G'day Maddie! We now know that your prodigious artistic talents aren't limited to your end-of-show displays. The use of the broken baler was quite creative. How you worked in the clay as a stand and to cover the breaks was great. I have been thinking of how to use a large apple snail shell as a "home" for a little air plant for a long time. I have a nice apple snail shell and the air plant, just lacking your creativity as to how to put them together in an attractive display. I will use your episode to inspire me. Happy Holidays and thanks so much for filming (and creating)!
G'day Jan 👋🏻💖 I wouldn't say prodigious, but I think all us shell-people have a bit of a creative side if we have the chance to unleash it 😂 just like your lovely shell art project you told me about too! Also, I fully recommend trying Polymer clay sometime; absolutely zero mess and only a short time in the oven to harden it! It goes a long way if you use something like tin foil as the inside (as the clay is twice as expensive as air dry clay here) but so much fun!!! Ahhh sorry, I started gushing about my new toy 😂 An Apple Snail will be perfect for an air plant 🤩 Hmmm, how to combine them? What were you thinking to do for it; do you want to stand it somehow or suspend it? Maybe a handmade macrame hanger for it, though it might gen in the way of your air plant. I'll be interested to hear your DIY ideas too. Thank you so much for watching this odd DIY video this time 🥰 I hope you have a fantastic week learning up to Christmas, and a relaxing and enjoyable day on the 25th 🎄
Maddie, How beautiful. The blue and white make it look like water. How the waves are blue with white tips. The plant and the dark wood base are wonderful. Very beautiful. Thank you for taking us along on a wonderful shell find project. To me, it is still another wonderful shelling adventure. Have a great day, Maddie
G'day Toni 👋🏻💖 Thank you so much!! That's a great way to see the blue and white, I wish I could say that it was on purpose, but I just happened that way 😂 I’m so glad that it worked well with the natural wood and plant 🪴! Awww thank you again 🙏🏻 I’m relieved that this is still a fun shelling adventure, even though it’s an odd DIY video this time 🥰 I hope you have a fantastic week learning up to Christmas, and a relaxing and enjoyable day on the 25th 🎄
@ShellingAdventures you have a happy 25th and 1st as well. I got cards out late, so you will get it very late. Just because it was more of a DIY project does not mean it is not dealing with the shelling adventure in you.
G’day Alison 👋🏻💖 Thank you so much for enjoying this little DIY video today ❤️ it’s such an odd thing compared to my usual shelling adventures, so I am relieved that you liked it ☺️ and the overall look of the planter…I was sure I’d be the only one to like this aesthetic! Thank you again for watching 🥰
I LOVED ❤❤❤ THIS VIDEO!!! WOW WOW WOW! You are so creative Maddie. I love that you😅 showed us something to do with our shells. 🐚🐚🐚 I hope you will do that more often and do some more nasty shell clean-ups. Great job! 🥰🥰🥰
G'day Pam 👋🏻💖 Oh my goodness, you loved it??!! Thank you so much for your kind words 🙏🏻 I don't know if it's something that I'd do too often (probably end-of-year stuff) and I don't often pick up the super rough shells...but maybe if they're big balers, I might just take notice and try some more crafts with them! Once again Pam, thank you so, so much for enjoying and watching this video 🥰 I appreciate the support on a such an odd type of video (for me to make, anyway) 🙏🏻
G'day Annie 👋🏻💖 Thank you so much; I feel like shell collectors are creative people deep down 😉 I imagine that you, with your crafty talents, could make something even better with a big shell! Thank you so much for watching this different kind of video 🥰 and for your support 🙏🏻 I wish you a very Merry Christmas if don't get to say it sooner. Stay safe out there; people are crazy on the roads and in the shops!
G'day Leslie 👋🏻💖 Ohhh I didn't think of it like that!! A hermit crab air plant 🦀☘️ what a novel thought 😁!! Thank you so much for watching this odd shell DIY video today 🥰 I absolutely appreciate you humouring my crafty side 🙏🏻
G'day Denise 👋🏻🐚❤️ Thank you so much 🤩; it certainly was a step up from the broken shell on the mudflats 😲 I wish you a wonderful end to 2024, and Happy holidays 🎊 Thank you so much for watching something a little bit different today 🥰
G'day Donna 👋🏻💖 Thank you so much 🙏🏻 I do like to be creative, though I don't do much diy stuff other than making the shelling videos and shell displays at the end of them 😂 My goodness, this video was so much different than those; thank you so much for watching this odd crafty one today 🥰🥰🥰
G'day Heidi 👋🏻🏖️💖 I don't think it took you any kind of time at all 🤩 Thank you so much for watching this odd crafty video 🥰🥰🥰 I'm relieved that you enjoyed the process and the result 😀 maybe you'll find a big broken shells somewhere, and use it for your own greenery or garden 🏡 Thanks again for watching 🙏🏻
Hello Maddie...I love what you did with the Baler shell ! Very creative and it turned out great. Thanks for taking us along on it's journey!! Cheers from Ontario. Canada................Wanda
G'day Wanda 👋🏻💖 I'm relieved that you liked the result; I thought only I'd like it!! Thank you so, so much for watching such a different video today 🥰 it was really fun to do this while the weather has been challenging 🌧️
G’day Melissa 👋🏻💖 I’m so glad you liked it!!! Ohhhh and I’m super pleased that I’ve inspired a fellow crafter; I hope you find one of your broken shells and see the potential for something more 🤩 Also, I just want to say a big THANK YOU for watching such a different kind of adventure today; those crafty in is a bit of an odd one among all of the usual shelling adventures. Thank you so much for watching 🥰 PS if you make anything, feel free to show it off to me!!
Wow, this is really unexpected and cool, Maddie! 👍👍👍 I expected there to be some kind of shell souvenir. And I saw a poster with a cool flower pot made of a shell and an unusual exotic plant and thought how stylish and cool it was, and only then it dawned on me that this was a poster for a video from your channel about a craft made from a shell😊. So definitely a big plus for this stylish piece!👍👍👍
G'day Mikhail 👋🏻🏖️ Haha, yes, this was an very unexpected video of turning a shell in a craft project 😲 I've always wanted to do craft videos, but I never have a lot of motivation to do them 😂 Thank you so much for saying it's cool...I was worried that only I would like it!! Thank you for watching; it really was an odd video this time 🥰 and a very Happy New Year to you tonight 🎆
@ShellingAdventures G'day Maddie 😊🎅🎄👋 Yes, this craft turned out very cool! 🔥🔥🔥👍When I saw it I thought, wow, what a cool designer piece, and then it dawned on me that this is what you were talking about. I just thought it would be something like a panel of shells or a figurine made of shells😅 Comments are still working for me, it’s good that I saw the answer right away😊! Happy New Year, Maddie! You are the first person I congratulate today, I just woke up and haven’t congratulated anyone yet🤭😹😹😹 Happy New Year, Maddie!!! 🎅🎄🎄🎄
G'day Reet 👋🏻💖 I'm relieved that you enjoyed it; this was such a different video than what I'd normally make 🐚🏖️ Ohhh the clay design does look like waves 🌊 it was completely unintentional; I was just trying to cover all of the cracks 😂 but yes, if anyone else asks, I'll tell them I meant for it to be that way! Thank you so, so much for watching 🥰
Maddie!!! What the heck?!!! How are you so clever😄 loved this video. Something I never would have thought to do myself but so effective. Bring on more crafting videos in the future, it’s great to see! I hope the weather calms down for you soon so you can get back out there for your next shell finding adventure!
G'day Melanie 👋🏻💖 Oh gosh, thanks so much for your kind words, I'm glad you liked this little crafty episode!! Im not sure if I plan on having more crafting videos in the future, but perhaps again at the end of next year 😉 I wind down a bit around this time of year with a few less beach visits than usual, so I fill the episodes in with some wildcards (usually lower effort than this one though, it’s my break after all!!) 😮 Mel, you totally have to try some shell crafts for yourself and the kids; I think they’d find it a lot of fun, even if it’s just painting some shells with some poster paint or acrylic point. Might make a mess though, but the kiddos need things to do over the school holidays 😉 and I must say, thank you so, so much for watching such a different type of episode today 🥰 and in case I don’t say it again before Christmas: I hope you have a fantastic week next week, and welcome the new year with much fun and excitement!!
@ I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Years, Maddie. Enjoy your wind down time and enjoy all the Pud-Pud cuddles (that she’ll allow!) and time spent with family and friends. The beaches and shells will be there when you return, and so will all of us who watch you! Also, I think I’ll definitely try some shell craft with the kids these holidays. I’ll be sure to take some photos and show you☺️ Happy Holidays!🎅🏻🎄🎁🍾🪸🐚🦀
G'day Natalia 👋🏻🏖️ Ohhhh I'm so relieved that you enjoyed this odd DIY video today 🤩 I'm really glad that you enjoyed the end result...I was sure I'd be the only one to like it 😅 Thank you so, so much for watching 🥰
Heyyyyy, now I get where you were going with that idea! It turned out great Maddie! I've often thought of doing Tillandsia in shells, but I just don't get around to it. The use of the Sculpey clay and alfoil worked a treat! Thanks for putting up a video of it 😉
G’day Lauren 👋🏻🏖️ Hehe, my idea was a bit different than yours, but I think it would have turned out pretty similar in the end 😉 that’s the fun thing about being crafty; there are so many paths to get to the result we want 🤩 You totally should do something with Tillandsia in shell; you could do planters like mine, or maybe suspended terrariums in shells? I’ve seen it done with urchin shells to look like jellyfish, but I don’t think it was with tillandsia plants. Lauren, thank you so much for your encouragement and advise 🙏🏻 and thank you for watching this odd little crafting adventure 🥰
G’day Christi 👋🏻🐚 Hello to another crafter!! It’s wild that we both had similar ideas for our shell 😮 and I’m glad I could show one method of doing it 🤩 I’m glad this could help or inspire your on creativity. Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Tina 👋🏻🏖️ Oh my goodness, thank you so much!! Do you ever do any little projects with the shells you collect? I think you'd be a creative type?? Thank you so, so much for watching such a different kind of video today 🥰🥰🥰
@ShellingAdventures I do collect shells and I also use them in crafting. I would love to be on a beach somewhere just looking for shells. I make it to the beach one time a year. I want to try and go more. Thank you Maddie I really enjoy watching you shell. Keep up the great work. It's getting close to Christmas, I hope you have a very Merry Christmas.
G'day Di 👋🏻🏖️💖 Ahhh using the Dremel inside is just asking for trouble 😱 gotta be safe and smart with the DIY fun 😊 Thank you so much for your kind words, and for watching this unusual video today 🥰
@ShellingAdventures hehehe, i only made some stuff, like initial, mini Christmas tree, figurines, painting, tissue box (all made of seashells, but no big seashells 😭)
@nellyjune9828 All wonderful; you don't need big shells to create worlds of art! The small shells really lend themselves to crafts moreso than the larger ones 😀
G'day Kim 👋🏻💖 Oh my goodness, thank you so much for saying so 🙏🏻 I wasn't sure if my art style would be appealing to anyone else 😂 so I'm glad you like it! Thank you so much for watching 🥰 and have a happy holiday season 🎉
That turned out really neat. Try putting one of your big urchin tests over the tea light. I have an urchin light and it makes a cool glow through the test.
G'day Erin 👋🏻💖 Ohhh a big urchin over the tea light would be fantastic!! I'll have to try it tonight 🔥! Thank you so much for watching this odd type of video today; I know it's not quite the shelling adventure I usually make 🥰
G’day Mary Ann 👋🏻💖 Thank you, truly, for watching this odd little DIY-inspired video instead of the usual shelling adventures, it means so much 🥰 I hope you have a terrific week leading up to Christmas 🎄
You go girl you actually gave me a pretty good idea!!!!!!!!! I am making these shell trays and I was fussing over how I was gonna make a stand. I am busting out my polymer clay as well!!! you’re awesome. I don’t know someday we have just got to meet in person 👍🏼👍🏼 Maddie, I truly appreciate you doing this. I literally did not have a solution, and it was sitting on the back shelf of my brain. 😂❤🐚
G'day Roxann 👋🏻🏖️ Whoops, I never replied to all of my comments before Christmas; I'm sorry that it took me so long to circle back around to you! Thanks you so, so much for watching this odd DIY video 🤩 it wasn't for everyone, but it was a lot of fun to make a crafting video -I actually wanted to make this kind of content before I became a sheller! I'm so glad that I'm inspired you bust out the clay and try your hand at making some cool shell art 🐚! The solution was sitting in our craft draws and cupboards 😂 Thanks for watching 🥰 and Happy New Year for tonight 🎆🎉🥳
@@ShellingAdventures No worries at all! I'm so behind in catching up myself since the holidays. SO much going on...anyways, it'll settle down soon. Your clay project gave me such a great idea for a shell bowl stand! Thx SO much I even mentioned your name and your inspiration in my latest Shell Island, part 2 video where I showed a finished shell stand xoxoxo!
@ I need to catch up on your videos! I watched part 1, but not part 2 yet, I’ll need to check out your shell bowl stand! My goodness, thank you for the mention; I’m not sure if the idea warranted it, but I appreciate it so much 💖🙏🏻
@ShellingAdventures It was a really good idea, and the shape of the base was perfectly done. I wish you a great holiday and many super Shelling Adventures for next year!!!
@ShellingAdventures Changing things up occasionally is always welcome, it shows what you are doing with your lovely wonders of the sea. Thanks again for sharing your creativity 😀
G'day Starfruit Pawz 👋🏻🐚 Thank you so much 😲 this is a much different video than what I'd usually make, so I'm absolutely thrilled that you enjoyed it 🤩 Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Betty 👋🏻🐚 Ohhh thank you so much 🤩 I'm thrilled that you liked it; I'm always a little nervous about showing a crafting thing for fear that I'm the only one who enjoys it 😅 Thank you so much for watching the odd DIY video 🥰
Nice day to you maddie! Uhm, WOWZERS! any shell you find is marvelous! I don't celebrate christmas, But sea shells could be such a good christmas tree ornament!
G’day Novembah 👋🏻🏖️ I hope you having a fantastic day too ❤️ Thank you so much for your kind words! The shells do indeed make wonderful Christmas ornaments; my tree simply has shells with a small loop glued to them, and then I hang them on the tree! My goodness Novembah, thank you so much for watching a different type of shell video today 🙏🏻 I hope your end to 2024 is a fun one 🥰
Oh my goodness Annie, hello 👋🏻❤❤❤ and thank you so much for the Super Thanks!! I'm really not sure if this odd DIY video deserves such a kindness, but truly thank you. You are far too generous, and it warms my heart; I was nervous about releasing this one because it's different from the usual adventures, so I knew it wouldn't do well, but... everyone had been so supportive and encouraging, you especially!! What can I say about this one? There was a bit that happened behind the scenes, but just the usual stuff?? I tried to make that tealight fit inside of the Baler by removing and cutting away almost all of the casing; it did fit better, but the fine grit pebbles from the hardware store looked like they would get caught up in the mechanism. It was a cheapy tealight so I wasn't too worried about butchering it! The air plant (which I love and have named Francesco) was truly a last minute buddy for this project, and I only grabbed it because Bunnings had restocked it literally that day (the pallet was still bound in masking tape) for me to pick through after choosing to too-small pebbles for the tealight! Funnily enough, even after making this giftware themed inspiration video, I still haven't done my Christmas shopping... I might be in a bit of trouble!! I don't think anyone I know will want a handmade gift; my grandad just wants some scratchies~ I really need to head to the stores before the weekend though. Have you gotten everything done and ready for next Wednesday? Thank you so much for watching 🤩 and once again, thank you so much for the support with your Super Thanks ❤
@@ShellingAdventures 🤗 thanks Maddie for your lovely reply . I think your little diy shell planter has shown off a artist skill you have , this turned out really great , I recon it will inspire a lot of folks on what they can do with ‘ with no so perfect shells ‘ 🌈. I’m housesitting a big old historic friends house way down southern tass atm , so not near the beach . It’s been lovely here and relaxing . I love supporting your channel , sooo happy Xmas Maddie and I hope your weather clears up some soon 🌈🌈🐚🐚🐚
Whoa, that must be an amazing place to experience; old, historic, and in a remote part of the world!! I bet the home and the scenery surrounding it must be lovely and relaxing; I'm jealous in a way. I hope you have a fantastic week learning up to Christmas (will you be spending the day there too?), and a relaxing and enjoyable day on the 25th 🎄Once again, thank you so, so much for so much support this year 🥰

Maddie,
How beautiful. The blue and white make it look like water. How the waves are blue with white tips. The plant and the dark wood base are wonderful.
Very beautiful. Thank you for taking us along on a wonderful shell find project. To me, it is still another wonderful shelling adventure.
Have a great day, Maddie

My goodness, thank you for the mention; I’m not sure if the idea warranted it, but I appreciate it so much 💖🙏🏻
Soooooo lovely!!!!
G'day Lucy 👋🏻💖 Thank you!!! I'm relieved that you liked the end result of this odd DIY attempt 😂 I hope you have a fantastic last few days of 2024 🥰
@ShellingAdventures It was a really good idea, and the shape of the base was perfectly done. I wish you a great holiday and many super Shelling Adventures for next year!!!
Amazing job, very creative.

@ShellingAdventures Changing things up occasionally is always welcome, it shows what you are doing with your lovely wonders of the sea. Thanks again for sharing your creativity 😀
Wow it's amazing!

I like this, you are talented, Merry Christmas
G'day Deborah 👋🏻🐚 Oh my goodness, thank you so much for the kind words 😁 Merry Christmas to you as well, and a happy end to 2024 🥰

G’day Christian 👋🏻🐚 Thank you so much 🤩 I’m absolutely thrilled that you enjoyed seeing this shell planter craft 🥰
@ I’m going to use the same idea for some shells I have at home 😊 thank you for the great idea! Love the videos! Keep them coming 😍
Thanks
