Pedal commander used to throw codes and cut of power on my Infinity Fx35 that I finally took it off.. few years later am back at it now with an Escalade but this time I bought the Banks.
Thanks for making the video . I chose the banks one because of the safety features built in. I like that if something happens it goes back to stock. Thanks for showing both. I agree with u the peace of mind with the safety built in.
Thank you for doing this comparison video! I just bought a Ram Rebel 1500 and I'm loving it! Except the throttle response which is horrible. I hate that dead spot. I'm definitely choosing the Banks Pedal Monster (for safety) AND the Tuner. And... I'm setting it on Full Fry! 😂 Then I'm swapping the exhaust with short tube headers or the Borla Atak exhaust. And probably S&B cold air intake.
👍 my current daily driver is a Ram 1500.. it’s a Laramie but has the same setup as a rebel with the 3.93 rear end.. I cannot stand the dead spot at the beginning of the pedal either. Especially with the low gears because it then pulls hard.. need to order one as well I just haven’t yet.
The Banks pedal monster is cheaper than the Pedal Commander but only by 5 dollars I just bought the Banks . Banks also has a safety feature in that when you go in reverse it will go back to stock so you have more control when backing up and then go back to what ever you had it on while driving . You can also get a OD2 extension cable with a single end or a split end so you can plug two tings in the OB2 . That way you can tuck it up under the dash better . Cant wait till I get mine .
Nice. Must have come down a bit. When I bought these and tested them. The pedal monster was I believe 15-20$ more. Either way they are close. I have a high idle kit in order and a few other things I’ll be reviewing soon.
Good review man! I like the safety aspect of the banks! I’m getting ready to throw 38s on mine and was told it’ll help get some throttle back, along with the hypertech speed calibrator!
I've had both, and Banks is better. It runs smoother on my 4Runner, plus it has several safety features that pedal commander does not have. And they cost the same!
In my case (2019 BMW 330i G20), I need a very high throttle-to-pedal ratio. Like, at least 8:1 (and more like 9:1). Unfortunately, Banks is neither made for my vehicle, or would provide more than a 6:1 ratio. Still, I like the OBD feature of the Banks; the fact it can adjust throttle at very low speeds.
Had the Pedal Commander and went into limp mode once at highway speeds. Very scary when the car wouldn't go over 30 while everyone else around you is going 65+. Had to coast to the shoulder, unplug the battery and remove Pedal Commander in order to reset everything. Something you don't want to do on the side of the highway. Have had Banks for about 2 years now without issue. Like the safety features so don't even worry about having it plugged in.
@@djsthemetereman Definitely shouldn't change modes while on the pedal. With Pedal Commander mine just did it out of the blue. With Banks, I can change on the fly as long as my foot is not on the gas.
You can also get an OBD2 splitter from Banks so that you can leave the Monster plugged in and still have access to the OBD2. As far as the Commander failing, it has been shown many, many times that the car needs to be towed. Unplugging it does not remedy the situation most of the times that is fails and fries your car. Gale Banks is an absolute Professional and when he makes something, it is not only tested, but it is retested and will not be sold unless and until it has been perfected.
The pedal commander being jumpy gives the edge others don't have. Had the PC for 2 years and love it and is a must. Way easier to have and use than Banks.
I never removed it for anything such as an oil change or even when going in for warranty work but my warranty was cosmetic. It is more difficult to install yes but it is not a big deal… anyone could install either one very easily in 10-15 min… the banks just has 1 extra plug into OBD2.
You’re not giving full context. He put out that video AFTER PC trashed his product on their website and said that their product was much better than his.
Great non bias video, I was trying to decide. Now I'm going with the pedal monster. Thanks!
Bought the Banks Pedal Monster for all the reasons in your conclusion, before I saw your video! Looking forward to installing.

Love your video going to return peddle commander

You won’t regret the pedal monster 👍

I got a 2022 4Runner and I am thinking about getting pedal commander. Should I go with Banks one and don’t waste time and money on the other one.?
@@Texaslonghorns1976yes +1 for Banks

Yes that’s was my reason for ultimately going with the pedal monster. Did the same thing but no worries about it failing
I'm curious did you try to change the mode while driving I was told that would cause it to do that
That was my main reason for going banks was the built in safety features

@@Tigerwolf291 I'll be returning my PC which I just received because it appears that there are just too many problems with it
Notes/thoughts on using them with the factory modes? Eco, normal, tow, and sport
Eco and normal just felt normal not really noticeable. I don’t recall there being a towing mode.
I would Definitely go with banks more safety built on they put alot of research & development in there stuff

For sure the Banks products have never let me down

Do you have to completely remove the Banks if it goes in for service or even just a oil change?
Also, the Banks seems more difficult to install.

Are both compatible using cruise control?
Yes both work with cruise
Do you run stock emissions system?
Yes
@@avgdadgarage1982 okay thank you!

Any difference in fuel?
Nothing noticeable
U-turn on English Colony. Know the area well born and raised in Loomis
Good video
Me too. Thanks
But i got a pedal commander on my 14 ram 1500 and a cold air intake
Gale Banks gives a lot of negative chatter about the pedal commander; it's not necessary if you have a good product.
You’re not giving full context. He put out that video AFTER PC trashed his product on their website and said that their product was much better than his.
So u traded the dodge for a ford, come on maannnnnn that ram was fire
No company’s can compete with these 6.7s and they are still gettjng them better every year
The Ford is the better truck.
Wanted to try something different… prob be a dodge on the future. Never again a short bed though. Hated that about that truck. Was a good one though
Ford is the way to go
pedal commander is made in Türkiye
Dont lie Ford's aka fixed on road daily cant fry the tires no matter what you do. Junk
Ok
Peddle.commandeŕ has thief protection which I like, I can disable the throttle in app
Same with banks. You can turn off fuel in the app
