Where do you get the clear stencil tape that peels off? How brilliant!! Also is Winsor & Newton the best paint?I use mostly Target & Walmart paint, sometimes Amazon, I get my titanium white in bulk on Amazon (it has a horse head ) extremely good but expensive. I use baking soda, texture gesso, or other medium, modge podge seems the best - the baking soda makes it grainy of course. You’re extremely talented prolly the most talented artist, teacher, & presenter. You make beginners - ppl like me able to paint. If it weren’t for your tutorials I wouldn’t be able to paint at all. All my life (even tho im an artisan) could not even draw a stick figure - I still can’t draw well and painting is hard for me it’s def not my forté. I taught myself to paint about 3 -4 years ago. I only like acrylics never oil or pastels, and I hate water coloring (although I love water color pencils & acrylic markers). For 25 years I was a Professor at university of Montevallo Alabama near Birmingham, group fitness instructor & dance choreographer. Now early retired - full time artist. Leather accessories ie journals, Sari silk, deco paper & fabric, decopague lamps, wooden boxes, small furniture ie bath caddy’s, Trays, ladders etc. Victorian, shabby chic, and steampunk decor. I love miniatures (anything) I made a Hobbit house for my best friend Stacey who loves the Hobbit there’s always inspiration behind each piece of art I create. I love acrylic painting w/ vivid colors I can blend well. I love scenery -not able to do ppl or animals although I have done galaxy art w/ sillouttes of cats and a lady holding her Lil boy (to gift to my son). My favorite colors are purples all shades esp dark, cobalt blues hues, pinks all shades, galaxy & northern lights colors. I don’t like light colors as much as vivid. Don’t use reds or orange in my paintings. My favorites are mountains, (snow is still hard for me even though I’ve studied for years) evergreen trees (i can actually do then well now. I found a mini fan brush at hobby lobby), Aurora borealis, moons & phases, lakes, lavender field, Sakura tree, 4 seasons (anything new ideas would be great it’s always the same scenes and I’m not creative enough w/ painting yet to come up w/ my own ). WHICH IS WHY YOU ARE MY FAVORITE BC NOT ONLY DO YOU TEACH WELL, EXTREMELY TALENTED, but you’re also CREATIVE!! I LOVE CREATIVITY. I THINK THAT IS THE TRUEST MARK OF AN ARTIST. Talent can be used or wasted, it can be natural (like musicians, drawing & painting) and not be that good bc they don’t use their talent to the fullest. For example I taught Zumba, Yoga Pilates, Dance Funk Hip hop and Ballet, liturgical dance at church… I could use others routines some of the fitness programs like Body Pump and Zumba are pre choreographed and you’re allowed to mix it up and make up your own but it’s discouraged bc they want you to market their music and control the moves they don’t encourage autonomy which stiffles creativity l.l Pre choreographed classes are good for 1. Programs creators want to market and make money off of 2. Instructors who can’t come up w/ their own routines - the majority dont want to, or don’t have the time or patience to firstly learn how, secondly take the time and effort to create their own dance moves. My point is that talent is one thing (a lot of ppl have great talent…) teaching it is a whole diff talent and work of art … and when you can do both you are rare and irreplaceable. So on top of being talented. Good at teaching basics w/ a high enough degree of difficulty (enjoyable for both beginners and advanced) ability to show it to be easy and present it to be Do-able (bc that’s when you gain students). The most valuable Artist/teacher still may lack the one thing that separates great from SUPERIOR… 1. CREATIVITY. 2. UNIQUENESS. *where other artists all look the same; do the same basically I would call it being lazy & apathetic. *you’ve showed me how to do things that improve my art or an easier way that looks far better. Which leads me to my 3rd assessment separating good from elite and that would be PASSION. You can tell it’s not just a job, or hobby, or popularity contest, or something you just do bc you can.., it’s actually your Passion. Like w/ my career I would have taught every class for free (ie once I gave the 300$ I made presenting a Zumba dance for a sorority party to a DJ who made my music mix sound incredible and presented lights and a show basically it made a huge difference but it was far from a necessity bc I did a good enough show already) I wanted my workout anyway I just got paid to do it plus it made fitness more enjoyable whereas I can’t push myself on my own but since I was teaching athletic and fit ppl having to push them made me push myself.
