The US use metric ton, majority just don't know for what. For example boat, even the military one, are weight using the metric ton. I dunno about plane but I presume it's the same thing, especially if they fly international(outside of US). Grain(farm), for international commerce when shipped are weight using the metric ton also.
@@Potoum The military uses metric for NATO. The international flying community uses US standard units although for weight that is probably company specific so there will be both used. Only china and russia use meters instead of feet.
You two looked like you were having loads of fun. Earlier today I was thinking about the simulation you & Kyle did at the Expo you went to and now you've just sealed that you are the best!🤣Thanks for sharing, Chris.
Thanks for taking us along bro it was very entertaining guys, thanks must go to Volvo for letting you and Mike loose on the new machinery. Safe travels
The haul trucks on site we operated in the quarry were loaded to the gills. No one worried about the weight. Load it until it's running over the sides and go.
You two are awesome. Makes my day when you make videos together. It's always nice to see friends having a good time. Specifically after all the hard work you guys do.
The 180s are a good thing, but man, have I spent some hours in L120Fs 😁👌 Our mining company has them in our fleet all over Australia, carrying man-baskets, for jib work, forks and bucket work. They are an amazingly reliable piece of gear 👌
The real reliability depends on the operators. We have 5 L220s, and some had a rough life because of the negligence of the operators.:(( Fun little machines, but I prefer the 350 and the 🐱 988, because they are a lot more stable thus provide a better ride on our awful roads at our asphalt recycling plant.
These Chris vs Mike videos always make me smile, because Mike is ultra competitive, but Chris is always the man with a plan. He knows how he is going to maximise the load before he climbs in the loader. I can remember Chris saying in previous videos that he loads from the back, because that creates a barrier to hold more load dumped in the front. This looked to be what was happening till we saw the other angle from the top of the heap, which appeared to show some space at the front, but it was still a lot less space than Mike left. The equipment was super impressive, and I would say Volvo will be happy because a lot of operators must watch Chris and Mike's channels.
My life is complete, I now know what a short ton is! 😀 I've heard of the blue man crew, but thank you yellow men crew!. Psst we saw the spilled gravel! 😉
Glad you had a fun day out at the "Volvo challenge". I thought it was evening, Really bad weather rolling in on your fun. Safe driving home. Have a great week.
Spade nosed buckets have been around for decades, most spade nosed buckets are used in mining applications or hard aggregate pits and are usually a toothed bucket and on bigger machines like 988 Cat sized and larger loaders generally speaking.
A short ton is less than a (long or UK) ton or a metric tonne. UK ton is 2240 lbs because we have 112lbs to a hundredweight. American weights come up short just like the gallon is less than UK because we have 20 fl oz to a pint vs 16.
That all we run at my work, Volvo 150s. Man, they are a work of art. Perfect tool for doing underground utilities. I have lifted manhole bases weighing over 10tons (very slowly and carefully) across jobsite without any issues
Chris/Mike you two are a hoot , the banter between you hilarious , what a great video, always a good laugh when you and Mike get together, that new Volvo gear is pretty darn nice 👍
Dang Chris it's pretty cool that u can go to the Volvo dealership or whatever it is and play around on the equipment. Lucky. U don't steer the loader the the steering wheel?
I loved how you asked about short tons and metric ones. I'm from England, UK. I grew up with Pounds, Inches, Feet & Yards. It's taken my whole life so far (I'm 50 years old) to admit that metric is easier for measuring. Still have to know Imperial for chuck sizes etc, but I'm happy with that. Oh great Video as usual BTW.
3 months from now, we’ll see DP’s version of this. 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
We will learn how Mike cheated because he loves trying to figure out how to cheat big deal 18.
you misspelled “years” 😂😂
@@unique1991- Right!!! 😂🤣
Thank you, Dirtperfect, Letsdig18 and Volvo for this video. Fun video to watch.
Love to see Mike and Chris hang out at auctions and equipment testing ... always good fun .
Good to see Mike and you having fun on the tours. That has to be different running via joystick instead of using the wheel!
Huuuuge difference, I run a l220h at an asphalt plant and the joystick helps so much in fast paced work.
It's always great when Chris and Mike collaborate. BTW, a metric ton is 1000 kilograms or almost 2205 pounds.
The US use metric ton, majority just don't know for what.

@@wilburfinnigan2142 Nope, he said it was 2300 pounds which is why I mentioned it.

Let's get ready to rumble!
The lack of a Pepsi holder caused him problem
Loved the little laugh in the cab, when you put that last scoop in. You knew it would beat DP's total. 😂❤

All the Different Equipment available is Amazing and Off the Charts, Expensive. 👍
Oh boy. I just read that as Amazon instead of Amazing.
@@splatterize Jeff Bezos just sent you a subliminal message to spend heavily

I love the way the engine cover slopes up to meet the rear cab window. Very futuristic
Moving the truck sounds like something I'd do.

Hello all from Siesta Key Florida

shows you the difference between a Volvo operator and a Hyundai operator🤣
You've got that right.
Go team Volvo
Brilliant vid more playing with excavators/machines please love it lol
I would love to hear Mr. Millennial comment on DP in the loader lol
Great way to display Volvo and have some fun - suggest both were learners! Still prefer Barney and Bubba Dump - they have unique characters.
What’s the green flashers on the machines for ? Great that you could learn DP the wheel loader game 👍🏻
As its Chris and Mike together I just, 👍 as you know it's going to be epic. 🤗
gobsmacked how smooth that loader is when LD18 is running it, bucket design is new too
No there have been buckets like that for a long time.

4:50 Mikey standing there pouting 😆 🤣
Is that in Shippensburg?
That teuck is so cool. What a huge amount it can move around.
You both did good, neither one spon the wheels with the loader ,you past the test. Chris did spill more leaving booger piles
Time for a new "Dumper" now Stumpy ?? Really nice machines!
In IT we have the acronym PEBKAC - Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair. I guess you can use PEBWAC - Problem Exists Between Wheel And Chair

I operate Volvo wheel loaders for some years now.And its funny to see Chris ( very talented operator on escavators) load that truck like a rookie :)
You where having way to much fun. :) Have a safe trip and welcome home. :) Thank you and have yourself a great day.
If only we had Logger Wade and Man Behind the Scenes colour commentating!!

Well done. It seems the new dump truck dumps a little quicker than Barnie.
Good job loading the off road Chris Nice loader
would not be hard to make things difficult for DP. Chris will always be the number 1 operator.
Gotta give DP credit- he hasnt been doing this since he was 18 years old!!
@@cathiwim oh well
You guys are great.
Just give him the operator my ass sticker and call it good!
I ran a 988 H with a 15 yard bucket loading petroleum coke at a refinery in NW Indiana. No scales just guess work
How would you like to have that new haul truck Chris?
interesting front shape on the bucket, not straight like others I've seen
Great job buddy and great video as always buddy thanks for sharing 😎👊🏻👍🏻
Awesome job guys!🤣😂
Just like taking the kids to the adventure playground lol
Didn't think Mike had enough Volvo machines to get a pass to the event ?
