Great advice Nick. I admire your confidence. I’m in a business which involves talking to people a lot, specifically cold calling. I’m at a point now where I’ve hid behind emails and texts too long and feel I really need to start having actual conversations with people, but the very thought terrifies me. Your video has greatly inspired me though, so thanks for posting 🤎
My pleasure. Never let your stutter hold you back. In business your clients want an outcome if you can deliver the outcome who cares if you stutter. Stay strong!
Hi Pramendra, thank you for your comment. I am glad that you have found some value from this advice. As people who stutter we do have some challenges to overcome and its important that we share our experiences and help each other. I wish you well . Nick
Thank you very much for your knowledge. As a new manager I find answering calls particularly difficult as I can't warm up as you put it as I get a rise in anxiety hearing the ringtone. Do you have any suggestions to combat this? Thanks again, I hope to reach your confidence level one day. Cheers.
Hi LB, try to relax yourself when you hear the ring tone and concentrate on breathing. Imagine that when the phone rings its someone else who stutters on the phone and start the conversation slowly and in control. Start speaking on a exhaling breath. Each time you manage the phone successfully that is a victory for you. Fluency is nor the objective its more about you being comfortable and being able to communicate in the best way for you.Speak under your terms not anyone else's and remember the phone is not your enemy its just a tool.
this is so helpful! thank you Nick
My pleasure Isaac, I will be posting some new video soon.

Great video, it really helps, I find it very hard to talk on the phone, but I’m eventually getting there. Thanks for the great advice.
Hang in there Raul, take your time, be comfortable and speak with confidence in a way that best suits you and not the other person.
