NU Pep Squad was also supposed to compete to Worlds, but pulled out. I think it's been a month since they said so. Health and safety is definitely priority.

I think the rule changes they have announced for Summit are fair, considering most gyms will have trouble putting the same team they started the season with on the mat, if Summit does happen in June. BUT, looking at the whole situation, it doesn't make sense to even think about still hosting competitions this summer. Let's just conclude the season, sucks that it was cut short, but right now we need to concentrate on getting through this health crisis. EVEN IF the situation is better by June and teams would have a few weeks to prepare, I'd rather start the new season properly and use that time to prepare for the upcoming year, than have half-assed Worlds and Summits competitions. I hope they're gonna cancel them.

I am in agreement that Cheer Worlds needs to be cancelled as public health and keeping people safe is far more important than anything else. Most major sports have totally cancelled the season, heck even the Olympics has been moved back a year and that's arguably the most prominent sporting event in existence. I also like that you raised a point about how Seniors (whether it be college, high school or cheerleading seniors) may try to hold entitlement to their events. Yes, I get it as it is a milestone moment. I myself am losing out on my Graduation from College and as the first person in my family to actually go it sucks. But I know it is necessary because there is too great a risk to public health to have anything like that go ahead. It is for the benefit of the many and not for the few as they say. Many should also consider that they are in a privileged position to be able to do cheer in the first place, as many either can't afford or don't have the opportunity to take part in the sport.

I totally agree. I got a bid to D2 Summit in the Large Senior Coed 5 division and I would LOVE to get the chance to compete again. It does break my heart but I understand that people are actually dying. If this does get better I would love to go to Summit but I don’t foresee this happening. Especially not before July with families economic issues, teams haven’t trained in at least one month, stay at home orders. I would love to go if it was safe and everyone was healthy but I want the true experience and going to a fake comp is not worth getting the virus or passing it and costing lives.

Yes worlds and summit should be cancelled! Idk why the fuck it is taking them so long to cancel it! So many teams already cancelled their season because of this which is the right thing to do. Even if worlds and summit happens, the real champs will be those teams/all stars gyms that put their athletes first and were not willing to put their health at risk for a ring
