From an outsider's perspective ... Don't worry too much. They are positioned to greatly increase new product desirability with just some minor changes. Other collectibles don't have this luxury.
Decided to sell about 75% of my collection, lost sooo much money basically half the value, even numbered ones, like ad icons, yogi bear set, all hannah barbera, ect. Its a shame but it was fun while it lasted
Great episode as always. Couldn't agree more. Funko won't go the way of the beanie baby, but they have some disconnects to the community they need to address/fix. They're a shareholder business, at the end of the day they'll find the course that makes them the most money. Whether that benefit the collector or the toy market. Either way, some won't be happy about it and some others will.
Is this weird thing because I remember funko releasing pop figures in sets that you had to collect them all, but now they don’t they just release them sort of as singles, I remember being overwhelmed, trying to find all of the pops in a series wishing that they would just do them as singles and now I look back and wish that the newer ones that are singles had sets that they were with
selling of most of my varied collections as I shift to becoming more minimal ... most items surprisingly easy to sell. My vaulted Funkos however all have zero views zero watchers. Definitely seem very dead relative to hot wheels, trading cards even old gaming magazines. Guess will throw in the yard sale pile ... sad times
Take yours off the market and help increase demand for a year or two. Everyone selling at once contributes to negative perspective and negative values.
A large collection can become overwelling and it might be nice to see what else you want to collect or narrow down buying. Collecting is about the thrill and hunt, so once you are just buying to buy, it isn't as fun for sure.
Hey buddy me being someone who collects just one line it's not so bad when it comes to Funko. Now do I think they come out with some ridiculous things and reuse molds too much I mean yes. I'm a Batman collector of course they use molds over and over and over. I mean how many times can we have a Harley Quinn with a mallet or a baseball bat it gets old. But I can say this as long as they start getting rid of some of the stuff that's not selling and they focus back on limited pieces better design and get a nice social media team like it was when we all started we'll get back to that point. But people are maturing and collecting and going to things like hot toys and designer toys. Those are out of my price range that's why I collect Funko but I mean I've been focusing more on grabbing some of the older more limited stuff for the collection instead of worrying about all the new stuff because it's all readily available. The NFPs yeah they're harder to get but they're limited pieces and I can pick them up here and there. Like I need the bane and scarecrow from the last set of dark Knight oh yeah and that Two-Face that's going to be a rough one lol. But anyway I'm rambling Hope all is well take care
true i dont see the 2019 and older grails dipping although there are a bunch that have... IE flocked tony the tiger etc. but no there not dead they just need to make better choices
I'm pretty sure Funko Pops! are not dead. I'm just beginning to get into the hobby. I like the older ones, the chases, the new ones, the store exclusives, pretty much anything. Although, I haven't gotten into anything else Funko.
Dude, it's definitely dead 😂😂😂. You don't see too many stores carrying large quantities of funko pops anymore. Our stores stopped getting them in because not many people buy them, except people over 40 😂. To the dump they go 🚽
Great video, really informative. I mostly kept My WWE and Star Wars pops,but i traded the others for other types of figures. I am gonna be more picky buying new ones. I still love Funko pops, but not gonna spend much money on them now.

I agree that funko needs to get things fixed I worried when they tied loungefly with funko I kind of think they got little in over their heads. Around $200 would be cash and I have a combination of Sheetz and Walmart gift cards that would actually come out to over $100. Probably closer to $110. So that would be $310 dollars total. This goes for collecting in general not just for FUNKO, do not overpay for a collectible. I have never done it for POPs (I paid retail for all POPS that I own except SDCC Cursed Barbossa, I paid $26.) I refuse to "Chase," any POP or collectibles. I made that mistake to a minor degree with Disney Vinylmations and watched them collapse. The industry as a whole not just FUNKO has become out of control of overproduction, over-saturation of characters and insane introduction prices. It is sad, just like the housing market, the auto industry and the education system (college/Universities). They will push it financially until it hits a brick wall and collapses.

Funko is far from dead. Until grail pops go from 100 plus to 50 bucks or less then it's nowhere near dead
