I've been playing with the Match PP 86DSP and LOVE IT!
We've had it in our 2009 Scion xB and that's the beauty of these amps.....they offer a "universal" model that can be installed in ANY vehicle. I told someone that I was putting a Match amp in our non BMW brand and they wigged out....
"Oh nooooo....that's too much work to modify for my car or a car other that BMW!!!"
I was like take a deep breathe bruh. LOL!
It's an amp/dsp combo (a lot know I love these combos) that allows you to save on footprint area, cable purchasing and management. I would say on average, since this basically has a Helix Pro 8 channel DSP built in (same exact software), that the owner will save at least $250+ in RCA's and power wire.....and that's if they are not accustomed to very high end cables. You're only going to need a single nice run of 8 gauge OFC unless you're going over maybe 25ft....lol. So like the Stinger 8 gauge marine amp kit would be perfect for this amp.
Since this baby is just like the Helix DSP's, you get to use all the fancy toys with it like the Director, Conductor, Blue Tooth (which is one of the most musical BT modules I've ever heard), WiFi Module (For wireless tuning), so so many benefits.
And that's the universal models.
I think so many have missed out on this great product thinking that it's for BMW's ONLY.

I first bought the Helix Match kit for a VW GTI several years ago, I have been hooked ever since.I love their stuff. I have also bought Helix amps for my old BMW (96 M3). I switched it from all JL , to all Helix/Brax amps, speakers and subs...My German car deserves German equipment. Very high quality, and a different way of doing things than the Chinese brands. It is the only brand I buy..let the kids buy the cheap Chinese stuff.

Great video, I’m still holding out on getting the UP 10DSP for my X5M. I’ve heard a lot of great things though.
i had the Match UP8DSP installed today on my 2022 Lexus RX350L. WOW, its so much better than the stock amp. I also upgraded all the factory speakers to JL Audio C2's
Just installed one in my bmw i4 m50 it was super simple to install but tuning it is not simple at all.I contacted every high-end shop in Eastern NC and no one would just create a dsp file for my car.

I really appreciate factory plugs. In my Audi I went to Audi for the empty plug and VW for the correct pins (maybe vise-versa but neither sold both). Not sure why because the factory stuff will never be going back in at this point. Even installing my dad's HU this past weekend, for the radio controls I used a second adapter harness for pins to add to the first for radio controls. I just dislike cutting/splicing factory wiring. I think it has something to do with owning older cars and you never know what some clown did with the wiring.

Yeah. Convenience is usually the first chopped in this hobby. Glad to see it finally finding it's space.
there are several European companies that are doing vehicle specific harnesses for their Amp/DSPs that allow plug n play, but mostly for European cars. Audiotec Fischer(Match, Helix and Brax) are the first I have seen to come stateside, and there are not that many dealers. "ETON" is another one that is popping up in the USA, but I believe "MATCH" is cut above.
Is it necessary to have it connected to your car battery?

The amp looks to have speaker wires for an external subwoofer. The AF website says 2 ohm 2x160 rms, is this true?

What is volume level set on the factory head unit when tuning the 7BMW amp with stock speakers? My installer was saying it sounds best at 60% of the total volume (as displayed on the HU). But I find that too loud to be listening music to for a long time! Any suggestions?

For the HK system, you need to use Match up10dsp. You cant use match up7bmw because it does not have enough channels for Harman kardon system. The match up10dsp on the other hand has enough channels and superior power to OEM Harman kardon amplifier, around three times the power. If you want more details about what cables and such you need, I am happy to give you
It depend son which car with HK you have. If it doesn't use the MOST ring you can use the matchup7

I just installed this amp in my 2013 E70 X5 with the 676 hifi speaker system. A great 5 min. upgrade.
