  • ( tflcar.com/ ) In this video, Roman and Tommy take a closer look at two notably different approaches to big, family luxury SUVs. The 2021 Lexus LX 570 is an elegant take on old school style and comfort, while the 2021 Cadillac Escalade leans hard into new technology to go with its fresh styling and V8 power. Lexus loses it value just like any other luxury vehicle. So I wouldn't believe the wive's tale about Lexus holding their value. Residual values are set by the banks and the food chain of auction and dealerships just play along to make as much money as they can out the consumers.

Manufacturers of the top of the line are not marketing to the secondary market, they only care about the first owner, what happens after the warranty is out doesn't matter. The people who buy the Lexus care more about resale value, the person buying the Caddy cares less. For anyone who cannot drop 120k and not financially feel it, buy the Lexus. It's interesting to me that these huge 3 row SUVs all begin their usefulness as a family/kids hauler. But by the time they're 7, 8, 10+ years old that demographic of buyers typically isn't looking for the same thing rather they want a big 4x4 that's good in winter, capable off road and can haul stuff, often eschewing their 3rd row seats all together by removing them permanently. Large SUVs are amazingly versatile, especially over their later years.

As of now, i own a 2021 LX 570 and its been 2 years of ownership and i am already tired of it. The thing is the tech inside the vehicle is 2000's even though many people would agree for the fact that it is reliable and good resale value. I've even owned a Land Cruiser. it was the same issue with it. My advice to someone buying these vehicles is that, If you plan on keeping cars for atleast 10 years or more, you can go for Toyota/Lexus but you intend to change vehicles every 6-7 years then you can go for any American SUV. I paid around 540K AED (147K USD) for the Lexus. But apart from the interior quality , the rest is just not up to the level. I even own a Mercedes S-Class coupe 2020 the car is fantastic and one more thing i would loke to say is that, if you maintain your car very well regardless of any brand then it can even last a life.

The LC was much more attractive IMO, and I wish that Toyota had kept up with the tech for it as it aged.
The caredge depreciation percentages after 5 years for these is remarkably similar. And for people that are owning longer than that, I suspect that repairs will be less expensive on the Cadillac, since many internal parts are shared by the other common GM SUVs.

The diamond is the Escalade and the outdated, overpriced junk is the Lexus.

Indeed! The caddie is more cubic zirconium 😄

Alex on autos would argue that the diamond is more efficient

Lexus designs their cars to last 20 years. That’s why you get in 90s and 2000s Lexus’s and everything works and all the plastic is still in tact

@@kristians2704, I have an LX570 and care about that. If I didn’t care, I STILL wouldn’t buy a caddy (they’re just impersonating luxury vehicles), I’d buy an unreliable Range Rover.
