    We need more apartments in the Bay Area, period. Single family housing accounts for 50% of the land use and is simply not acceptable.

    • @holdmybeer123
      @holdmybeer123 2 года назад +1

      @@Splexsychiick How do you know where everyone wants to live? The local governments don't even allow apartments to be built delaying projects for years. You can't assume the current state of US cities is because of free choice and not bad zoning regulations. And who are you to force people to spread out? A central planner? Just allow people to build whatever type of housing and the market will speak for itself.

    I live in Daly City and this is amazing. I’m so happy to see this building built for teachers. They work so hard to teach our kids.

    Daly City is so beautiful, it’s calm like the suburbs and if you have a nice sports car ur only 5 mins away from the city 🌃

      Lol, if you have a nice car I suggest you stay away from the city unless you want your windows broken, bumper dented or wheels stolen.

    I doubt that 5 years of living there will give them enough $ for a downpayment on a house in the bay area

    If your school district has a lot of land why not build dorms for your employees.

    >1300 for 1 bdr >2300 for 2bdr. Btw, there are low income housing units across the parking lot, all of which have increased to >4000 per 1 bdr unit. The prices increase soon in these apts as well. You'll see. Theyre also demolishing Daly City's only community garden to build one of these trash apt complexes. The garden is home to over 10 percent of the urban canopy Daly city has. Dont believe everything you hear on the news. THEY ARE BUILDING THESE UNITS FOR ONE REASON AND ONE. REASON ONLY: FOR PROFIT.

      @erikh9991 2 года назад +1

      Yep, they did that down in my area of So Cal. They put in apartment buildings for college professors. The college got tired of managing the property and turned it over to the professionals. No college professors lives there now. It's all low income housing for people one step away from homelessness.

    This is also needed in all major cities throughout the U.S. for people who make less than $60k. But a one bedroom should be $900 and a three bedroom $1500; this could help alleviate the housing crisis by forbidding large corporations from purchasing and implementing rent control.

    5 years to save for a home? I feel like it’s five years of adult dorm life and then they’ll church through more teachers. I can’t imagine housing outside becoming more affordable after saving five years worth for a down payment.

      With a teacher’s salary the home they could be possibly saving for us out of state. Even 100k a year doesn’t cut it over here.

    Kinda sad they should get paid enough to be able to buy a house in a neighborhood of a city they teach in or a neighboring city ... This is the bare minimum. Government needs to treat our teachers better. Without them your children wouldn't have gotten as far as they have!!!

    Teachers are NOT under compensated. They get many more days off than other occupations, get to retire at a much younger age than most, with a high percentage of their salary continued as a lifetime pension, and very generous retirement health insurance benefits. If teachers retirement benefits were in line with other professions, their salaries would be higher. It’s either receive it now, or defer it, and receive it later. You can’t have it both ways.
    Teachers, in general, are a bunch of whiners. They promote the liberal agenda that creates the problems they complain about.
