I'm not a programmer but I could imagine the workload nightmare of trying to roll out a new quest while at the same time a new prayer system. I think if they are still willing to release a new prayer system in the future, they're definitely gonna need more time/man power behind the scenes.
I want a new prayer that burns hp and prayer pts which could only be used over 70%xp pts. We could also have a phoenix type of overhead for when you die you come back to life with 40%hp and a huge deff buff for 3-4 tics.
I’d rather they take their time and do it right. I wouldn’t mind while at it if they just considered a prayer overhaul. A lot of underutilized prayers, xp rate for bones is stupid. I’d love to see an entire refresh considered if adding ruinous powers would require a new skill’s level of development anyway🤷♂️
When they have to pull numbers up or down, or iterate different qualities for content in order to get aproval, they simply get stucked and move away from it.
I feel like the polling system isn’t utilized correctly. It feels like they are all pretty much questions of “should we add this?” Well of course players will say yes. The questions should be less of this type. For example, they could ask questions like “should we make abyssal demons an enemy that can be killed without a slayer task? But reduce the drop chance of a whip while off task and slightly raise while on task? Either way a new prayer system sounds sweet..they need to make it so we can use multiple books at once tho without having to change them, or maybe here’s IMO a cool idea. Make it so you have to switch back and forth between the books just like the difference spell books, BUT if you acquire and then equip an off hand spell book item, that will let you use the other prayer book until it’s not equipped anymore, and make it hard to farm for and/or expensive or something
I feel like Prayer books should only be changed at an Altar, or your Prayer 99 cape. However letting us use the God books to switch would also be interesting. I could see switching to Seren or Zaros book specifically for one raid boss that can apply poison, and switching back to normal afterwards could be an interesting niche use for both speedrunners trying to avoid poison, and people learning beginner mechanics, alike.
I just want Soul Split back. I didn't like how the devs didn't include soul split in the ruinous powers proposal because they think it would be powercreep while also ignoring the fact that we have an item in the game that will heal you passively when doing melee damage. And it's not just the devs too, lots of players also agreed that soul split would be too strong. I don't disagree with them, but I find it really weird that those people aren't also making a fuss about the better soul split that we already have in the game, the blood fury, which doesn't cost prayer points to use AND allows you to use overheads alongside it. I'm curious if people would even bother using a rebalanced version of soul split when the blood fury exists. Like, og soul split that you could flick for free and healed 20% of damage dealt I'm sure would be broken. But the devs aren't offering us OG soul split. They would 100% nerf it significantly. Imagine a more osrs appropriate version of soul split that costs 1 prayer point just to activate AND you have to sacrifice a blood shard to get 10000 soul split charges. Would ya'll use that nerfed soul split (and do you think it would still be broken?) or just continue chilling with blood fury? I'm genuinely curious. Blood fury actually heals a tiny bit less than 6% of your average damage (unless using fang) because 6% of 3 damage or less is a number smaller than 1 and gets rounded down to 0. But that's actually a lot closer to 6% average healing than a version of soul split that heals you for 6% every hit because you would need to hit a 17 to start healing for 1 hp! Which is actually a lot more hitsplats that won't provide healing so a 6% soul split wouldn't actually heal as close to 6% of your average damage. Which is crazy because soul split would be active on every hit!
@@TeZaar lol no it wouldnt, im not asking for 20% soul split so it wouldnt be too strong. If soul split healed 6% to match the average healing from blood fury it would still be worse than blood fury because a 6% soul split wouldnt heal you on hitsplats of 16 dmg or less. Consider that in the future >:)

@@TeZaar oh i am dim witted for sure, but the opposite, an amulet you can match with any prayer, is more broken because prayers are more impactful to combat than amulets are. You think being able to use an anguish with soul split is broken? Wait till you find out you can use piety AND protection prayers with a blood fury AND that using blood fury doesn't cost you prayer like soul split would AND you don't have to offtick you and your opponent's attack ticks to get blood fury heals without dropping protection prayers like you would with soul split!
I wouldn’t say irrelevant, but I hear you honestly, the prayer system IMO at the very least should be more in depth or interactive, because prayers are literally a MUST if you are fighting in PVP and practically a “must” in PVM. Or they need to make it so that if you aren’t using prayer, there is a way around it or have it be more even in PVP.
I get that you're exaggerating for effect but "basically completely irrelevant" is basically completely wrong lol. After lv43 for Protect from Melee, you still want to go further for Eagle Eye, Mystic Might, Piety, Rigour and Augury. Those last 3 are a pretty big deal and even if you ignore those prayers, going from lv43 to lv77 prayer means that your sips of prayer potion will go from restoring 17 prayer points per dose to 26 prayer points per dose. 4 doses of ppot at lv77 prayer (+104 points) is worth more than 6 doses of ppot at lv43 (+102 points). Gaining prayer levels has a huge impact on the mileage you get out of your prayer potions so the skill is still relevant after getting the protections. Otherwise though I agree with the sentiment you were trying to express. As a Soul Split enjoyer from back in the day I also feel like the current prayers leave something to be desired.

And while the prayer point ROI might be powerful it's completely and utterly boring. The ancient curses are one of the only things RS3 does better than OSRS and despite voting for our own version we got screwed.
@@gallavanting2041 yeah i agree with you 100%. The worst part is that "better in a boring way" is also part of the reason the devs scrapped the ruinous powers. It's so dumb to me that they did that because they chose to exclude soul split, leech prayers and the stat leech that turmoil had from the osrs curses proposal, then pulled a 180 and scrapped the thing because they felt like it would be boring powercreep. They removed all the interesting parts of the curses, of course all that's left is boring powercreep!!!
This just goes to show even if we 80-20 a poll we won’t get it if they don’t want to 😂
