“Long live the leadership and long sleep the sheep!”
My sarcastic way of pointing out how we as people(s) constantly allow leaders to misguide and mislead us.
In the era of fake news, we need to work harder to figure out what's truth and what's an orchestrated manipulation.
A word about words:
The literal translation of the word Na'amat in Arabic is Ostriches.
Nicknaming someone an ostrich is to signify they refuse to see the truth (leaning on the somewhat mistaken belief that ostriches hide their heads in the sand when facing danger). In addition, Na'am means Yes in Arabic, and Na'amat is used to nickname people who are Yes-men, agreeing to every move taken by someone they admire or fear. Also the word perfectly rhymed with Za'amat (leadership), which gave me the perfect phrase:
Damat El'Za'amat, Namat E'Na'amat.
However, it did not sound equally playful in English, hence the modified translation to Sheep, blindly following even the most zigzagging of shepherds.
