Marshall is a bad guy and very hateful himself. They uncovered brute tweets he was making about women and he went on an apology tour on TikTok last week . He was controlling and bashing black women and praising Latin women (which Jackie is) , Jackie did everything to him that he accused millions of bw of doing

I was cringing every single time she mentioned them having babies. Isn’t that like a known thing that that can be a sensitive topic for people & that we shouldn’t ask about it? I’ve had 1 friend who had a miscarriage who shared how uncomfortable & sad it was for her to have people ask about having babies while she was going through it & I’ve never asked people about it again (unless they bring it up first). I feel like Vanessa should know that.
Yes! My sister had a miscarriage, it was such a difficult situation they had NOT been trying, her youngest was not quite 2 and she had a lot of trouble conceiving her. They just hadn't gotten around to getting a vasectomy yet.. they were shocked and really worried about the financial and emotional strain (not to mention the geriatric pregnancy) but they had just gotten over the shock and were adjusting to the excitement (hey at least they hadn't gotten rid of all the baby stuff yet!) When she lost it. There's pain but also relief, and SO. MUCH. GUILT and SHAME. We as a society have decided it's just best not to ask, some people missed the memo.
I get your point and also felt that she was overly insistent, but to be fair lots of persons were mentioning(inside the capsules) that they couldn’t wait to start having children and such. And afterwards no one is into that- is kind of weird to say the least.

Jackie had mentioned in the pods that she was raised "hard." She goes out of her way to hide when she's crying or sad. Her "sad" feelings seemed to translate into anger and shutting down. When we're raised in an environment where showing feelings or vulnerability is unacceptable, you shut down your feelings instead of showing them. I think she felt seen and validated by Marshall because he's great at creating a safe space for her to be vulnerable and supported. However, we go back to what we're familiar with. She was probably really uncomfortable with having someone support her because she wasn't used to it. I know from experience I had a hard time being ok with someone comforting me because I always wondered when they would "leave me" or not wanting to get "dependent" on someone's support because I told myself it was weak to need or want it. I hope she and Marshall find happiness; whatever that looks like for them.
That's still not an excuse to treat people like yeah okay? Let's not excuse people for acting antagonistic and mean to other people, please. I've met people who've been through some traumatic things from their childhood and upbringing who could've turned out as horrible adults to others but instead CHOOSE to be kind and have so much humility and compassion. Myself included. So I beg! Not just you but other people who think the same way as you to STOP making excuses for people who've had past traumas to test people so horribly! Because it's not okay AT All. I hate that for real. We're all accountable for our actions and they kind of people we choose to become especially towards others. Ad much as what Jackie went through or still is going through is hurtful, so is the way she's treating Marshall and She's very much AWARE of it.
Honestly the nail in the coffin for me on Jackie was that in the reunion she says she and josh didn’t start dating or whatever until after her and Marshall broke it off but in the break up scene she literally tells Marshall that she JUST met with Josh. Like girl, get your story straight

Yesss, I would love to watch one for Kwame and Chelsea next. For the reunion, when Nick was asking the question to Kwame, "Are you surprised by some of the reactions out there from people who are shocked and surprised that you didn't say no..." and then Chelsea answers assuming that question was for her and made it about women's empowerment. Do you think that question Nick asked was for Chelsea or Kwame? Because I think that question was for Kwame and it's another incident where Chelsea is showing that she is delusional about Kwame and she can't read the room. Ugh I’m soooo thankful you mentioned your thoughts on Vanessa and Nick. I very much so thought the same exact things. It just seemed so malicious on Vanessa’s part and I feel like Nick was just there and wasn’t adding anything into the reunion. Part of me gives Vanessa grace because maybe she was told to do that to get the heat off of Josh and Jackie due to all the death threats they were getting but, she didn’t have to make Marshall not feel heard or look bad. The reunion felt like I was watching a season of love and hip hop and not something that’s focused on really connecting with people. It was kinda tacky and not really well put together in my opinion.
Vanessa is SUCH a girls girl, if you realize she basically only backs the women on the show. As in girls supporting girls to the extreme sport level and i agree that she cared more for the drama than the actual couples, especially this season so we get really poor questions asked, basement level journalism. Furthermore asking about babies when they were clearly uncomfortable? yeesh a tad tacky, and as the host of a dating/ marriage show she has to know that that is a sensitive topic

I totally agree with everything you said especially regarding how Vanessa handled the interview. She was supporting Jackie in her wrongdoing while villainizing Marshall when he wasn't even at fault. Infuriating.
Yeah I felt like Jackie was becoming on that line of toxic and emotionally abusive. Of course we don't see everything so Marshall could have came at her with similar ways. But what was shown on the show, seemed like it could become abusive down the line.

Jackie tired me the HECK OUT!! Marshall did NOT deserve the way this relationship went and ended AT ALL, and the reunion didn’t help it at all, between the video from the couple and the way Vanessa treated Marshall? S T U P S E !! Foolishness!! Vanessa was so distasteful in more than one instance! Marshall isn’t perfect - none of us is, but I really don’t get the Marshall hate. Honestly, When you talked about how we can sit and wait for the person that we met originally to come back during a relationship when they have basically stopped trying really resonated with me. I always felt like if I could be supportive then they would be that person they portrayed themselves as so I've burned myself in the past by holding onto that instead of recognizing that they are showing me who they are. Thank you for talking about this because it's really enlightened me to how I go about the dating process.
This is a great break down of their relationship. From a man’s perspective, he loved her much more than she loved him, and that is often a killer of relationships.

I think Marshall had ever right to be upset at Josh when Jackie told him Josh said "I'm leaving if it's not you." Josh said the exact same thing to another woman Monica this season (which Marshall knew) and Josh proposed to Monica which Netflix and the show confirmed. But they ended things and then Jackie got with Josh! I wish we had more context on these shows because they leave so much out
Marshal actually came out and said he was mad at Josh because Josh told another girl in the pods the same line he told Jackie about leaving it it ain’t her

Hi Steph I have really enjoyed your past 'Love Is Blind' responses, thank you so much for the time you put in them. But I believe this recent video truly falls short. In my opinion you glossed over so many dysfunctional behaviors of Marshal. It would be too long to cover all of them too this comment but the major one is that once he told Jackie he 'saw her as a project', I was expecting more then just a "Yikes" from you. He reveal his TRUE intention with this relationship, and it wasn't about love or connection it was grounded in his toxic Nice Guy-ness. Anyone entering a married with someone as a project is setting themselves up for failure. I know you are an expert but this doesn't look like healthy attachment.
Yeah, I really liked her breakdown of Kwame and Chelsea. But I feel like in these lightning rod cases, she kinda picks a team and sticks to it. Same thing with her breakdown of Cole and Zanab last season. She was hard core team cole and explained away or ignored his problematic behavior that showed he had some issues.
I tried giving love is blind a chance twice but i just couldn't bring myself to watch it. so i watch your reviews and breakdowns instead because they're so insightful and educational. i'm not sure if you've already done so, but it would be amazing to see you do breakdowns on love is blind: japan. from what i've read, it's very different compared to the US one - less drama and contestants are more respectful and supportive of each other.

I personally find the line "i saw you as a project" was really disgusting. It shows that he doesnt see her as a person and her value is about what he put into her I like Marshall and what Jackie did to him was unjust But he definitely has his demons too, there is a reason why he felt attracted to a person that pushed him away It seems he has a lot of anger Which is understandable in that situation But his solution to that shouldnt be to hurt her back, but to stand up for your boundaries and then leave if they are not respected That line really gave me "nice guy" vibes
When she talked about the legal marriage part and that she could‘nt give that, my mind went straight to thinking she‘s already/still married to someone and hid that 👀

I dnt watch the shows but I stumbled across the topic from Facebook and wanted to see what was all the fuss about. I did not intend to watch your video and have it break down the triggers in my last situation but knowing the triggers and doing exactly what you said Marshall did just reinforced my own thoughts of course of navigating that situation. In my own saying “sometimes you gotta break your heart to save your soul”. You did a great job of analyzing and breaking down this couple. Ole boy will find someone to reciprocate pouring into him like he do her and he’ll be better off
yes! I love your commentary, this isn't a dating show but I also found the show The Parent Test interesting and would love your reaction to it, because while I think the premise of the show could be very helpful to parents and children I also thin it got a little messy in the execution of the show

I too felt the Jackie and Josh interview was lacking and then in the back of my mind I was thinking... you know they skipped out on attending the reunion in person and I wonder if producers were only able to get them to do the zoom call is if they didn't ask certain questions?
@@ashleyw.6702 in my opinion it was probably also to avoid accountability. That interview was pre-recorded, so they were only interacting with Vanessa instead of possibly facing commentary/backlash from Marshall and the rest of the cast.
What I noticed about Jackie was she suddenly would break down and be talking about her family. Did she say something about her family would not accept Marshall? The other thing was toward the end of the relationsjip with Marshall, she talked street. The lucid conversation in the pod vanished. Maybe I dreamt that but it's how I remember her. Next, on the reunion she speaks of her current guy being close to the family. She was holding his arm in the most loving and quiet way. Like she had really met her match and is more mature and quieter. I hope she really is happy. I hope they are happy.
Definitely felt she was putting on this loved up image for the reunion. She feels like a very arrogant person imo. Especially in the way she went about ending things with Marshall and starting with Josh. I bet she feels like she's the winner and Marshall is the loser.
This to me was one of the most tragic couplings. Jackie was clearly not anywhere near emotionally prepared for a secure relationship, and I don't even mean that to hate on her, i just wish for her to get the help she needs to be secure and happy in her life. I do feel bad for marshall bc he really was trying and being so kind and reassuring. But you're right, he ignored the warnings she gave, taking supportive to the point of he really didn't know what he was agreeing to, that was out of his control. But that's being human. I hope Jackie really does spend the time on herself that she did eventually admit she needed, and I hope marshall finds a great match for him who appreciates his secure attachment and kindness.

So Danielle from the previous season recently spoke to Insider about the process of the show. Apparently, there is a $50,000 damages fine if you don't make it to the altar so a lot of them get to that point to avoid it. I still agree that it's awful, but the show does seem to groom them

I would have just said I’m keeping the ring like everybody else does because you didn’t pay for it. It just made her look stupid to me. And like mentioned above they can use it to pay that fine if that’s true. Neither one made it to the alter. Maybe production will take it back in lieu of a fine. Who knows.

Jackie had mentioned in the pods that she was raised "hard." She goes out of her way to hide when she's crying or sad. Her "sad" feelings seemed to translate into anger and shutting down. When we're raised in an environment where showing feelings or vulnerability is unacceptable, you shut down your feelings instead of showing them. I think she felt seen and validated by Marshall because he's great at creating a safe space for her to be vulnerable and supported. However, we go back to what we're familiar with. She was probably really uncomfortable with having someone support her because she wasn't used to it. I know from experience I had a hard time being ok with someone comforting me because I always wondered when they would "leave me" or not wanting to get "dependent" on someone's support because I told myself it was weak to need or want it. I hope she and Marshall find happiness; whatever that looks like for them.

I've met people who've been through some traumatic things from their childhood and upbringing who could've turned out as horrible adults to others but instead CHOOSE to be kind and have so much humility and compassion. Myself included. So I beg! Not just you but other people who think the same way as you to STOP making excuses for people who've had past traumas to test people so horribly! Because it's not okay AT All. I hate that for real. We're all accountable for our actions and they kind of people we choose to become especially towards others. Ad much as what Jackie went through or still is going through is hurtful, so is the way she's treating Marshall and She's very much AWARE of it.

For the reunion, when Nick was asking the question to Kwame, "Are you surprised by some of the reactions out there from people who are shocked and surprised that you didn't say no..." and then Chelsea answers assuming that question was for her and made it about women's empowerment. Do you think that question Nick asked was for Chelsea or Kwame? Because I think that question was for Kwame and it's another incident where Chelsea is showing that she is delusional about Kwame and she can't read the room.

Ugh I’m soooo thankful you mentioned your thoughts on Vanessa and Nick. I very much so thought the same exact things. It just seemed so malicious on Vanessa’s part and I feel like Nick was just there and wasn’t adding anything into the reunion. Part of me gives Vanessa grace because maybe she was told to do that to get the heat off of Josh and Jackie due to all the death threats they were getting but, she didn’t have to make Marshall not feel heard or look bad. The reunion felt like I was watching a season of love and hip hop and not something that’s focused on really connecting with people. It was kinda tacky and not really well put together in my opinion.
Vanessa is SUCH a girls girl, if you realize she basically only backs the women on the show. As in girls supporting girls to the extreme sport level and i agree that she cared more for the drama than the actual couples, especially this season so we get really poor questions asked, basement level journalism.
Furthermore asking about babies when they were clearly uncomfortable? yeesh a tad tacky, and as the host of a dating/ marriage show she has to know that that is a sensitive topic

I totally agree with everything you said especially regarding how Vanessa handled the interview. She was supporting Jackie in her wrongdoing while villainizing Marshall when he wasn't even at fault. Infuriating.
Yeah I felt like Jackie was becoming on that line of toxic and emotionally abusive. Of course we don't see everything so Marshall could have came at her with similar ways. But what was shown on the show, seemed like it could become abusive down the line.

Jackie tired me the HECK OUT!! Marshall did NOT deserve the way this relationship went and ended AT ALL, and the reunion didn’t help it at all, between the video from the couple and the way Vanessa treated Marshall? S T U P S E !! Foolishness!! Vanessa was so distasteful in more than one instance! Marshall isn’t perfect - none of us is, but I really don’t get the Marshall hate. That man is one of the most emotionally intelligent, gracious, and honourable persons I’ve seen on TV, especially as a Black Man. & as for the past tweets people have been coming at him for - that was like a decade ago; so very much can change in that time frame. It’s been an interesting circumstance of seeing how differently people can assess and interpret things for sure when it comes to how people view and feel about him.

Honestly, When you talked about how we can sit and wait for the person that we met originally to come back during a relationship when they have basically stopped trying really resonated with me. I always felt like if I could be supportive then they would be that person they portrayed themselves as so I've burned myself in the past by holding onto that instead of recognizing that they are showing me who they are. Thank you for talking about this because it's really enlightened me to how I go about the dating process.

I think Marshall had ever right to be upset at Josh when Jackie told him Josh said "I'm leaving if it's not you." Josh said the exact same thing to another woman Monica this season (which Marshall knew) and Josh proposed to Monica which Netflix and the show confirmed. But they ended things and then Jackie got with Josh! I wish we had more context on these shows because they leave so much out
Marshal actually came out and said he was mad at Josh because Josh told another girl in the pods the same line he told Jackie about leaving it it ain’t her

Hi Steph I have really enjoyed your past 'Love Is Blind' responses, thank you so much for the time you put in them. But I believe this recent video truly falls short. In my opinion you glossed over so many dysfunctional behaviors of Marshal. It would be too long to cover all of them too this comment but the major one is that once he told Jackie he 'saw her as a project', I was expecting more then just a "Yikes" from you. He reveal his TRUE intention with this relationship, and it wasn't about love or connection it was grounded in his toxic Nice Guy-ness. Anyone entering a married with someone as a project is setting themselves up for failure. I know you are an expert but this doesn't look like healthy attachment.
Yeah, I really liked her breakdown of Kwame and Chelsea. But I feel like in these lightning rod cases, she kinda picks a team and sticks to it. Same thing with her breakdown of Cole and Zanab last season. She was hard core team cole and explained away or ignored his problematic behavior that showed he had some issues.

I tried giving love is blind a chance twice but i just couldn't bring myself to watch it. so i watch your reviews and breakdowns instead because they're so insightful and educational. i'm not sure if you've already done so, but it would be amazing to see you do breakdowns on love is blind: japan. from what i've read, it's very different compared to the US one - less drama and contestants are more respectful and supportive of each other.

I personally find the line "i saw you as a project" was really disgusting. It shows that he doesnt see her as a person and her value is about what he put into her
I like Marshall and what Jackie did to him was unjust
But he definitely has his demons too, there is a reason why he felt attracted to a person that pushed him away
It seems he has a lot of anger
Which is understandable in that situation
But his solution to that shouldnt be to hurt her back, but to stand up for your boundaries and then leave if they are not respected
That line really gave me "nice guy" vibes
When she talked about the legal marriage part and that she could‘nt give that, my mind went straight to thinking she‘s already/still married to someone and hid that 👀

I did not intend to watch your video and have it break down the triggers in my last situation but knowing the triggers and doing exactly what you said Marshall did just reinforced my own thoughts of course of navigating that situation. In my own saying “sometimes you gotta break your heart to save your soul”. You did a great job of analyzing and breaking down this couple. Ole boy will find someone to reciprocate pouring into him like he do her and he’ll be better off

Yeah. I think they should put it in the contract that they must attend the reunion. But maybe it was for her mental health that she didn't attend??
@@ashleyw.6702 in my opinion it was probably also to avoid accountability. That interview was pre-recorded, so they were only interacting with Vanessa instead of possibly facing commentary/backlash from Marshall and the rest of the cast.
What I noticed about Jackie was she suddenly would break down and be talking about her family. Did she say something about her family would not accept Marshall? The other thing was toward the end of the relationsjip with Marshall, she talked street. The lucid conversation in the pod vanished. Maybe I dreamt that but it's how I remember her. Next, on the reunion she speaks of her current guy being close to the family. She was holding his arm in the most loving and quiet way. Like she had really met her match and is more mature and quieter. I hope she really is happy. I hope they are happy.
It did not seem like the love from Jackie was reciprocated by Josh on the reunion. Seemed like if he could run, off he would be. 😅
Definitely felt she was putting on this loved up image for the reunion. She feels like a very arrogant person imo. Especially in the way she went about ending things with Marshall and starting with Josh. I bet she feels like she's the winner and Marshall is the loser.
I think Josh & Jackie's whole performance on the reunion was damage control. I think they'd been taking a lot of heat.
This to me was one of the most tragic couplings. Jackie was clearly not anywhere near emotionally prepared for a secure relationship, and I don't even mean that to hate on her, i just wish for her to get the help she needs to be secure and happy in her life. I do feel bad for marshall bc he really was trying and being so kind and reassuring. But you're right, he ignored the warnings she gave, taking supportive to the point of he really didn't know what he was agreeing to, that was out of his control. But that's being human. I hope Jackie really does spend the time on herself that she did eventually admit she needed, and I hope marshall finds a great match for him who appreciates his secure attachment and kindness.

So Danielle from the previous season recently spoke to Insider about the process of the show. Apparently, there is a $50,000 damages fine if you don't make it to the altar so a lot of them get to that point to avoid it. I still agree that it's awful, but the show does seem to groom them
So that could be why she kept the ring. To help pay some of that fine lol.
