ive been watching this performance for 7 years and i still get goosebumps by kellys high note on "everything" and the very end. the way she smiles and effortlessly hits those notes....shes just amazing
Kelly is there like "You are good and you are giving it all, but let me show you how it's done...", and just opens her mouth with a smile and that enormous, epic sound comes out so effortlessly... incredible to watch!
I love how big of a star Kelly Clarkson is and still remains cool and humble when she partners with upcoming singers on her own songs. Some other singers on other shows or concerts I have seen over the years somewhat looks at who is singing their song with them or don't really look at them at all while they lead. But she connects with them beautifully, even as she leads. Always consistent. And still shines bright.
Kelly's tone is so amazing! All three of their voices actually go super well together. Cassadee's is higher and definitely powerful; Terry's is lower and adds a nice male sound; and Kelly's is a bit in between, but her tone, as I said, is outstanding. Definitely one of my favorite group performances on this season!
love love LOVE me some cassidee pope but Jesus Kelly has ridiculous tone! her voice just reverberates it has no top end, no ceiling. she can do whatever she wants with it. all the ee are quite good, Terry from what I understand was under the weather at the time, but he wasn't beating cassidee after she did "over you" earlier in the season, possibly the most memorable performances in the shows history.
I'd Loveeeee to know WHY, Country Music isn't putting Cassadee Pope, or Any of Her Songs, on GAC, or Any of the Hot 20 County Countdowns, Anywhere?!!! Ms. Cassadee Pope,,Has The Best Country Voice, That's Out Now ,and Country Music Needs to do Her Justice and Put her on Their List , for the Countdown?! I mean it's Sooooooo Obvious, The Talent That Cassadee Pope Has?!! County Music Needs to do Her Right, and Wake Up?! Thank You! I love Cassadee Pope's Voice?! She is Awesome?!!! ☺😙❤💙💖👍👌👏👏👏
I was so thinking the same... but on the other hand, it was like Terry wouldn't even wanted to be there (he didn't even know the lyrics!!!)... probably a girl's song, but still... remember Justin Guarini in AI season 1 had to sing "A moment like this" and "Before your love" (poor guy)...
If you are a true artist you face challenges like this with the best attitude and willing to give the best of you even if it is not your comfort zone and most importantly have fun and convey it to the audience That's what an entertainer does.

lol funny to rewatch, Cassadee absolutely crushed Terry in this performance. In fairness though the song was more in her range than his, but this was the equivalent of a 42-0 final in the nfl.
Have to agree, he was totally out of his depth there. It’s like he didn’t understand the melody he was supposed to be singing, which would account for sounding out of sync. It sounded to me like he was out of tune. It looked like at the last second with no practice at all they just pushed him on stage to sing a song he barely knew. He looked so awkward there.
