Are blue catfish an invasive fish or a gift to man?

    Just my opinion...but...for whatever food sources we are going to be depending on as a food source should be farmed so we can produce the maximum amount of food with the smallest amount of impact on the environment. Nature really isn't capable of sustaining the current human population on its own. Fish farms are the answer realistically. Now, as far as our public waterways...I think each body of water should be regulated and maintained individually based on the recreational and environmental needs of that area. In some bodies of water Blue Catfish are a menace and in some they are a delightful addition. Personally I'd like to see commercial fishing replaced by fish farms except in places like the James River where it can be used to control the balance. But in some places commercial fishing hurts more than any invasive species ever could.
