being stuck with a deck or a class truly is the experience of free to play hs. I have only invested in the rogue class for the 5 years ive been playing (taking breaks and not a very good player) and in some metas its really hard to have fun cause of this. I wish desenchanting card gives you more than a quarter of their values, its so painful sometimes
That's why I play on both EU and NA, gives me some variation by having a focus on different classes on each one. It goes without saying I usually open the legendaries I need for the other server.
Zilliax was nerfed so he got a full dust refund. He could then undo crafting boogeymonster to get the dust back and craft Zilliax again. He didn't lose anything
@@shadowseek27 Well, when I see people playing dumbass cards, it brings a smile to my face every time. I hope to make my opponents laugh when they see me playing the fucking BoOgEyMoNsTeR or other equally nonsense cards.
the problem of f2p hearthstone is that you start, craft cards for 1 meta deck and then the meta shifts and you are stuck with a deck that is no longer viable. even if you get refunded 1600 dust for a legendary nerf that killed your deck its not enough to make another meta one. the game is just stupidly expensive
Yup. Took it seriously for one meta. Made a sick rogue. Climbed to legend. Then could never play again after having burnt all my dust to make the deck. 😂
glad to see that HS is now very new player friendly, it used to be it's biggest flaw, i remember my brother hated the game because it was very hard to get a decent deck as a new player and stopped playing props!
I mean this had always been possible, even easy. But you couldn't use any class, it had to be Warlock, hunter, mage, druid anything with cheap aggro tools.
I think this has been my favorite of your videos. The story line was so good. And to be honest, finding yogg was one of the funniest moments Ive seen in recent time
Hey Rarran, I've been watching your content for a while, and never really comment on vids or streams, but I just wanted to let you know that this video was so well done. I remember watching the streams for this challenge, and the way you put the whole video together was incredible. Keep up the great work!
After long break (since Old Gods) i came back to HS only to get rolled by Ziliax/Reno every game, even though i was playing Plague DK that HS was giving for free. After dusting every other class cards made my weird version of Rainbow Handbuff DK to finally get legend
You know, I'd never really thought about how playing suboptimal versions of a super-popular deck would put you at a disadvantage. Everyone is teching against your strategy, but you don't necessarily have the tools you need to fight back
As someone who has played hearthstone for 4+ years, never been above diamond 3 and has recently been stuck in plat 10. This made me physically ill and i got PTSD from this video. Much love
basically the challenge i started yesterday by um making an account so far no one's able to deal with my even handlock except plague DKs and 1 paladin so i should be fine also challenge idea: HS but no core set
Had an idea for a deckbuilding challenge ripped from magic content, set drafting. Randomly choose 10 sets, each player gets to ban 1, then draft the remaining sets. Make decks out of cards in your sets and battle for content
Omg that last game with the boss music. Thank you very much for the content and giving up a little of your sanity every stream. Hope this video explodes!
The cinematics of that last game were actually really good. At first it was a jarring contrast to the rest of the video, but it would unironically be a really good editing style if done for an entire video. In most videos I have to pause each time a card is played to read what it does, but the way you slowed down on the important cards and zoomed in on the hand each time the cards in hand got buffed by your weapon made it very obvious what you were doing throughout the game and what your goal was with each card you played.
What do you mean highest rank is Legend? It's rank 25, you see clearly you don't know what the game is all about. There are 25 ranks and clearly the highest one (25) is the best rank
Man my cousin would insist that higher percentage numbers in Smash meant he was winning and would get really mad when I'd kill him at 98% while I'm at 3% and he just wouldn't accept this
@@dariopereira8922 don't you know that Glorious Guides of Darkkmane? You play Heartstone and don't know the most important video of the history of the game? Good lord, what has RUclips become?
The thing Rarran mentions about being super happy every time you can improve your deck, it really makes me miss being new to the game and creating your own list of jank
You weren't joking when you said they give you a lot of packs. I recently played for the first time since Witchwood came out and I had like 150 packs to open up, with more following because I was earning achievements while collecting new cards lol.
Having not played this game for about 9 years now, it's incredible that this is possible now. It's nice to see that the game isn't pure pay to win anymore. Hats off to you sir.
Dude thank you for making this video, I heard you weren't gonna make this one. Made me really sad dude. BUT YOU CREATED THIS VIDEO AND I WANTED IT SO BAD! As you would say WE ARE SO BACK! 🎉
I really appreciate this gameplay. RNG is also part of this game and felt happy when he got that Zilliax and Amitus. I was laughing on the Yogg part. Also F2P and looking forward to crafting this Deck. Thank you Sir!
I remember playing this F2P on launch and opening the few packs I got just to end up getting Gruul as my first legendary. It was awful back when the best decks like Handlock and Miracle rogue were filled with legendries and epics that you could never have the dust to craft but at least everyone sucked so they lose to your Murloc or Zoo Warlock deck.
Idea for a simple challenge. You randomly get a class for half a rank with no repeats. So you are forced to play each class for 5 ranks, diamond could be painful though.
Thanks for reminding me a deck doesn't have to be meta to play it. I've went back to my classy mech rogue and I don't care if anyone else is playing it or not. I love that deck
Back when I reached Legend as a F2P player, it was during season 2 (like, literally after the game launched) so most players barely knew how to play and the meta decks were mostly non-existant, so it was very easy to reach it with the most shitty deck. But now... seeing how much free stuff they give you and how basically anyone can make a top tier deck instantly, I really don't know how to feel. It's better for everyone, of course, specially new players, but I also feel is missing the "struggle" of trying to make your cool deck slowly. I guess that's something only people who have been here since beta feel.
yeah, just like Magic the Gathering. Or Chess.. Or Bridge. Or Texas Hold Em Or any other classic game with some stakes. Those games get min-maxed, nothing you can do about it. I remember the early days of Magic, when some players would refuse to play 'netdecks' I told them to specialize in Limited play (Sealed deck / Draft) because there you can brew all you want. But in constructed you need to know all the meta decks and often play them yourself if you want to get anywhere. Sure pro's come up with original new decks, but that is because they have a team of 10 players, playtesting for weeks. I never was a Seasoned Pro, but I joined such teams occasionally when I was qualified for a big tournament, I know how it works.
idk if I'm not a high enough ranking, but my all plauge death knight deck does not auto lose to warriors, I usually overwhelm them with 2/2's that I turn into 5/2s with rush, or I create a 10/10 that I can create multiple copies off while I flood their deck with plagues and fill mine with free summon on draw undead.
I loved the first like 3 years of hearthstone so much. By far one the best and most fun ive had playing a card game. I main Miracle Rogue and Freeze Mage. Also played Handlock, Control Pries, and Zoo a lot. played the others too but that was my favorites in order. I got Legend a lot but never took it serious after getting legend each month. If I could go back, I would have streamed and took the game more serious in legend rank and try and play events. Just another mistake to add to the mountain of regrets haha.
i've f2ped to legend before, my last climb stopped in diamond because my mid-cost hunter deck wasn't fun to climb with anymore, it's honestly not a bad time to climb f2p but back when I started you usually wouldn't have enough dust or high power meta cards to make a strong enough deck. it seems like that's generally been rectified though.
For the record this is the full challenge description: Reach rank Legend as a F2P player within 24 hours of playing without crafting cards but only relying on the cards from the packs given for free or bought with the in-game currency.
I play handbuff paladin but without the Yogg. The only way I ever lose is by playing the Paladin Titan, and then they Yogg mind control it. Honestly that Titan loses me more games than win
Ironic that the Zilliax was at 77.8% played and Zeddy dropped a video yesterday discussing if we should be demanding a nerf of Zilliax for being at an 82.6% play rate.
back then I had to save up every 10golds just to buy packs to catch up and climb legend. I think it's why heartstone is fun and give people motivation to play. Collecting cards is fun and I don't know why people always complaining about the F2P or P2P part. If you are good engough you can climb to high rank with budget decks, or else just be patient and collect cards until you can craft your favourite legendary. That's the most fun part of the game
