bro Im sorry but he has already done the 1931 version, why not the first sonata op 28 in D minor? imo its the heavily neglected pair of the two even though it was composed at the peak of his mature years (written along side his 2nd symphony, the Isle of dead, and the 3rd piano concerto). i feel like it's broader in scope and Rachmaninoff seems to explore and develop the material to a greater extent and with more comfort! The 2nd is great of course but after a while I don't want to hear it again. Can listen to the 1st again and again and again.

technique and dexterity yes, but memory isnt a big deal, if youve already studied enough to perform like this, its engraned in your muscle memory
