I live in a small mountain village, It rains almost all summer evenings. When I have to fix my car or my bikes, I listen the 1hour version of hurricos. Perfection.
They don't do that laugh in reignited, don't laugh at all or taunt you just aimlessly run around. Annoying as hell that they changed things that didn't need a change
+Girl Buscus What, the Gear Trolls - I mean Gear Grinders? Oh yeah, they were annoying to chase because they sometimes leaped over you, and then another gang of them would come along with that awful warning siren
Your comment is over a year old now, but that doesn't change the fact that it's eighteen times more insufferable and "cringeworthy" than the OP comment could ever dream of being. Thanks for "ironically" sperging out over some random meme that's been irrelevant for so long that it shouldn't be even remotely annoying anymore.
+WarriorOfTheHeavens Those Gear Grinder Thieves scared the shite of me. The first time I saw one of the galloping, gorilla reptile things, I was like "What the fuck is that?!"
I don't remember much from my childhood anymore, but I do remember the propeller jumping challenge in this level being a huge pain in the butt to do when you're 6
"We've always had trouble with the Gear Grinders but now they've set up force fields to separate us. If you can find diodes you can use them to turn off the force fields. I think there's a diode around here somewhere but my eyesight isn't what it used to be."
+Dmitri Franco Takes down 2 of them. Pfft, too easy. Anybody else wanna have a go? HIHA HA HA! I had to say it. If only I'd kept my gob shut (shakes head) (purple fucker runs off with stone) Hey, come back with that you shithead!
That ending! It's as if the entire song builds up to that one note at the very end, and the payoff is beautiful. All of the Spyro soundtracks are great, but this track really stands above the rest.
This level was amazing to me! One of my favorites. But the minigame with the lightning stones put me SO far up the wall with fear, being in the dark of the storm waiting when I suddenly heard the blare of sirens, it made me panic pretty hard and I was actually scared of the purple thieves because of the sheer ambience!
Those thieves laughing is what scared me as a kid too. One second everything would be calm, and then you heard the sirens and the laughs.... had me bugging out. O_O
Now that the remasters have been announced, I sincerely hope they keep the overall vibe of this second Spyro game, especially Hurricos and Colossus, those worlds were absolutely stunning. The scenic environments, the music, even the portal transitions were so perfect, those painted skies felt so magical.
I still find those creatures with the lightning stones super creepy. Especially when you hear one laugh and you cannot find it no matter what. Or you corner one and it jumps over you and disappears around the corner.
indeed! indeed, omg the feeling i get every time i here that laugh, i got scared lol and pumped up cause i wanted to be in time to get that electric bolder thingy
Italianbanker that part when one of those jumped over your head happened to me once and indeed he disappeared! i chased him and cornered him and thought: 'HA got ya loser !' but then he just jumps over my head AND ALL OF A SUDDEN HE DISAPPEARS ! I was like :O O.O HOW?! WHERE DID YOU GO?! just gone .__.
To me, this is one of the best tracks in the entire series. Definitely one of the most atmospheric. Maybe its the overall design of this level or the look, but I found myself loving to replay this level over and over again, missions and all.
Damn I should really start playing this game again. I still remember staying up all night playing through all these levels. I just can't get into modern video games these days mainly because my brother hogs the PS4 all the time playing NBA.
+Nuahsy speaking of... Oliver Wade (the character designer for spyro 1-2 and ps2 era R&C), did not design spyro 3's . Spyro 3's character designs where by Charles Zabillas (the character designer for nd era crash bandicoot, and the jak and sacred series). The most notable trait being agent 9's eyes / eyebrows
I started checking this video weekly to ensure this area was free of morons, but now I see that on December of 2015, someone decided to dislike this. I never thought I'd see the day. :(
I love this level a lot. It is cool how this portal is taking place in the rain, and there is Thunder. Plus those little characters that wore those glasses, or whatever they were, are actually really cute. The Moon-bow is a very nice touch, as well. :D
the planets deadliest animals (i think) (tv), rayman 2/tonic trouble. majora's mask (final hours) Planescape: torment (and many others). they used to be everywhere, as well as other packs like heart of africa, where that rumble from the begining comes from
That sound effect the begins at 0:25 is in a lot of ayumi hamasaki's music produced by HAL. Usually their HAL Remixes.. Whenever I hear it, I just think SPYRO!!! HURRICOS!! AHHHH
I've only played the first Spyro game as of now (I've played it to 120% three times), but this is my favorite song in the series. I'll probably ending up playing the other two Insomniac-produced games eventually.
This is one of the first video game songs that actually stuck with me when I was little. That, Colossus' funny humming and Spyro 1's menu theme. Fun fact: Spyro 1's menu theme may be the first video game song I had ever heard.
0:26 this instrument reminds me of the one used in "Orxon - Node Overload" track at 0:52 of Ratchet Deadlocked. Both level are industrial with a rainy weather and from games developped by IG
@BubbleBobble1996 Yeah, the voice actor for Spyro (in the second and third games) is the same voice actor for Spongebob. The sad thing is that I found that out ten years after Spongebob came out, even though I watched Spongebob and played the Spyro games a lot as a kid.
the scary thing about this level is that when you collect the bolt spheres all of a sudden you hear a siren randomly and you will see weird purple monsters trying to take back the spheres
I Miss the original Spyro :(, But theres no point us sulking about it, WE SHOULD BE GLAD HE EXISTED IN THE FIRST PLACE :D, SPYRO 2 IS WHERE MY CHILDHOOD WAS SO SHOUT OUT TO SPYRO/1-3!!!!!!!
@Pikanyaasan Thumbs up! That would be great! Or even better yet, get a group of game designers, tell them to play through Spyro 1, 2 and 3, and then tell them to make a game similiar to them, with spyro and all the other characters. And to tell them that gameplay is their top priority, graphics shouldn't be a huge thing. Honestly, if they released a new oldschool Spyro game, I personally wouldn't give a crap about the graphics.
That wasn't just me?! Wow its weird to see so many other people were scared of those things too lol i used to not want to do that part cuz the alarm scared me
this song reminds me of like, the kind of music where like someone would walk into a factory in like a movie or something, and as they look around all the machines are like turning screws and knobs and making stuff and it creats a rhythm and beat and stuff..
I actually like the remaster more than this version. Makes it feel more atmospheric and chill, and by comparison makes this one sound like it's JUST gears clanking
This remind anyone of some classic rock song? I've been trying for years to remember the song but I don't know any lyrics all I remember is this reminds me of it :D
I live in a small mountain village, It rains almost all summer evenings. When I have to fix my car or my bikes, I listen the 1hour version of hurricos. Perfection.
That awkward moment when Tom Kenny talks to himself.
You mean the entire game?
Heffer almost voices everyone!
It's amazing to listen to when it's raining.
+TheNathanNS Oddly soothing innit?
I agree with this comment!
When it's raining, I put this theme on repeat, sit at my bedroom window and stare at the rain!
+Kimmy Lister Cheers, Kimmy ☺
Liam Roberts You're welcome!
I love to listen to this with rainy mod on
There's just something atmospheric about this music whilst driving in a dark and wet rainy night. One of my favs from the Spyro series.
"Hurhahaha!" "Hurhahaha!" *Gear Grinders in background*
They used to freak me out when I first played this game; a 9 year old little girl T_T
They don't do that laugh in reignited, don't laugh at all or taunt you just aimlessly run around. Annoying as hell that they changed things that didn't need a change
FACTS😂😂😂😂😂😂
i hope that just after I die, I'll end up on a cliff in hurricos watching the rain and the cloudy sunset.
+Dharma Bum
+Dharma Bum but then without the annoying enemies :)
+Girl Buscus You talk about the robots with sirens?
that and those purple creepy guys
+Girl Buscus What, the Gear Trolls - I mean Gear Grinders? Oh yeah, they were annoying to chase because they sometimes leaped over you, and then another gang of them would come along with that awful warning siren
you wanna know what really grinds my gears? gear grinders.
Daniel Scharn *facepalms and laughs*
ahaha funny famly guy refreenrce!!!!!! peter what grinds his gear???? xDDDDDDD
Your comment is over a year old now, but that doesn't change the fact that it's eighteen times more insufferable and "cringeworthy" than the OP comment could ever dream of being. Thanks for "ironically" sperging out over some random meme that's been irrelevant for so long that it shouldn't be even remotely annoying anymore.
geez dude there no need to be rude about, it was only a joke no need to be salty.
I always thought this song is the perfect audible representation of the Hurricos world. So fitting
Facts, the rain constantly falling, the dark background in the sky. Perfect.
This song almost sounds incomplete without ther gear grinders laughing in the background
Omar Muhammad AR HAR HAR HAR! AR HAR HAR HAR!
***** I always thought they were saying BRACE HA HA HA! BRACE HA HA HA!
Don't forget them yelling *"GOOOOOOOO!"*
Or the rain sound effect
Them purple guys running around used to scare me as a kid
Fun fact: Tom Kenny voiced both Spyro and the Electrolls
Speaking of the Electrolls, I can't be the only one who find the buggers adorable
+Liam Roberts SPONGEBOB IS SPYRO!
That I know as well. Small world eh?
holy hell XD
even funner fact is that he used the Voice of Spongebob, before spongebob was made
Yes, he did. The Electrolls just sound like a slightly nerdier version of Spongebob
I love the music... it's so calm and relaxing, but as soon as those things with the sirens chased after you I would jump out of my skin.
Don't worry, I'll find the diodes and take them down.
+Dmitri Franco Takes down 2 of them. Pfft, too easy. Anybody else wanna have a go?
HIHA HA HA!
I had to say it. If only I'd kept my gob shut (shakes head)
(purple fucker runs off with stone)
Hey, come back with that you shithead!
That ending! It's as if the entire song builds up to that one note at the very end, and the payoff is beautiful. All of the Spyro soundtracks are great, but this track really stands above the rest.
This song and level creeped me out as a little kid, but I don't really know why.
3 pettle fans are scary
Old ass comment but for me personally it was the siren blaring robot. Always made me jump as a kid
Those sirens on those robots were LOUD. I had to cover my ears and play the entire level with my feet!
*Sirens go off*
*Grabs shotgun*
"I'M GONNA KICK YOUR THIEVING ASS!"
Spyro, Spongebob, Mayor of Townsville, Eduardo, Penguin... He helped shape almost all of our childhoods.
Good old Hurricos.
Plus I remember getting mad at the part where I had to place the Electric stones like GARRRG!
That bit is so annoying!! I watched a bit of a speedrun of the game and that bit wasted so much of the guy's time.
Feather Wait Oh yes
The background landscape and the music are both so excellent.
I kinda love the tools sounds at 0:25, it's been used in alot of other OST
Like Spyro Enter the Dragonfly's Title music???
And actual music.
Search up KMFDM - You're No Good
(wait...which again?)
***** Yes, it's called Lock'n'Load.
Also, Red Faction Guerrilla's OST has it, look for "Mission Destroy" :)
I think Spyro 2 was what introduced me to that sound effect. Always thought there would be a term for it.
Also it is in one of Jem's song, Amazing life
Sometimes when I'm out walking on them weird orange days where the sun is trying to break through raincloud I hear this song in my head.
Electricity and rain!
There was a glitch in this level.
Man that minigame was hard. Stewpid thieves stealin' mah electric stones!
***** I remember the purple lightning stone thieves. "Ha ha ha ha."
I love this game and his fkin music, specially this one and autumn plains...I love Spyro, i think Spyro 2 is the best Spyro game, so magical...
Stewart Copeland made the best Spyro soundtrack but this is amazing. Sounds like borderlands music kinda if it was raining.
Amen to that
He made all of the original trilogy soundtracks
Now that the remasters have been announced, I sincerely hope they keep the overall vibe of this second Spyro game, especially Hurricos and Colossus, those worlds were absolutely stunning. The scenic environments, the music, even the portal transitions were so perfect, those painted skies felt so magical.
whoever composed this, knew how to read the atmosphere, this goes pretty well on a rainy day.
The bass is so groovy
0:02 You Don't Care About Us
0:12 Another Day
By Michael Jackson
Reignited music swap option confirmed, hell yeah, boi.
CyberThunder I actually really like the remix of this. Glad they added that option in case
destinyb0nd Same here dude, I was having second thoughts for the other ones except this one and collosus.
The remix is faithful but the original ost completely blows it out the water imo
when those giants hit spyro with their wrenches... lol very traumatic when I was a kid xD
One of my fav levels, was pretty hard to get the metallic chests with the superspeed
Michael Jackson- (I Cant Make It) Another Day
0:12 I walked away but I was wrong! (I can't make it another day)
I still find those creatures with the lightning stones super creepy. Especially when you hear one laugh and you cannot find it no matter what. Or you corner one and it jumps over you and disappears around the corner.
i just can hear one of those guys laughing when i hear this music
Italianbanker Uah hah hah hah
indeed! indeed, omg the feeling i get every time i here that laugh, i got scared lol and pumped up cause i wanted to be in time to get that electric bolder thingy
Still an iconic song to listen to on those rainy nights.
it feels weird without the 'HAHAHA!'s
And the "OOF!" When you killed those gear thieves
To me, this is one of the best tracks in the entire series. Definitely one of the most atmospheric. Maybe its the overall design of this level or the look, but I found myself loving to replay this level over and over again, missions and all.
Our mission is simple.
*Take them out*
Wait wrong game
Damn I should really start playing this game again. I still remember staying up all night playing through all these levels. I just can't get into modern video games these days mainly because my brother hogs the PS4 all the time playing NBA.
BTW did anyone know that the Gear Grinders and Robots in this level inspired the designs of Ratchet and Clank?
Interesting I did not know that!
well that would make sense. since its insomniac games.
Good ol Oliver wade
+Nuahsy speaking of... Oliver Wade (the character designer for spyro 1-2 and ps2 era R&C), did not design spyro 3's . Spyro 3's character designs where by Charles Zabillas (the character designer for nd era crash bandicoot, and the jak and sacred series). The most notable trait being agent 9's eyes / eyebrows
+Puffy the Destroyer (correction: jak and Daxter
Whatever it is raining at my place,i always associate that type of weather to this music
I played this level sooo much as a kid. don't know why I just liked playing around in it.
I really really hated this level, it made me feel depressed but I loved the score for it XD
Anyone still come back to this? I sure do. 2018
BlueNightfury I do 👌
I started checking this video weekly to ensure this area was free of morons, but now I see that on December of 2015, someone decided to dislike this. I never thought I'd see the day. :(
+Dmitri Franco There are some very sad people out there...
+Liam Roberts Yes sir...
Lucky for you, over 6 years later we don't have to worry about the dislike button ever again
@@theace8502 Which draws the ire of RUclips's founders
Those white noise scrapes at 00:26 seconds are in metroid prime hunters' menu theme
I love how spyro 2 sounds like the original but also has a new beat
I can hear those things laughing still
I just love this level
I can roam around it for hours
Amo este sonido. I LOV HURRICOS

Carlos Javier Serrano No, soy español jajaja. Tú eres venezolano ?
I absolutely loved this level it had such a great atmosphere
So relaxing...
I love this level a lot. It is cool how this portal is taking place in the rain, and there is Thunder. Plus those little characters that wore those glasses, or whatever they were, are actually really cute. The Moon-bow is a very nice touch, as well. :D
The very very end of this is soft but amazing. And just I dont know how to explain it but I love it.
No need to try and explain, I know exactly what you're talking about.
Distorted reality and other sample packs are so beautiful... Shame composers just stopped using em
Puffy the Destroyer Do you know other examples of this sort of thing?
the planets deadliest animals (i think) (tv),
rayman 2/tonic trouble.
majora's mask (final hours)
Planescape: torment
(and many others). they used to be everywhere, as well as other packs like heart of africa, where that rumble from the begining comes from
I get the same feeling. Almost like the entire song builds up to that one note at the end.
yeah right? i love this level too. im glad i still have the spyro trilogy :)
THE MAN dude we are the exact same!
Including the part about Hurricos being your favorite song so far?
This is one of the first video game songs that actually stuck with me when I was little. That, Colossus' funny humming and Spyro 1's menu theme. Fun fact: Spyro 1's menu theme may be the first video game song I had ever heard.
Who knew that playing this level would provide me with some basic terminology for a career in electrical engineering.
sweetness bass line...this one was always one of my favorite levels because of the mechanic-sounding music, and i like the rainy levels
tottally agree it was a nightmare, one time i got out of that zone and the alarm still went off scared the crap out of me
The satisfaction when listening to tbs is unreal 😍
This*
Look up the band Boards of Canada
i shall do
i remeber when on a rain nigth play and this level is raining too.
saludos desde mexico
I always think of this song after it stops raining.
Can’t wait to hear this synced with the reignited version
La infancia, preservando los recuerdos y generando más.
0:26 this instrument reminds me of the one used in "Orxon - Node Overload" track at 0:52 of Ratchet Deadlocked. Both level are industrial with a rainy weather and from games developped by IG
this sounds brilliant when played with rainymood....it feels like its actually raining
@BubbleBobble1996
Yeah, the voice actor for Spyro (in the second and third games) is the same voice actor for Spongebob. The sad thing is that I found that out ten years after Spongebob came out, even though I watched Spongebob and played the Spyro games a lot as a kid.
I shitted my pants when I was kid whenever I came across those damn purple thieves. That was a chore to me lmao.
The laidback ending of this song
Those purple Gear Grinders scared the living shiz outta me when the alarm when off.
I used to think the pat-pat.. pat-pat sounds in the theme were the footsteps of those purple monsters bounding around
If you listen closely, this is a subtle remix of Sunny Beach.
Great to listen to high
the scary thing about this level is that when you collect the bolt spheres all of a sudden you hear a siren randomly and you will see weird purple monsters trying to take back the spheres
This one sounds like one of those themes that play while you are selecting your car in one of those need for speed games for ps1
I Miss the original Spyro :(, But theres no point us sulking about it, WE SHOULD BE GLAD HE EXISTED IN THE FIRST PLACE :D, SPYRO 2 IS WHERE MY CHILDHOOD WAS SO SHOUT OUT TO SPYRO/1-3!!!!!!!
i love this song it really deep and powerful :)
I dont know why, but they always scared me when I was little, too, lol! Whenever they came I'd run away like "NONONONONO"
Wow its weird to see so many other people were scared of those things too lol i used to not want to do that part cuz the alarm scared me
The bonus area where you have to turn on all of the generators... hardest side quest in the game.
This level creeped me out as a kid
insanely excited for the remasters!
this song reminds me of like, the kind of music where like someone would walk into a factory in like a movie or something, and as they look around all the machines are like turning screws and knobs and making stuff and it creats a rhythm and beat and stuff..
The mouse sounded so much like Spongebob in this level. I was just waiting for Tom to do the laugh.
Hurricos level is just like Po Valley in Italy: grey, bad weather, polluted, with factories.
one of my favourite games ever
Anyone else love Hurricos as much as I do?!
The only thing i can really remember is the thunder and the lonely squeaking of the rats.
I actually like the remaster more than this version. Makes it feel more atmospheric and chill, and by comparison makes this one sound like it's JUST gears clanking
i used to get scared when the alarm comes on when you have to catch those things in that mission i always cover my ears.
Whenever I played this level I would always sing along to the sounds like "what up what up aqua aqua" :D
That happened to me, too! I got the talisman and was about to exit the world. Then the alarm went off and was all like "What the heck?!"
I first thought the purple monsters who stole the fuses looked and laughed like Grover!
Best theme in the game in my opinion
I always loved that last bit. but I never thought it like you did, though I must say it sounds like an amazing idea.
This remind anyone of some classic rock song? I've been trying for years to remember the song but I don't know any lyrics all I remember is this reminds me of it :D
