The devel 16 then resurfaced only its practically a body modified Corvette c8 with a v8 turbo that they claimed was 2000bhp but turned out to be 800hp done by some Italian mob nobody has ever heard of. Utterly ridiculous

For the 304 mph run of the Bugatti Chiron Michelin reinforced their Pilot Super Sport with carbon fiber, i think 1 set of those costs over 40.000$...and another 50 mph on top?! He took money to lie though. The engine was already developed he took their money to machine some rocker covers up with the devel16 logo then dynod it one last time with the new covers before shipping it out to Saudi where its still sitting in a crate. He admits now he no longer deals with them and would make another for "six or seven times the price of an SMX" so £700k

You do have to take into consideration they probably took almost 10 years just trying to redevelop a ls to be a v16 and take that much boost. I'd prefer to see this in another 10 years fully developed and safe for a hyper car. On the point of the merchandise for the vehicle I'd try to make any money possible to spend on development. The better the product the higher the price tags.
