Thanks, Michelle. This is a great tip for me because my golf club isn't good about grooming the bunkers after it rains, so we frequently have to deal with hard sand.

This is very instructive. I don't recall many instructors talking about actually having the shaft more vertical and shoulders level as you did. I guess the "old method" is weight really forward and forward shaft lean.

No wonder why my ball flies 60 feet past the flag stick when I add loft to my club in hard sand... Time for way more bunker practice.

Oh Dear! Another golfer who doesn't know the difference between a chip and a pitch. She just demonstrated a "chip" shot that was actually a pitch shot. A pitch shot results from the clubhead PASSING the hands through the ball. A chip shot NEVER has the clubhead release pass the hands through impact. Very important if you are a technical student of the mechanics of a shot.
