Jan is romancing the herd to keep warm! When I was little and lived in Edmonton, I remember my scarf freezing in the shape of my face and leaving it on the classroom heat vent to thaw out by recess! Your eyelashes looked cute!
You're a pro with the Drone Neline, the Calves look happy and healthy, you need heated vests to wear in those cold days/nights, you charge them at night and are ready to put on in time for the early shifts.
I was amazed at seeing your eye lashes covered in frost from freezing just from your breath. It is currently 10 degrees Fahrenheit where I live in the States (Ohio). I am glad the AI guy finally showed up. It cracked me up to see calf #2487 trying to lick the calf beside her. I am assuming both of them are heifer calves.

Would you consider making another video concerning weaning times--how long the calves are on how much milk before being swapped to grain-- then possibly the length of time between each pen phase all the way up to shipping out or coming into the dairy barn? If it's not your trade secret of course! Same for the goats if you can't do so for the cows. Love these snapshots you so graciously give us!!

Dairy Herd Improvement, or Information. Once per month a service comes out and samples every cow's milk individually. Which gives them more accurate information on butter fat, protein and somatic cell count, then the averages that they get from their bulk tank every other day. The milk plant doesn't pay for overall milk quantity. They pay for fat and protein. The higher that they can get those numbers, the more money that they can make.
