Yes, that's Ren playing piano at the beginning! He also composed the music for piano and strings! He directed the video and produced the music/audio. It was recorded live but it's not quite 1 take. They had to make a single edit, before the water, for obvious reasons. Yet another incredible performance from Ren! Overall an absolute masterpiece... again! :)
How many reaction channels have you cut and paste this comment on? lol... Anyway, if you want some clarification, the piano piece at the very beginning is from the Concerto in A minor Op16 by Edvard Grieg
@@ericblair1984ish Not cut and paste, just repeated. I was on Ren's live stream and thought people would be interested in such little details, especially as the first few reactors were asking about those very details. Yes it was bleeding obvious that the immediate opening wasn't composed by Ren. Good grief, could you be any more patronising? lol :)
@@mypetcrow9873 In both his livestream, since MG3 dropped, Ren said that there was a single cut, early in the wheelchair sequence. Sam's said the same. They had to make the cut due to the 'rain machine' not working properly most the time. He probably just said 1 take without thinking, as it was meant to be. They just didn't have a choice. It's effectively 2 single-takes glued together seamlessly. 🙂
The chills and the synapse-tango whenever I watch and hear this 3rd part are indescribable! Ren did it again - this is his new MASTERPIECE...rain rain rain rain - his garden will grow hysterically historically🌱 Perfect artpiece, choreografie, symbolism, timing - the technical skills of the team and Ren's high level theatrical performance, not mentioned his BEAUTIFUL music, singing voice and lyrics - next level...and a lot of to think about....👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🩵THANK YOU, Ren
So THAT'S why the rain was so important. I couldn't figure outbwhy he was willing to sacrifice the one cut, accepting the two cut because the rain was so important. Thabks for the insight!

He’s always ahead of whatever we think we’re hearing in his music , all his songs seem so different, yet if you listen they all connect in one way or another like everything he’s ever done or will do is already written as a script with purpose, and he seems to know the ending , as he leads us along the giving us the impression that it’s just random, I think when it’s all said and done , ren will be studied and discussed for a long time ......ie hi ren ......and maybe I’ll be remembered, for doin somethin special with myself.......he’s doin it
The synapses in my brain were like fireworks on Canada Day during this whole masterpiece. I was exhausted at the end. I have been fighting against the money game my whole life and for what .. the weight has crushed the life out of me. I am thankful that Ren has a chance to wake up a couple of minds here and there and hopefully his genius can do something sucessful. True genius. 🥰🥰🥰🇨🇦
At the end - the gun didn't fire...It's the ultimate symbol of a money game (arms) and it failed. (my interpretation). I would like to believe the gun misfired and the story continued… I had to write out the next 5 years to give it a happy ending so it doesn't live in my head.
For a while I found the gun segment to be disjointed and difficult to understand. But now I feel he is leaving use viewers a lot of silence to contemplate what exactly that gun represents. Then he directly speaks of children in school while the camera focuses on the gun. All of this also functions as a transition to the end of Jimmy's story.
