No one should have been surprised by the mac truck deal got voted down. It is nowhere near what workers are needing at this moment.

And why do 'Workers' need more? Because the non needed Unions take a chunk of pay,the Biden economy sucks, which All unions endorsed the Dem policies, and voted blue, look at the 'Elites' they are hard left blue, don't give a s..t if the middle class disappears. Take a hard look at Tesla/SpaceX all non union and over 3.6M applications to work for either in 2022

BYD of China will make EV plants in Mexico. Than they can import thousands of EVs into the US through Mexico, with no tariffs. This is a serious threat to GM and Ford. 😢

Why deal with the labor issues with UAW? Mexico is a low cost and high profits alternative especially with new EV production. Tesla is in Mexico and Texas, they definitely has the cost advantage over the Big Three. The Big Three have to stop dancing with the UAW at some point. Current contract negotiation is pointing to at least doubling labor cost per hour per employee. It is really hard to justify investing any money in the automaker sector.

All these costs put on the consumer to recover for these demands. The cars will either be too expensive to buy or the losses will be so deep that the automakers go back to ICE vehicles.
Worst-case scenario they continue the EV production, generate s ton of losses, and then file for bankruptcy looking for a taxpayer funded bailout.
