I have a set of Traxion Gripper Max tires on my quad. Over 4000 miles on them and still going strong. They make a very durable tire, glad to know that when I move up to a SXS that Traxion has good offerings. Thanks for the review!
I ran these for over 7000km on my xp 1000. They now sit at about 20% tread left. Think they were cheap when they came out but I'd Def say they are durable and I had decent grip in all conditions. Ashfalt, dry/wet dirt, mud, snow. Obviously not great once they get worn down for snow use but for all around use, they are great tires. Come stock on the new commander xtp. If comparing new tires, like the carnivores which i have on my pro xp vs the alphas it's very clear the carnivores have much more corner traction. Softer sidewall and aggressive tread vs the alphas but again. You'll get your monies worth.
I had some Traxion Gripper (now called Rover) with those same rims on my 18 KQ. Do not use on a < 2018, you will have oversteer from too much grip. I put about 1500km on them, moved them to the Alterra 700 where they were perfect. Ran them on that for 4800km, then sold them with 50% tread and zero punctures only because I wanted to try a different style of tire. Traxion is a very affordable brand and in Canada revco sells them. I got my alum rims and the tires (26") mounted, delivered to the door for $800ish all-in. Mine were a big horn pattern, tell me where you can get big horns without rims for that price lol. I'm sure you'll find the same when price comparing these to other brands with similar tread. My Polaris 850 OEM's that don't last 1 season will likely be replaced with a Traxion tire before winter.
The Gripper, and Rover are similar tires, but the Rovers are not the Grippers. The Grippers are an 8 ply tire, and the Rovers are a 6 ply with a slightly different tread pattern.
@@3ToeCustoms the rovers were originally called grippers in 2019. They are 6ply and I can only assume they changed the name from gripper to rover because people would get confused by gripper and gripper max, the max being the 8ply. The gripper/rover/gripper max/big horn tread pattern is too grippy for a KQ. At least a
i took a big chunk out of the sidewall on my rear Alpha at around 20 km's,so now it's a spare.i epoxied the torn flap back down and crossed my fingers.i ride solo so i'm not risking it and replaced it with a new one.so far i'm really happy with them.much better than my oem bighorn 2.0's.nice to have some lateral traxion.i just noticed the other day my rears are wearing really quick tho'.all the lugs are rounding off on the leading edge.just an fyi,my 28's measure out at 27.5 at 14 psi.
i'm 99% positive that the traxion apha is also the xps hammerforce rebranded that is offered on the commander xtp.the traxion aiso a whole lot cheaper as well.
Not a fan of the design what's with the one sided treads that'll do well at speed when you hit water and it shoots you to one side because both sides kick water to the left
It was a point that was overlooked. Actually we don't usually talk about the overall weight of the tire in these overviews. Something we can do in the future though...
@@dirttraxtv you guys actually did show the Traxion chart that shows sizes and weight etc. I'm running Sedona rockabilly's 30x10x14 right now on my 2022 Can Am maverick sport xxc 1000r and so far I like them but I'm pretty sure that my next set will be these tires...they almost were the first time. Plus I believe Traxion is a Canadian company so why not shop 🇨🇦👍🍻
Polaris is junk I was their largest dealership in the nation. Recalls constantly fires you name it . Now the recall on snowmobiles 230k plus for catching on fire . They terminated me for running down BLM and donated 250k to BLM ! They suck

traxion actually makes a winter specific utv snow tire.

Good review but can these be bought in the states? I see them for sale on Canadian sites
Look up vision journey crawler. Same thing rebranded. I have a set on my x3
Hey, how was the rip in the skeg with Ostacruiser?
Friggin' awesome!
What do they actually measure when mounted? Like the 30 or 32s
We didn't get those measurements. Something we are gonna do for future reviews.

Thank you for sharing.
Our pleasure!
So stock commander tires.
why no mention of weight?

These ones are actually 30x10xR14 and the Traxion website says they're about 35 lbs per tire.
