    I just read this one, @six years after you, and I agree completely!! I actually loved the first chapter with Jeevan, and with Arthur dying, but then it took soooo long to get back to Jeevan. I was nearly WEARY with the Symphony and almost let it go, but then it got better and better and better! Very thought-provoking. Loved it, 4 1/2 stars.

    Cripes, how eerie it is when compared to the way covid hit. Came here after watching the TV adaptation, an oddly unique and immersive experience. Notably, drama was instinctive and relevant to humanity as it had been perhaps during the era of Greek civilisation. Where myth, story and life converge there we find the seat of the fragile mind of men's dreams and hopes being brought to a pulsating life. The world is otherwise a void and tasteless place as so depicted by the genre and where refuge is sought a microcosm of memories and the varying degree of its values, for reconciliation with the brave new world, for preserving the heart of humanity is still plagued by the disease of well, the peoples.

    I thoroughly enjoyed this book so it's nice to hear your views on it. It really made me think and I like that in a book.

    I've read mixed things about this book, but somehow I feel drawn to it. It's just come out in Italy, too, so I might read it sooner or later. The connection between art and survival seems interesting enough, thematically.
    I'm super curious about it.

      +Geek Pron Vlogs Yeah, it's tracking my face. There's a button on side the of my camera so I must have hit it accidentally before I started recording. Thanks!

    How horrible is your day outside?
    TO had an epidemic: SARS. In the 2000s. It was brought in from south China. You were safe in VT then.
    What's your take on new info re HP & CC plays and Fantastic Beasts movie?

    • @getbookish
      @getbookish  8 лет назад

      +TimeAndChance It was quite horrible: rainy, cold, etc. I've heard a lot about SARS but it was 2003 (?) so I wasn't aware of it when it was happening. As for the movie - the new photos make it look like it has potential. As for the play...I'm really not sure. I won't have the opportunity to see it anyway.

      Someday they'll either film HP & CC or travel the production to NYC for North American consumption.
      There's hype about Newt. I want to see Tina, Queenie & Chastity in action, as well as the various beasts. That's quite the name, Chastity; she is probably from Salem. An American was never a muggle, but rather a no-maj.

    I honestly hated this book. I have been going around seeing other points of view. People seem to like it but 4 of my friends also hated it.

      Sydney Johnson I hated the writing about this book. Everyone raves about it but to me I had to focus extremely hard to understand what was being conveyed.
