Thanks for sharing 👍 I have never tried to grow lilac from seeds. I usually take a new plant 🌱 that comes from the roots of the motherplant. I have one lilac that doesn't have those runners. It's a beautiful lilac, could be the one you're showing in the video. I have to check the link you posted and try it out. I would like to have that lilac somewhere else in the garden but it't to old to shift it. Happy New Year 🎆 to all of you 💕
I believe that patience grows in a gardener, we must learn to wait, I will start my seeds next year for many perennials. I don't want to purchase all grown plants because of the cost! 3 years comes fast really!
Oh my, how beautiful. I am a native Ohian transplanted to Texas. It's really not a place where lilacs grow successfully, so I miss them so much. It was 18 degrees here in Texas this morning when I got up and I believe that Ohio was warmer. This was a nice balm to my cold and winter weary (already) soul.
It's 34 degrees here, at the moment. Yeah, lilacs need a period of cold every year. Glad the video helped! I understand, winter is rough for me as well, especially January and February. It's just blah outside, not enough sunlight and the daytime is too short.
Hey this is beautiful! I recently bought a Tinkerbell lilac seedling (about 1 feet tall) and was wondering if you know how long it will take to grow into a reasonable size to start flowering? Like maybe 1 or 2 years?
What is the adage that 1st year creeps, 2nd year leaps, 3rd year? Can't remember but I know trees and bushes are generally the same, no blooms just foliage the 1st year, 2nd year =some flowers 3rd year takes off! So hopefully this is helpful?
Here is a link to the first video I made about my seed grown lilacs in 2017. ruclips.net/video/GtO5G_IpFp8/видео.html

It really does come fast, and even if the plants take a couple of years to flower, you get to enjoy the green foliage while you wait.

Just curious how tall is the bush at seven years from seed? It is hard to gauge the size in this video. It’s beautiful.

Thank you. I have never bought a lilac bush from the store, so I am not really sure. Hopefully not too long.
