This is by far the prettiest star I have seen to date. Your video is very good and clear and easy to follow. I look forward to viewing more by you. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for this, I followed along and got scared starting the second side but I did it and got it, 🙌 only been beading for about a year so I'm so happy. Thank you again 💐🙏
After making this size version a couple of times, I had a bit of a fiddle and managed to make a smaller star. However, it shrank the central hole down to a 5-bead ring, so perhaps not exactly an "open" shape in the same way. Still, it's cute and the exact same techniques for the rows and adding the second side seemed to work, so I'm pretty happy with it.
OK I did my first star. Your instructions were clear and concise and the nice thing about a video is that I could back it up if I missed something. Great little beaded star too. Love it!!
What a wonderful video tutorial, I am a very visual person and your videos really helps, I have made 3 pairs of earrings so far and they all turn out beautiful!! Thank you very much!! Please do more seed beads stuff, I love seed beads work so much!
Hi, I love this little star. Did you happen to make a vid on making a larger star? There was a comment and answer below about having to decrease on multiple rows when expanded. I don’t think I understand that bit and would love to make a larger star for Xmas gifts. Thank you so much for sharing 😍😊☃😊😍
I was thrilled to actually complete one it looks exactly like yours! My first one didn't work out so well and I think of it as an original LOL however the second time around I was able to make a perfect one! Thank you so so much
I think I will try one with 8/0 delicas just to see how it looks. Absolutely love this star! It would make a beautiful christmas ornament. Thanks so much for this tutorial. Please keep em coming.
This is one of the best tutorials I've watched. Thank you for the clear instructions and explanations. I'm going to go pick out some beads and try one out right now! :-)
Thank You soooo much - it's beautiful! I've just finished my first one and it was fun! Great tutorial, very clear and extremely helpful. THANK YOU again!
Thanks so much for this tutorial! I've been looking for star patterns and this is one of the prettiest! I finished one this evening. Looks fantastaic! Will definitely be making many more! :)
very cool. The only part I am playing around with is where you skip between two beads and there is a thread path. I tried adding a 15/0 and it looks cute will see if that works out
Why not? I’m sure this project would be fine with seed beads. Try to choose regular ones with not too much size variation. Let me know how it turns out!!
Question, if you choose to add extra rows to the star would the peyote areas increase in beads also?? Your work is very beautiful. I would like to make a few for my tree this year.
I've made 4 of the small ... just like in your video. Can you give a little instruction if we start with 9 main color beads in each section? I tried going to 9 rows but it isn't looking right so I am pulling it out. Not sure what I am doing wrong.
Wonderful stars. Thanks so much for tutorial. I have a question about continuing past 6 rows. If you want to make additional rows do you decrease every 3 rows? How does this work.
Yes, you would continue the decrease cycle started in the first rows....decrease, then put one bead in the decrease, then a row of regular peyote, then decrease again. Hope that helps! Post a photo if you make something like this! :-)
I've gone up to 8 rows (starting with the original 2 accent/5 regular beads) and they look so fantastic! I haven't been able to stop making them! LOL!! They make such beautiful pendants! I also skip adding the 3rd 'accent' bead on the star tips until I'm actually zipping it up; that way you can keep adding more rows if you change your mind.
Really well done tutorial. I, too, like to understand what I'm doing rather than just follow a pattern. Already at 4:40 I had an ah-h moment of understanding. I am definitely going to give this a whirl! Love the colors you used. In certain colors, red, silver, gold, lined crystal, etc., these will be gorgeous on my 2018 Christmas tree! I agree, 2-sided had more substance and looks more finished.
Seed Bead Bliss thank yoy, with having to rely on the Internet for beads it's nice to have the color numbers to get started. now, how do I decide which star to do first, this one or the gold/red puffy one. thank you again
A lot of the confusion with the second layer can be avoided by starting the second layer at the first stacked herringbone location rather than where you start the second layer. Hope that helps someone.
I know you have several positive comments here, but I have to say, your tutorial was the most difficult for me to follow out of the many I have seen on this platform. I had to closely watch which bead the string was going into and where it came out, and where you skipped and when you stepped up. There were a few times that either your fingers or the dialog box of what you were saying was in the way or your fingers and needle were not in the video because they were too low. I can tell you the number of times I had to watch and go back 10, 20 or 30 seconds to rewatch again and again. I’ve watched videos where there was no talking that were easier to learn from. :-(
thankyou sm for the tutorial!! used 6mm X 9mm Kandi beads and it turned out awesome!
Same!
This is by far the prettiest star I have seen to date. Your video is very good and clear and easy to follow. I look forward to viewing more by you. Thank you so much.
Donna Hoefler many thanks for your feedback😀 I love these stars too⭐️⭐️⭐️
I found your tutorial to be very easy to follow and the stars came out so cute! Thank you for generously sharing your talent.
Oh, I found the vid for the larger star …. I’m so excited. Thank you. Happy Holidays 🎄☃🎄
Thank you so much for this, I followed along and got scared starting the second side but I did it and got it, 🙌 only been beading for about a year so I'm so happy. Thank you again 💐🙏
Wow! You must be talented because that is a challenge for a short time beader. Congrats!

I used size 8/0 seed beads and 13 beads across for a lovely ornament for my neighbor. Thank you.
Love your clear video presentation, I plan on trying the star this weekend.

Cool idea with 8/0s--it should work fine! Would make a great ornament!!
Thank you for the lovely star.❤

I love your work, thank you once again with this tutorial. Best wishes
Thank you for your clear tutorial..i have enjoyed learning from your videos
Me encantan los vídeos aunque no hablo inglés los entiendo muy bien Gracias desde Suiza 🇨🇭 un grande saludo
I like the but once i get to the second side i get lost on row 3. I feel your not showing it good enough what bead the needle goes in next.
You're awesome and my inspiration for 2018!!
Love you sweetie!
Thank you very much for the great tutorial
Very good video, thanks!
Hi!!! These are beautiful!! I would like to know if this would work with regular seed beads? I'm unable to find or afford to order delica beads.
Why not? I’m sure this project would be fine with seed beads. Try to choose regular ones with not too much size variation. Let me know how it turns out!!
I used size 11 toho beads. Came out great if not the same.
Thank You soooo much - it's beautiful!
I am having trouble seeing when you pick up a bead sometimes. Can this be done with 11os & 8os? I don't have delicas.... Thanks... 😊
Muy hermoso su proyecto, Dios le bendiga siempre, felicitaciones
Thank you for sharing. I really want to make these, but what size Delica did you use?
Size 11 but you could try other sizes.
I wonder if these are easier to make than the hearts...
WOULD this work with 11/0 OR 6/0 or 8/0 seed beads???? I hope so :D
How do you make the center bigger?
Question, if you choose to add extra rows to the star would the peyote areas increase in beads also?? Your work is very beautiful. I would like to make a few for my tree this year.
Yes-you can keep following the increase cycle to make them as big as you want. Just keep adding peyote stitches to each side also. Good luck!
Gorgeous!
I've made 4 of the small ... just like in your video. Can you give a little instruction if we start with 9 main color beads in each section? I tried going to 9 rows but it isn't looking right so I am pulling it out. Not sure what I am doing wrong.
I will see what I can do. May do a new video as I've had a lot of inquiries about this. Stay tuned.
Thanks. I will post picture
I've gone up to 8 rows (starting with the original 2 accent/5 regular beads) and they look so fantastic! I haven't been able to stop making them! LOL!! They make such beautiful pendants!

I love it! So glad to hear! Post a photo--I would love to see :-)
Where/how do I post photos?
What kind of thread are you using?
could you possibly tell me, what size are your delica beads? no sound at the moment so am just watching your excellent tut!!
They are size 11, although you could certainly use a different size!
Thank you for this was amazing!
hi, do you know the name of the blue beads? beautiful work. thanks for the tutorial
The blue beads are Miyuki delicas, color #006. It's one of my favorite colors--I use that one a lot!
Seed Bead Bliss thank yoy, with having to rely on the Internet for beads it's nice to have the color numbers to get started. now, how do I decide which star to do first, this one or the gold/red puffy one. thank you again
I've been having so much fun. I trusted you, and yes, it worked out! ! thank you
I'm so glad it did! :-)
Hermosa!!
Gracias por compartir 😊🌷
Thank you darling it is so useful 🌹
Beautiful 👏🥰
so pretty but need to see it in the frame.
A lot of the confusion with the second layer can be avoided by starting the second layer at the first stacked herringbone location rather than where you start the second layer. Hope that helps someone.
Okay, but what is a herringbone?
Ellerinize sağlık Çok güzel olmuş
Good detail Thankyou
Note to self, don’t do your first star with colors very close together. Makes step ups very hard to see! Thank you for the easy to follow tutorial.
Can you follow this but with pony beads??
yes! just made a pony bead star and it turns out almost exactly the same
А с хвостиком в итоге что? Мы его просто обрежем?
What are the size of the Delica beads please?
Delicas are 11os
if I make some in my own colors do you want some pictures of how I did mine?
Sure! Post them on my facebook page, Seed Bead Bliss.
what needle are you useing cant seem to find any that will thread 6lb fireline
I use a size 10 or 12 if necessary. Flatten the end of the fireline to make it go thru,
