Farmall A and B I don’t remember the yrs on em. The Oliver was my favorite I loved that tractor! I now restore Wheelhorse and Cub Cadets. Farming brings our similarities together in a way of life and I wouldn’t trade it at all! ✌🇺🇸
Thank you for your time, I learned a lot about the older tractors from you,
Pete,I think you did very well narrating my visit there, with you, I was there with two others also, but they didn’t hold a candle with you Pete,Thks,it was great!
Interesting to hear the history illustrated by the physical tractor model!
It's so fun to see all the tractors. Thank you for sharing. My family and I love your videos.
Lots of inspiration! We have our 1947 M torn apart right now. My son is doing the redo. I would love to completely restore it but my son said let's get it working first. We do need it working again. Your videos are golden.
Love your enthusiasm for international tractors!
I absolutely love vintage and antique tractors and wish that I could get a job driving them.
I have driven a few vintage and antique tractors and I loved it very much.
Thank you, Pete, for taking us along!
Good to see Pete and Evan together. I watch every video of both these wonderful guys.
Glad you could meet a Hero of yours. It is the same for us as well looking to meet up with you. Yes, You need to have your space and time as well. I hope you and your family there are doing well, staying hydrated, and healthy.
Love seeing all the old school equipment. Hard to imagine the they farmed all the plains with the smaller tractors. Alot more farmers. How many people have told you that they have spent time on the Air Force Base there. Was there in the 80's.
Thanks for the Farmall/IH tractor tour. Drove an H and a M on my uncles farm back in the 60's
Must have taken a few years to put this big show together.
You did well, Pete. The only things I can add are the Farmall waz the first strictly all purpose tractor hence the name FARM ALL. These are a departure from the "Prairie Giants" that first came out to apply brute force to bust the tough prairie sods. In 1923 IHC released 3 lines of tractors. Farmall, McCormick Deering, and International. The Farmall was a tractor designed to push, pull, or carry the implements to do work. McCormick Deering was a Standard tractor designed for busting prairie sod again and generally went to the prairie states and Canada where large open fields were the norm. McCormick Deering was also designed to generally push or pull the implements. International was the the "wildcard" if you will as this was the Industrial line. Think Heavy pushing and pulling.
In about 1948 the Deering name was dropped as the last surviving Deering family member had passed away and the naming slightly streamlined. Then in 1954 the McCormick line stopped refering to the Standard line and streamlined the sales even further. Since the McCormick and International were essentially the same tractor the McCormick line was a subset of the International line which represented all Standard type tractors. The first International 400 that came out, The Standard tractor, created a problem as the owner would go order parts for his International 400 and get Farmall 400 parts which didn't necessarily fit. Within months of the International 400 it was redesignated the International W-400, the W signifying a difference in the Farmall 400 and International 400. I have to assume that the other 100, 200, and 300 had similar issues though not as prevelant as with the big horse at the time. I owned the International "W"-400 that exists and it took me years to figure this clue out.
Thanks Steve.
Dang Pete that was a good summary of the history of at least your section of remembrance of the tractors. I really enjoyed that.
So cool to see Evan! Great video Pete !!!!!
Pete , I have enjoyed this trip with you , That has to be the most Red tractors I have every seen , Enjoy ever bit of it with your kids and be safe .
Yesss. So cool all the IH. And we bought a 2096 and love it. And so cool you and Evan and Rebecca meeting there. Love watching both your channels.
It looks like the kids and yourself are enjoying your time. Great. Hi Hilary.
Love the Farmall quick history run down.
Bravo! Pete. You really did your homework for this video. Much appreciated.
Pete, thanks so much for this video. Truly a joy to watch.
Very interesting. I watch Evan and Rebecca too. Both channels are very interesting and very different. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for all your video's Pete
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this video! I was not able to go to the show, and really appreciate you taking the time to film it.
my dad has a 666 international and its the first tractor i ever drove and will always be my favorite. great machine. he bought it from my grandfather and hopefully one day it's in my shed. we even included it in our wedding.
That JD weedburner would be a good snow removal tool!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Great video! Thanks Pete! 👍👍👍
So fun, enjoyed it all, especially the crazy diy monster tractors and weird transports. Bonus feelings of nostalgia as I am an IL native living in the Northeast.
Hahaha, Midwest Mad Max! I bet it's somewhat of a culture shock seeing the difference between your New York pace and our central Illinois style. 🤠✌️
I watch the canals enjoy the canals I live in Europe myself I grew up in the countryside between the animals, I also transported a lot to the auction and slaughterhouses, keep the farm small, make sure you always remain self-sufficient and can sell part of it to people who appreciate that you are good to the animals and give them a carefree life
Awesome 👌 Thank you so much for the tractor tutorial! You knocked it out of the park on the 100 years video.
Thanks for bringing us along👍
WOW just WOW. Thanks, Pete!
We were so happy to meet you at the Half Century of Progress. We watch your channel all the time. I was really impressed that you would stay and continue greeting your fans even after the time you had scheduled for.. A real gentleman.
Look at Pete, he is like a child in a candy shop. I can see you are having a blast. It is contagious!
I, too, just love that flag. Thanks, Pete and youngsters. What great coverage. Just too cool. Yes, I am an antique, also.
Your kids are awesome! And super lucky to live that life!
Thanks for the tour of all the red tractors. I am glad that Pete and his adult kids made it out to the show and thanks to Hilary for keeping the farm running back home so they could be there.
When you were taking us through the 100 years of Farmall tractors it still is difficult to pass by the 88 series tractors and have to see the red Case tractor. The end of an era that still brings a tear to my eye.
Wow you know your tractors. Respect
My dad had an 856 Turbo and my uncle had an 826. I really loved those tractors.
Excellent naration of the 100 years of IH tractors . I to stop with the 56 series . Thanks for your covering this event ! Looking forward to day 3 video !
Thanks for the quick history on Farmall...it helps beginners like me😊
It's funny how many golfcarts there is 😂
Thanks for showing us all the tractors. Of course, the Allis’s are my favorites. We have a D17 with a mounted picker, a 170, 2- 185s, and a 7010. Our newest tractor is a New Holland. Gotta love the 4 wheel drive. Thanks again Pete.
Pete i want to thank you for sharing your knowledge of tractors.
Loves your vids Pete! Keep makin them!
That was great to see you and Evan met up. great video
Good day all.
All through these two videos I've been trying to picture the look my granddaughter of 12 would give me if I told her, "We're goin' to a Tractor Show! Allis Chalmers rocks!" I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be typing this comment because I would've been caught in the vortex of a massive eye roll right then and there.
Your kids are on the right track, tho, cuz tractors aren't lame. Tractors helped get that scrumptious meal we just ate onto the table. And they're still working, at least 50 or 60 years later, even a hundred years!
I can't really get into the newer tractors, either, Pete. 🤔 They look like road construction equipment to me.
Cool to hear all your knowledge of tractor's pete nice of you to shear that knowledge with your viewers and your family i know you are enjoying the show oh that was cool that you finaly finally met Evan im a big fan of three farmers you Evan and Tyler from Tyler farmer ranch i never miss your videos i always wanted to have a farm like you guys but my health prevented it but it makes my day to see you gentlemen doing what you love it's a blessing for me to have honest folks like you up loading awesome video's for me to enjoy thank you for sharing and putting a smile on my face blessings and have fun at the tractor show.
Cool to see Pete and Evan together.
Now Pete, when you're at a show and you get to eat fair food, you really need to share some footage with the rest of us so we can live vicariously thru you....like when u and your Dad eat sausage sandwiches at the auction!!!
Thanks Pete, that was awesome
I'm very glad Shows like this exist, This is the Real america i know!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge of Farmall Tractors and the event. It’s so exciting to see Farming expos.
The golf cart thing is hysterical!
Pete, thank you for going through the 100 years of Farmall. It made my day. I have a 1954 Super C that has been in the family since new.
All that corn left behind on the ground is what kept all those pheasants alive over the winter back in the day. Now the machinery does such a thorough job they're starving to death. The loss of cover too because of taking out hedgerows and wetlands to make fields bigger.
Thanks you for taking me through the years
Thanks for the tour
Awesome video, was great to see Evan and Rebecca as well, you turned us onto them awhile back; great to see two of our fav farmers together.
My grandfather's farm life started with horses and transitioned to the tractor. Oh, how I wish I could have asked him more about that transition. I was farming when the 88 sries came out and dreamed of buying an 86 series tractor, just to have the 06 series platform. 40 years later, amazing how things continue to change. Thank you for all of your video work.
I love the 'long suffering' looks your kids keep giving you in the early morning!
They were very patient.

Thanks for another great video!
Thanks again Mr Pete!! being 1 gen farmer of my family i reqlly appreciate your wealth of knowledge that you dont charge for!!! Lets make farming what it use to be...
I love seeing that flag, The first time I saw it was back in the 90's during the first Gulf War. It was raised on a local TV tower here in Farmington, Conn, and was seen as far away as Long Island almost 60 miles away.
So cool. Thanks Pete. I’ve always wanted to attend this show.
I lived on a farm back in the 60's and we had a Farmall tractor was a good one.
THE GREEN TRACTOR MAFIA MUST LOVE PETE. 😆
always neat seeing things as they've progressed through the ages! my pops has a '47 BN that our neighbor gave us about 36 ish some odd years ago. thing could really use a rebuild but we've managed to keep it running every year without fail, we've had to build a modified 3 point setup on the back for a small plow blade but for years we used it to pull a 48" brush hog. quite a few years back he picked up an old heavy steel roller that someone made from the front axel/wheel of an old pavement roller that probably weighs around 1200 lbs and despite it's age and how much it's been used the brakes are still holding on! they just don't build things like they used to! these things were built to last a few lifetimes with the right care!
