    A quick hit with a shop vac will help remove the broken off anodes and some of the debris left inside. just hold it right over the hole for a few seconds.

    Nicely done Drew !! Awesome pace for explaining these jobs :) . Just done the same job on my F50 , but lost 3 of the anode tips in to the cooling passage :( as they broke just as you showed. Any issue with cooling on yours since you lost one into there ?

  • @Haywoodjablomie100

    I love your video's Drew keep up the great work. I've followed all your F50 video's and everything has gone smoothly, even the water pump was a piece of cake with your help.
    I'm going to do the anodes next. I assume these anodes go in to the water jacket to stop the salt water in the cooling system corroding things. So if they break off inside how and where do they come out of the engine? Not much can pass through the telltale even sand can block it, so obviously anode fragments would be bad. Or do they go in to the exhaust chamber?

    • @Cavanaugh68
      @Cavanaugh68  9 лет назад +1

      Haywoodjablomie100 The exhaust chamber is what they told me they exit through... And Thank You!

    Hi drew. Awesome videos, heaps of helpful advice. Just wondering how your motor is still going after the anode snapped off in the block?

    Adding a little grease to the grommet makes it go in easier.

    Hello, I have a problem. I started to change the anodes of my yamaha F60 four stroke 2005 engine and of the 5 4 they broke, removing them from how bad they were and the part of the anode that goes into the engine the pieces remained inside and I have no way to remove them since They fell inside and cannot be seen. What I can do ? It's no problem that they stay inside, does it affect the engine?

    • @Cavanaugh68
      @Cavanaugh68  10 месяцев назад +1

      Leave them, it is ok. They will flush out later.

    Thanks for your video, i saw your outboard was some many grease on it, it that okay? I have my old 2 stroke 115 also dirty as your video outboard, and someone told me just leave it will be ok

      Drew Cavanaugh theres brown and oil on the engine just cover on the power head is that okay?

    • @Cavanaugh68
      @Cavanaugh68  8 лет назад +1

      +Jerry Chan Oh yes okay. This is a corrosion spray I apply. It is a "wax" type of brown look, it is not oil or grease. It helps to stop rust from the saltwater spray we get here in Florida.
