  • Don't miss this amazing factory tour at ACI Boats in Port Townsend, Washington. ACI is well known for their all welded heavy gauge aluminum catamarans, but they also build state of the art commercial fishing boats like Pacific Northwest crabbers and Bristol Bay gillnetters. ACI founder Cory Armstrong brings decades of aluminum boat building experience to ACI Boats.

Rob, this was the best boat builder factory tour I have ever seen. I've looked at a lot of welded aluminum boats, but the features of the hull design in the ACI Cat's make them stand out (as well as their interior fit and finish). Great video!

After serving in the Military (UK), I spent 35 years in Ship Building and Repair. Your Boats and your Facility are way and above anything I have seen. Absolutely beautiful Craft and World beating equipment. Love it.❤️

Please go visit Brix Marine. I have wanted to see a real tour of their boats but they only post short videos with very limited content.

I really liked the tour. So, instead of having to walk the catch around the outboard engines or around the cabin, why not put another landing door on the port side of the boat?

Great observation Bogey! The only problem is that when a fish, especially a hard fighting tuna, runs under the boat the line needs to be cleared so that it doesn’t hit the hull or lower unit. One touch on the hull under extreme pressure can mean a broken off fish. By working the fish around the stern and to the other side the line is clear and there’s far less risk of a costly break off. You aren’t the only one to ask that question though. Appreciate the feedback and thanks for watching Bogey 👍

This is the “This Old House” of boats. You need the boat owner there with some new safety glasses doing some elementary level work.
