  • BoConcept's interior designer helped Clinton find the perfect modern furniture to match his newly built, contemporary London home.
Interior Designer, Justin Coakley helped Clinton find, customise and arrange the right furniture to suit his stunning home.
Clinton Dall's newly built modernist home just outside London was inspired by Mies van der Rohe's legendary Barcelona Pavilion and it was important to Clinton that the furniture would be specifically matched to the contemporary house. The result is an expressive blue and brown colour scheme, organic forms and natural materials that perfectly complements Clinton’s extensive art collection.

The statue in the background looks like it comes alive at night

BoConcept - bought their stuff because it looks good. Of course, it fell apart within 4-5 years.

Rod Schermerhorn the chair is called "Imola Chair" by BoConcept and you're correct that it's designed to look like an Ox.

@@azurieone3002 ... but it's not an Ox. Why buy a dumbed down imitation when you can get the original from the greatest furniture designer who ever lived? A perfect house demands a perfect chair. Everything else is kitsch.

This is my favorite episode of Grand Designs. Clinton Dall is obsessed with perfection. I'm one of those few people that believe perfection is possible too. One only has to look to Vermeer or Rothko to find it. This project, however, is like a house of cards. One small mistake and the house comes crumbling down. Unfortunately for Clinton, there were one too many mistakes. For instance, the cladding on the columns do not reach the floor and the "skirting" looks dreadful. Secondly, Clinton littered the ceiling with harsh recessed lighting. Instead, the ceiling needed to be one uninterrupted plane from one end of the house to the other. The choice of art and furniture and interior colors are amateur. BoConcept's furniture may be expensive but it's closer to IKEA than to Hans Wegner or Finn Juhl. Too much went wrong with the Pavello House. Even so, I love Clinton Dall. He has a beautiful mind but he needs more time to learn. I hope he builds another home. Perfection is possible.
