In general I prefer staples as they do less damage and have greater strength to hold the tension, also we use stainless steel which last very long. But usually clients prefer we use tacks to be sympathetic to the painting, also we use copper tacks and antique hand-made tacks - and sometimes we even save the original tacks and re-use them to keep the painting as close to the original as possible
You are going to get many opinions on the sound. Some want music, some want just the sounds while you are working (which can be difficult with many cuts and jumps in editing), some will want voice overs for the exact processes and thinking what you're doing, some will want subtitles of what's going on if you're aren't as proficient with scripts and microphones.
