A little bit, but much better! Pink sugar smells a little "cheap". Furthermore Aqua e Zucchero has a salty note as well. This is the interesting part of it. You smell something sweet and salty at the same time. Very unique.@@annacama8313

For me Gris Dior was a bit of head-scratcher. I got a sample from a friend and it was so rosy and beautiful and then I bought a bottle because I was so in love with the sample and it wasn't the same. Still nice, but just not blow me away. I checked the batch codes and went to the Dior counter to check if there had been a reformulation. Apparently not, but the rose harvest in 2018 was apparently so good that Dior used that rose oil for three years straight. My friend's bottle was from that harvest. Mine was late 2022 and so from a different batch of rose oil. Mystery solved but a bummer. 🤦♀️ I try not to obsess over batch codes but the difference there was stark.
Regarding Mind Games: Something I recently learned - extrait is just the concentration of the perfume oil to alcohol, it doesnt tell you the proportion of top to heart to base notes and the base and heart are the ones that count for longevity. Ive noticed this with this line overall, almost all the scent is gone from the skin in 4 hours. If not sooner
Yeah extrait just means it has between 20-40% of the concentrate of that particular fragrance...which doesnt mean it will be stronger or last longer because the oil may not be strong own it own 😊
Via Cavour 1 is on my must buy list as well. It used to be exclusive to their retail store or something, could have something to do with the "stealth" factor (Via Cavour 1 is the adress of their store in Torino AFAIK).
Totally agree with you on the Sora Doras and Narcotic Delight. Via Cavour 1 was an online and Turin store exclusive until last month - that’s why you did hear much about it. I didn’t care for Gris Dior either but the SA at the Dior boutique layered the Dior Prive Patchouli attar oil underneath Gris Dior and it was AMAZING! I don’t like many patchoulis but this was gorgeous. Having said that, I am not buying a bottle of GD they needs the additional $540/10 ml oil to go underneath it. You might be surprised by Vibrato on your skin when it gets warm outside. I’m in Houston (hot and humid) and it was amazing and not masculine.
Celeste is stunning! Especially for Spring and summer!!! It’s sweet but fresh all at the same time and I definitely get the violet and lime and raspberry! I got a 30ml decant the other day! ❤
I used to sample a lot but sometimes when a sample cost over 10$ and the fragrance is only over a 100$ or less or/and the fragrance is hard to get for example you can only get it on the brand website I might blind buy. There is definitely cases where I was happy to get sample first. Penhaligon changing constance for exemple, yes it’s delicious, but the fragrance isn’t strong and doesn’t last…. I love the bottle but I can’t justify the price point for a pretty bottle if the juice in it doesn’t last. I blind bought pdm oriana because it was said to be a dupe of love dont be shy by kilian which I love but it’s unfortunately not cruelty. Sadly oriana was a fail for me it’s too tart and almost smell like mr clean on my skin, I can make it work if I layer it with marshmallows fragrance, but at this price point I’m disappointed that I have to layer it with cheapies to love it 😂.

I like it too, but it’s also not a love even though I generally love vintage vibe fragrances. However, I wore it a couple days ago and the smell lingering on my hair the next day was heavenly. I am wearing Silky Woods Elixir today, and I love it! The projection is not amazing, but when I thought that it was only detectable close to my skin, I received a compliment from someone who was near me. I am not into florals, very sweet or girly perfumes therefore a little bit more masculine perfumes like this one are right up my alley.
Hi Jackie, i tried Celeste and Mallow and they both smelled like plastic on me... addicted vibration from Initio was a scrubber, first sniff was a slap in the face and i really tried to love it because of the notes ..so disappointed...now im afraid to try anything else from them....loved the video going to try the Montale...God bless🙏
Initio has some good ones but definitely not a safe house to blind buy from. Psychedelic love and musk therapy are my favorites. Also love atomic rose.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who found Double Attack wanting in performance! It's beautiful but it lasted for like an hour at most. I got a sample of Via Cavour and it was beautiful, although I found it just a bit like La Capitale with the fruit and caramel and oud (so redundant for me). This video was so helpful because there were a few here I've been curious about, thanks Jackie!

I’m so angry I missed the PDM sale! I’ve been dying to get Valaya (but not at full price) since last fall when I blew through my Scentbird decant 😭 I really appreciate these because it reminds me why we sample vs. blind buy! I’ve been surprised by how many fragrances look like they’d be an obsession based on the note breakdown but in reality don’t turn out to even be a like.
I tried Mallow and the orange blossom was BIG. I am going to try it one more time and see if I can get to the dry down. Via Cavour 1 is wonderful! It is on my list for a full bottle purchase.

Great video! I blind bought Celeste but it was WAYYY too sugary sweet for me. Gave me a headache every time I put it on. It's the same with Bianco Latte, I feel they are very similar with the sugary notes.
Yep, I can see how Gris Dior comes off vintagey to some ppl. Double Attack is a love for me but you are right, for an extrait it is not as strong as I was thinking it would be. Acqua is a Love yes! Its at Jomashop and it lasted forever on me also.
I like Cassilli but have never been convinced to pick one up. Can't tell you how many times I have put this in my cart.... pretty scent but others are better for the money and size of bottle. Thanks for the reviews, Jackie, many here I have been wondering about.

Hi Jackie, I got a free sample of Silky Woods Extrait from their website. Gave me a visceral reaction - the OG has a strong antiseptic bandage/ airplane toilet smell and the extrait was the OG on steroid!!! I washed it off in a minute and I have never done that!
I’m with you on certain fruit combos clashing. Like Leisure in Paradise idk what it is but my skin hates it but I’m a tropical girl and this absolutely shocked me. Idk if it’s the mixture of ingredients or the specific type of ingredients used bc not all are created equal as we know. I’m gonna try a few you named especially the Xerjoff lol.
Try soft by al rehab, it smells exactly liKe acqua e zucchero! And the performance is nearly the same! I actually tried soft before i smelled acqua e zucchero and realised, that theres no way im spending so much on the same scent🫣
Hi Jackie! Celeste is on my wishlist too. I really enjoy Mallow, but to my nose and on my skin it's quite similar to La Nuit Trésor Musc Diamant. I have a bottle of that one, so I'm not in a hurry to buy Mallow. Too bad Casili didn't work out for you. I can see how the red currant, florals and muskiness could maybe come across as peachy. I'll need to try that Xerjoff... I've really enjoyed Marbella and can't wait to wear it this spring. It's musky, fresh and peachy... But I think it's wonderful. 😊 Peach is hit or miss for me. Loooove raspberry though.
Oh my gosh! So funny you say that about Narcotic Delight - I had the exact same experience the first time I tried Side Effect. I thought I’d really like it based off the notes… instead I ended up scrubbing it off because the smell made me physically recoil. And then you mentioned you don’t like Side Effect, either - think it’s safe to say I’d probably have the same opinion as you on Narcotic Delight, too! Probably gonna pass on even trying that one 😅
Cafe Cabanel sneaks up on you. I was not impressed at first either - I wanted more coffee. Now I appreciate the restraint with the coffee note and love it - it’s high on my wish list once I finish my decant. I LOVE Mallow - wore it yesterday. Agree - candied violets 💜💜💜 feminine and dreamlike….the stuff of fairies. 🧚🏻♀️🧚🏻🧚🏻♂️ I also love Celeste, she is simply lovely. Interesting - most reviews complain about the performance of Amore Caffe!? 🤷🏼♀️ Appreciate your approach to sampling first Jackie!
Funny enough I sampled both mallow and celeste and I liked mallow but hated the other one. On my skin the violet was too strong mixed with the screechy DNA of the house had me gagging. Mallow started off so similar. Very violet heavy but the dry down on me is super raspberry sweetness and the violet disappears.
I need to retry Teo Cabanel..tried it over a year ago and didn't like it. I got burnt coffee and some sweetness. My problem was that it was too strong,,funny how we perceive them:)
Wasn’t a fan of celeste. It had a weird note in it to my nose. Ive been curious about montale and the new silky woods. Cassili is one of my favorites of all time.
I have no idea why cassili is associated with peach because I have it, I hate peach, even the fruit I don’t eat the fruit. This is Plum frangipani and vanilla

Profunun Roma is one of my favouritr brands with regard to gourmands. I love Aqua e Zucchero ...and many others. Definetely worth a try in general. Sora dora is also a disappointing brand for me. Mallow was horrible for me, Jany as well, Mandorle the same.

Someone has probably said this but Via Cavor 1 was an in-store exclusive at their original boutique in Italy (Via Cavor 1 is the address of the store). It was only recently released online! So you haven’t been living under a rock!

I loved Amor Cafe at 1st sniff too but the longer it sat there's a harsh synthetic type note pushy through and changing the fragrance to me. I'm wondering if anyone else is having the same issue.
I tried several decants from Twisted Lily and neither one lasted on my skin longer than an hour or two. Could those decants be weaker because they are old?

Oh no I love Oriana! But yes it does have a drier sheet vibe. I never bought changing Constance for that very reason. The performance was horrible 😔

Cassili was ok. Reminded me of Jimmy Choo I Want Choo. My husband said it smelled like I walked through a sneeze though so my decant had to go 😂

Yep, I can see how Gris Dior comes off vintagey to some ppl. Double Attack is a love for me but you are right, for an extrait it is not as strong as I was thinking it would be. Acqua is a Love yes! Its at Jomashop and it lasted forever on me also.

I like Cassilli but have never been convinced to pick one up. Can't tell you how many times I have put this in my cart.... pretty scent but others are better for the money and size of bottle. Thanks for the reviews, Jackie, many here I have been wondering about.

Hi Jackie, I got a free sample of Silky Woods Extrait from their website. Gave me a visceral reaction - the OG has a strong antiseptic bandage/ airplane toilet smell and the extrait was the OG on steroid!!! I washed it off in a minute and I have never done that!

I’m with you on certain fruit combos clashing. Like Leisure in Paradise idk what it is but my skin hates it but I’m a tropical girl and this absolutely shocked me. Idk if it’s the mixture of ingredients or the specific type of ingredients used bc not all are created equal as we know. I’m gonna try a few you named especially the Xerjoff lol.

Try soft by al rehab, it smells exactly liKe acqua e zucchero! And the performance is nearly the same! I actually tried soft before i smelled acqua e zucchero and realised, that theres no way im spending so much on the same scent🫣

Hi Jackie! Celeste is on my wishlist too. I really enjoy Mallow, but to my nose and on my skin it's quite similar to La Nuit Trésor Musc Diamant. I have a bottle of that one, so I'm not in a hurry to buy Mallow.

Oh my gosh! So funny you say that about Narcotic Delight - I had the exact same experience the first time I tried Side Effect. I thought I’d really like it based off the notes… instead I ended up scrubbing it off because the smell made me physically recoil. And then you mentioned you don’t like Side Effect, either - think it’s safe to say I’d probably have the same opinion as you on Narcotic Delight, too! Probably gonna pass on even trying that one 😅

Cafe Cabanel sneaks up on you. I was not impressed at first either - I wanted more coffee. Now I appreciate the restraint with the coffee note and love it - it’s high on my wish list once I finish my decant. I LOVE Mallow - wore it yesterday. Agree - candied violets 💜💜💜 feminine and dreamlike….the stuff of fairies. 🧚🏻♀️🧚🏻🧚🏻♂️ I also love Celeste, she is simply lovely. Interesting - most reviews complain about the performance of Amore Caffe!? 🤷🏼♀️ Appreciate your approach to sampling first Jackie!
To be fair, I only have a sample of Amore caffe, so idk about the performance for sure. But it did seem to be giving from the sample.
Funny enough I sampled both mallow and celeste and I liked mallow but hated the other one. On my skin the violet was too strong mixed with the screechy DNA of the house had me gagging. Mallow started off so similar. Very violet heavy but the dry down on me is super raspberry sweetness and the violet disappears.
Skin chemistry is the final note 😆
I need to retry Teo Cabanel..tried it over a year ago and didn't like it. I got burnt coffee and some sweetness. My problem was that it was too strong,,funny how we perceive them:)

Wasn’t a fan of celeste. It had a weird note in it to my nose. Ive been curious about montale and the new silky woods. Cassili is one of my favorites of all time.
I have no idea why cassili is associated with peach because I have it, I hate peach, even the fruit I don’t eat the fruit. This is Plum frangipani and vanilla

Profunun Roma is one of my favouritr brands with regard to gourmands. I love Aqua e Zucchero ...and many others. Definetely worth a try in general. Sora dora is also a disappointing brand for me. Mallow was horrible for me, Jany as well, Mandorle the same.

I loved Amor Cafe at 1st sniff too but the longer it sat there's a harsh synthetic type note pushy through and changing the fragrance to me. I'm wondering if anyone else is having the same issue.
