I love how you show how little a person needs to enjoy time in the outdoors.. we think we need to spend thousands of dollars on equipment but we really need very little. I love watching you take what is in your surroundings and making it into useful tools. Your teaching us a lot.👍
You've inspired me to buy a canvas half tent and try out camping without the usual tent, thanks for the great videos and inspiration for all to do more bushcraft and enjoy nature.
Working through the older videos, lovely lot of content to work through. Love this 3 poncho setup, will have to add a third to the two I have. Trouble with Teepee style tents is if they are open and it’s raining a good portion inside gets wet, this forms a great porch/vestibule and provides more working area out of the rain or snow. Cool bow saw as well.
This is life. And love. Thank you so much Mr Swedwoods for your videos. You give very many people lots of joy and hope. And I think that people in the Nordic countries are so lucky to have a beautiful peaceful nature, a paradise I should say. Thank you so much. Happy new year.
I’ve had the same experience with a Lavvu in the rain, they do really well. One trip it rained all night and I didn’t see any water leak through. I also do not wax my lavvu or treat it with anything. Great video man.
Man, you've just surpassed countless generations of Polish grunts (including my own 25 years of civilian experience) in building a shelter out of THREE lavvu pieces (or what we call peleryna-namiot, actually, or pałatka, unoficially). My utmost respect.
Watching you try different configurations and combinations with your lavvu got me out in the back yard with mine. I think my favorite discovery was setting up 2 Russian plashpalatka in their normal A-frame configuration, but add a lavvu half to close each of the ends, or prop one plashpalatka up as an awning and have a sort of Baker style tent. I agree that waterproofing really is not needed on either one, at least so far. Great to see you out, rain and all!
Swedwoods the two cobble together as is, though I may add buttons and button loops to the plashpalatka that match up with the lavvu better. I think it will really shine hot tenting with a little wood stove, many more options on where to place the stove and run the chimney pipes plus so much room!
@@jacobtaylor4258, years back I bought a LK35 from them and check from time to time for the LK70. Right now they don't have them in any condition in stock. Anyway thank you for letting people know about military mart.uk!
Thanks! Yeah I have done a lot of different bucksaw ideas here on the channel...but this one I keep returning too. Its the best. There is a video further down where I made it...I call it the X-frame bucksaw.
Thank you yet again for another brilliant video and for taking the time and effort in making them. I don't know what it is yet, but there is something extremely enjoyable about your videos.
It was EPIC!! Thanks so much for sharing SW. truly just a great video. Putting your great Woodsman skills aside, this time we got to see some of your culinary skills again which I enjoy as well. In the past your cooking skills have been really awesome as well. Me living in Chicago and both my parents being born in Italy, I sometimes see that you cook Italian on occasion. Thanks again for sharing some great outdoor skills along with your cooking skills. ATB SW from Mike in Chicago!!
Your Fred Flintstone rod and reel are the best!.we used to use an old kane pole, worm and bobber. Love to have 1 of yours..most excellent sir from Indy! ✌💛🤘
Darn that meat and pasta looked good! Great stuff as usual. Bee takes off and transitions to a drone shot, Time lapse water shot. Lastly, the wind through the trees - one of the best sounds of nature. Thanks so very much. Lots of stuff on my mind however, for 20 minutes you took that away. Nice job
Really amazing video. It feels like putting myself on recharge and getting ready for the week. And those Bushcraft skills. Just too great. Greetings from Pakistan.
Hello brother , What a beautiful landscape you are living in...! it's a pleasure to whatch your videos i see all that i love . My travel to Sweden as been delayed , i keep a sheep flock in the mountain with my dogs . I will write to you when i will come , i would be happy to meet you . I hope summer is going well and not to hot .
An utterly nice film as ever, loved the configuration of the Lavvu with summer porch. My Lavvu leaks naughtily on one side but not the other due to density of the weave, should be able to remedy it with Fabrosil spray. Loved your edit and fire, so calming, I don't need a holiday now. thanks good friend. Harry
I like your 3 lavvu setup - must be very spacious inside, i have to try this one day. And about treating our polish "pałatka" ponchos - wax is indeed pointles but it's good to treat them with some hydrophobic substance - after that you wont have problem with leaking through the buttons or arm holes ;)
Such a wonderful video, loved it. Amazing silence and sound of nature. Want to be in kinda situation but really fear the situation of animal attack. How you did that, awesome!! And off course video shoot as well😀

Excellent setup on the Lavvu! I agree, don’t wax it, just leave it out in the rain and let dry, the best you can do for it! Outstanding video brother!

Thanks Swedwoods. I was really needing a fresh dose of sanity. Love that fishing rod and reel. That you were casting a spoon is impressive.
Thanks!!
I just love that bowsaw setup yup when I find the time I will make one if I can find the right bent wood for it...
Thanks! Or do like I did in the X-frame vid... bend it with heat over the fire!
@@Swedwoods thanks that may be what will happen to get the bends.
Very clever, the saw.
Thanks!
Now this is a much better set up, those that set up open tarps are sorely lacking !
All shelters have their time and place!

Thanks! How does that help? I mean a hole is a hole right?
Drops of water didn't stay on the surface and rain is not gathering in button holes - it kinda slides over them (i field tested this).
@@Swedwoods I've asked my friends and appears that they stitch up arm holes in one of two lavvus and then they impregnate whole thing :)
