    In the first part of the video after leaving Boden there is clearly space for an additional track on the left hand side.
    That's because there was one there in the past. Back when Haparandabanan had more traffic there was a track from Boden to a viaduct that took the track up and over the track between Boden and Narvik making thus the traffic did not have to cross each others paths.
    The passenger trains from Haparanda stopped at the track closest to the Station building in Boden, that track is now fenced off as it is used as a bypass track for trains not stopping in Boden as they come up from southern Sweden

      Well, the fence at the track closest to the station house is gone, and the passthrough track from south has always been track 2.

    Happy to see the line from Boden to Haparanda is open again.
    Years ago travelled from Gothenburg to Haparanda, had to change to a bus.
    Hated that.

      The Haparanda line has never been closed, but passenger trains stopped running on the line in year 2000, but is scheduled to start again in 2021.

      That would be nice.
      Do I remember right that the old line was largely or partly scrapped, and a new route built?
      The trip I made was around 2000, don't know exactly when.
      But, it was an unforgettable experience.

      @@hans2406 that's true, the old line between Morjärv and Haparanda is scrapped and a new line is built.

    Passenger trafic was just inaugurated on this line so it's now possible to take a direct train from Umeå and Luleå to Haparanda.

    Werter Herr! Dieses Video hat mich begeistert, es erinnert an Bergen Linie! Durch so tiefen Schnee würden unsere Lokführer in
    Österreich nicht gerne fahren! Ich habe keine Ahnung, welche Lok das ist. Kann es sein, dass sie unserer Baureihe 1044 gleicht?

      This locomotive is the same as the Austrian 1043, but it's modifyed with computers.

    There is just something magical about your video...
    I don't know if it was intentional or not, but this is reflected in other's comments.
    As a trainspotter and as well a video creator (albeit small), I have to say you might've just created the holy grail of trainspotting.
    I know it may seem odd, but your video is like none I've seen in the way that you caught the perfect weather! Snow blister. And it just looks so good, it actually makes the environment eerie, like it's some sort of white glazed gingerbread.
    Furthermore, now with this climate change debacle, I think it's in the collective subconscious a throwback to the old snow-rich winter days; and hence some comments relate your video to the warm feeling of Christmas.
    I am currently watching your video the second time, full length! And coincidence or not, I am listening in parallel to the audio column of the "Grand Budapest Hotel" movie, more precisely: ruclips.net/video/Y6AuVaBzKTE/видео.html OR ruclips.net/video/8__ehcB9BuI/видео.html
    And for some reason I attribute this association to Christmas and it makes the experience of watching your video SO much better!
    If I were to change something in your video, maybe slightly increase the contrast, but other than that; nothing.
    You did a great job, you captioned really beautiful, if not astounding landscapes that many wish to see, me included.

      Thank you for the feedback, it's nice to read.
      But I must be honest and say that I have not edit it at all (except for the text and cut out some waiting). The video is totally raw material from my GoPro Hero 4 silver. So I guess that I'm just lucky.

      @@fml42 Luck or not, I've seen your other videos and your editing and filming style are truly a potential and it is reflected in the amount of views your videos make.
      Even more, with the quality of your content, this video in particular is a visiting card for your country.
      I myself really want to visit sometime Northern Sweden, particularly Lulea and the Malmbanan rail line and this video just makes me want it even more.
      What you need is to promote these videos to groups of train enthusiasts (both Swedish and from other countries).
      I did it with one of my videos (ruclips.net/video/-OnI1KX_gEw/видео.html) and it just skyrocketed.
      You can search for facebook groups like: Tågsemester, Järnvägar förr och nu. or NOHAB.

    I am 24 minutes into the video and I don't think I have seen a signal except fo Boden Central. Lots of beeps - what is the signal system here ? Thanks, Dana

      @@fml42 I researched this and that means the signals are transmitted to the cab from infrastructure in the track.

      @@danamack7405 Correct, visual signal is not used with ERTMS, it is all digital.
      Sweden is fully converting all railroads to this system, huge cost savings and improved safety.
      Everything is visual on a screen for the driver.

      Inte ännu, men från 1:a april 2021 så börjar Norrtåg att köra persontåg till Haparanda.

    How about info on type of train, if freight what is the cargo, weight, number of wagons, length of train. Even a photo of the train so we can appreciate what is being driven.

      Tackar! Att lokföraren själv måste gå bakut längs tåget och koppla av eller till vagnar hade jag inte tänkt över. Besvärligt när det ligger mycket snö!

      The only thing I know is that the speed was 90 kph and the temperature was around -10°C.
