I personally find the word 'lady' irritating, it sounds too polite and 'nice' and it makes me cringe. And men only get called 'gentleman' if they behave in a certain way, but any woman can be called a 'lady', what's wrong with saying 'woman'?
haha the issue they had with the term gentleman was that its about a man being gentle. the whole point is it was desided women were already gentle and kind so a man doing it and matching this ideal was given a word so more boys would aspire to match it
