"pottery barn sells utensils y'all" LOL! Girl, I am the sameeeeeeeeeee. I just wish I would have gotten all of my pottery barn stuff when they were on sale! I spent 51$ on a SMALL backpack with no monogramming.
I came across your school supply haul, and instantly had to come watch this lunch supply video! My daughter is starting kindergarten this year as well. I’m totally a sucker for all the cute matchy stuff
I use those ice packs for my daughter if she takes yogurt and or a juice box. She never complains that it's not cold. Lunch tip for the school year: make her lunch the night before. Trying to get out of the house in the morning is a challenge in my house as well lol so not worrying with lunches is helpful.
Maybe start out by giving her the dollar tree utensils and if she brings them back every day and does not throw them away then give her the more expensive set.
You got some good stuff. I am a little obsessed with lunch containers and supplies 😄 When my kids went back to school I got them 2 lunch/snack containers, and then all the accessories. Sauce containers, yogurt containers, dip containers, mini skewers, silicone liners to divide the foods, etc etc. Yes, minor obsession. 😂 Oh and I LOVE sistema. So durable and functional and cute. I have a few lunch ideas on my channel if you're interested.
Haha, glad I am not the only one that loves lunch supplies. Now just need to use them! 😂. Thanks for watching, I will be sure to check out your videos!
When my oldest was in Kinder, I sent in those utensil sets - ours was Hello Kitty with a Walmart picnic set as back up. She's the kind of kid that would take good care of her super cute supplies, so the utensil set always made it home. It helped that the school lunch monitor and parent lunch volunteers totally babied the Kinder kids and made sure they ate a good amount of their food, and that all of their lunch box items/containers made it back into their lunchboxes to get home. My youngest was the complete opposite -- she lost or broke everything, including 2 lunch boxes! She always wanted to buy her lunch like the big kids anyway, so the packing of super cute lunches went by the wayside after that. My girls are 7 (2nd grade) and 10 (5th grade) now.
You can dress up her sandwiches with cookie cutters. Premake sandwiches and lunches but get the tiny squeeze bottle or condiment containers so no soggy sandwiches. Prepped lunches get us out of the door faster. Also easy lunch box makes a square container with four sections for homemade lunchables and such. We love the yumboxes. We have the original, panino, and snack size. We also definitely use a thermos for hot lunches like mini meatball subs, fried rice, oatmeal (breakfast for lunch) and other goodies. The key is to heat it with boiling water with the lid on for at least ten minutes. Oatmeal can go in dry with boiling water added to it.
You got this 👊🏻💕 ideas 💡 I make my little girl lunches themed with cute napkins cup cake liners and cute picks and stickers and a encouraging note with a little surprise on Monday for a great week 💕 she picks the them and I pick what she eats 💕 And if she brings back everything from her lunch box and eats at least half there’s a special snack surprise on Friday when she gets home 🏡.
Love this idea of the treat on Fridays, great way to encourage her to bring back all the supplies and make sure she is eating enough! Thanks for sharing!
Great video, I did the same thing got caught up in the whole making cute lunches I dove in deep too. Maybe you should give your daughter the dollar tree spoon set first to see how she does with bringing that back home instead of giving her the pottery barn one that way you already know if she will be a little more responsible with the pottery barn fork and spoon set because it is really cute set. Just a suggestion.
I would get the silicone liners just in case you want to divide the the big side of the yumbox or line the easy lunch box compartments. Also brown paper bags for disposable lunches during field trips!
Love bento boxes! It makes it so easy to pack. I’ve been making daily school lunches for my 3.5 year old for two years. I love doing it! Make it the night before!
I just found your channel from your 2020 what I got my kids for christmas video and I am watching a lot of your videos right now. I appreciate your content. My daughter is almost 4.5. She will be starting kindergarten in 2021. I have no idea what is expected or needed so I appreciate these videos to help me think and prepare.
I paused the video in the mid to say this so I don't forget lol adult brain. Anyhow most schools also want you to pack a mid morning snack that all the kids take. I usually send cheese its, grapes ect something easy and not messy. Just wanted to throw that out so when you get all the goodies. Love all the stuff you've picked out
Good job on the supplies. I'm creating a buy list currently for my daughter starting kindergarten. She doesn't eat very much so that's why I wanted to pack her lunch. I highly doubt she'll eat the school's hot lunch so I'm hoping the home lunch is a better option for her. I ordered a pottery barn lunch bag as well lol. I think all of us with 5 year old start there. I tried looking up a good lunch bag on Amazon and everything was just about the same price as pbk anyway and pbk is made so well. I was looking into snack containers. Decided against the reusable pouches bc I didn't like what they're made of. I was thinking about buying a stainless steel lunch bots container but I think your yumbox snack box might be a better choice for her. I'm going to look into that. I did a ton of research on ice packs. Too much that my husband makes fun of me bc I am a hardcore researcher for every product I'm going to buy. Didn't find any ice pack that was really amazing. They have these shaped ones by fit and fresh I was going to try. I think I might pick up those you bought at Walmart instead since they're cheaper and give them a try. Thank you for all your suggestions.
As for ice packs, I used the more flexible, flat ones. Most of the time, however, I just froze their go-gurt or apple sauce packs and used those as ice packs. They were thawed by lunch time and kept the rest of the lunch cold/safe. Even it they weren't thawed completely, my girls loved the yogurt/fruit as a slushy treat.
Oh my goodness i found your channel and i love it!!! Immediately subscribed!!! You have the best personality and i cant totally relate to you and buying all the cute stuff!!!!!
You should get her some lunch labels for her containers that way if she leaves anything behind its easier for her to find. You can get them on Amazon they're dishwasher safe
Thanks for the tip! I did get her some labels and completely forgot to mention them in the video. I will be sure to show them in one of my other back to school videos coming up!
Yes!!! It held up wonderfully and we will be using it again this year. I will be doing a back to school supply haul video soon and will be sure to provide an update. Thanks for watching! 😊
My daughter likes when i cut out her sandwich into shapes but there are many days i just don’t have time. Like you we are always late. Lol Fun video! Glad to see you are back. Wondering if you found any toy deals on prime day. I’m was hoping to get some Christmas gifts taken care of but I was not impressed with the toys on sale.
We did get one on prime day last year. We got the echo dot kids to put in my daughter’s room so she can listen to music. Debating whether I should give it to her on her bday in October or Christmas.

Glad I am not the only one that gets sucked into matching accessories! 😊Hope your daughter has an amazing school year and thanks so much for watching!
I love using a thermos container for hot foods such as mac n cheese, chicken nuggets, leftovers, etc. It keeps it warm.
That’s good to hear! This will be my first time using one and I am so excited

Thanks for the tip, I will definitely have to do that if I want to get out of the house on time!
I make lunch the night before every night and that's what my parents did as well

I was the type of kid (in elementary) that brought lunch and also got lunch from the school the days they had pizza or the cheese sticks lol
😂 I could totally see my daughter doing that!

I find sistema leaks when I put berries in them, have you had any similar experiences?
Hi- I haven’t had that happen but the only berries my girls really like to bring to school are grapes so they aren’t as wet as other fruit.
Thanks! I did check out the toy deals on Prime Day and wasn’t too impressed either, but I did snag two kindle fire’s for the girls for Christmas
We did get one on prime day last year. We got the echo dot kids to put in my daughter’s room so she can listen to music. Debating whether I should give it to her on her bday in October or Christmas.
Dose you like Oreo cookies
