Takashi Iizuka of Sonic Team did officially say in an interview that the Super Emeralds were still in another dimension. Thankfully Modern and Classic Sonic were able to access that dimension that the 7 Super Emeralds were sealed away into. I wonder if Classic and Modern Sonica, Maurice and Genesis will eventually gain access to it. If I recall, Knuckles was also able to go Hyper.

Yeah. We're probably never going to see this with Shadow and Classic Shadow separately since we've only ever seen Shadow hyper to combine with Sonic and become Hyper Shadic to defeat Nazo and Sonic.exe. Still would be cool to see nonetheless.
