  • This little PCB is designed for the SNES FX cartridges for conversions like the Yoshi's Island hacks and Star Fox 2 or Megaman X2/X3.

Megaman Gordo This is a really old video..... yes, the Yoshi's island cart will play any of the fx games if you upgrade the sram.

I was looking to update a Yoshi Island PCB with more ram like what you have done but looking at the traces on the PCB it looks like pins 31 and 30 (OE and A10) is connected to ground or power together. Is that right? Is there anything I need to do to use all of the RAM? I don't have any FX games on me at the moment so I'm just going by images on the internet and datasheets.

Upgrade to what and why? How can I attempt to answer you question without more information?

      What? 1Mb. Why? Because.
      EDIT:
Plus what to do about address line 11 (pin 1). Included image of what I am talking about. i.imgur.com/jnRmiY2.png

Have you downloaded data sheets of both parts to compare? highly suggest that. PIN 1 is not address line A11. PIN 30 is not A10.
      start with good information first.

Are these still available to purchase or are the plans available so I can order some myself

I know this is an old video, but you adapter board is the best one I've seen looking around online. Do you sell these, or have a link to someone who is? I'm very interested in acquiring a few. If you've got an updated design since then, I'd be interested too.

I don’t really sell them, not these specific ones. Those are dinosaurs and I do have a few laying around, it’s not something I actively sell. To use them, you’d have to have other tools like a programmer, an adapter to mate with that little board, etc….
I made that when my skills were in its infancy. Now I’m more skilled and make full boards. ruclips.net/video/b9hJMpv9AZY/видео.html. Look at time index 4:20ish. Try and see it without the all-in-1 add-on pcb.
I don’t really have a video of it specifically but I could make one.
I stopped making videos a while back…. Just became a big hassle.

@@arcademaster1 Very impressive as well! I have a heating station for removing SMD chips and a programmer as well as a few on-hand chips to program. However, making PCBs myself is beyond me so I look around for things like this others have designed. If you don't have any on hand to sell for either the new or old board, do you have the schematics? I may look into a service to make me that part with your schematic and permission.

@@Dark_Jaguar you’re probably better served by going to this site.
      oshpark.com/shared_projects/vfLzRxUw or this oshpark.com/shared_projects/6Uv50SFZ
And there are more adapters there for all kinds of things.
But beware: they don’t manufacture 1.2mm thick Pcbs (which is what NES, Snes, N64, uses) so if you order a full cart pcb, it won’t fit. This is the cheapest and easiest way to get you on your way.

@@arcademaster1 For now, I'm not quite looking to get into full cart PCB stuff. That looks perfect for my needs, and thanks for providing yet another resource I was unaware of!
Edit: And now I've ordered the board and the needed parts after the creator clarified a few things for me.
