I don't agree with degrading people, they know what they did wrong, but getting people educated on what these commercial fishing and paylakes are doing to our catfish populations i do agree with.

Blue cats and flatheads are not farm raised fish any pay lake that has them in it were taking from public water that should be illegal period

Our government is so bloated. We are certainly overtaxed. I couldn't begin to tell you how many times they tax the same dollar. Taxed when we make it. Taxed when we save it. Taxed when we spend it.

what about making them pay (X) amount to those states fish and game services that are actively helping the fishing of that(those) states? 50,000, 100,000, 1,000,000????

if you want to make these compainies feel it ...-...confiscate and sell their equipment. with rules that do not allow friends or family to buy it back. make it difficult for them to get their bad fishing business running again. boats, nets , tackle, etc. and then sell it all openly to people who do not use businesses like theirs. personally the one statement in the rules of my state say if i am caught doing something wrong, even if i am unaware (!) the fish and game services can take all my fishing gear! think about that! its taken me 20 to 30 yrs to gather all my stuff! and they are going to take all of it! think about a business- take their boats, gear, and machines that process their illeagle fishing, and how will they be able to keep doing it? they have no income- because they have no way to catch the fish and sell them! that i believe is the best way to stop illeagle fishing. take the stuff that allows them to do wrong things.

Every paylake I've ever been to has had an abundance of bluegill for the cats to eat. I don't want to fish any lake that feeds the fish.

Absolutely the fine needs to be more than the reward by a large margin or it's just the cost of doing business. That's the only time they ever got caught so far and they've probably been doing it for years and it'll probably be years before they're caught again so ir really has to hurt.

Unless they really hammer them they will find a way to squeak out of it, they need a major fine and 5 years in jail. May sound extreme but how important is our fisheries to us outdoorsman ?
