I think what makes this game special is the fact that every match is a dog fight. In BF4, killing is too easy. You have helicopters, fast tanks, better weapons, etc. But in BF1, the guns aren't as accurate, the planes are harder to get kills with, the tanks are slow, and the melee weapons are gruesome. Not to mention the scenery of ww1, instead of modern cities and buildings. Altogether, it's a nice change of pace compared to games like BF3, BF4, and COD, it feels like they made this game at the right time.
Michael Weston The AEK-971 is much easier to use and get kills with than the Auotomatico m1918 Factory. That is what I'm talking about. Everything else you commented is pretty much what I said: the change of pace from modern times to WWI is what makes the game fun. The tanks will also be nerfed in the final version

i agree 10000% bf3 and 4 have barely any recoil. bf1, 5, and 2042 are more complex gunplay wise and have actual recoil.

I've seen Mud and Blood (the tank driver campaign) and it looked amazing. 2 hours of content in each mission and there are five missions. 10 hours of good content.

I adore the Amiens map for the fact there is so much versatility in it. because of the destruction in this game there's so many different options to do what you need to do and get where you're needs and that's why this game is so incredible. or at least 1 reason.
especially on a mode like conquest where you don't have any map restriction just the whole map

You are legit the best battlefield youtuber out there. You go into detail with stuff but you still don't drag it out to make it boring. It's like the perfect blend. One thing you could do is when you name stuff that aren't shown in the video you could put up a picture or something on the screen or even a little clip. For example when you mentioned the 3 lane thing and said that there were many other successful fps games out there that had this aswell, then you could have shown or mentioned some of those. Or when you compared Argonne Forest with Amiens you could have shown some pictures of Amiens to give people a better perspective. Just a tip that would make the videos even more enjoyable!
Both of the Sentries should be resistant to front bayonet charges. It's absolute bullshit that an enemy can somehow penetrate armor that can deflect bullets by simply thrusting a knife mounted on the front of his rifle.

This reminds me so much of band of brothers, running through the French towns against the German tanks and machine gun positions. Why wasn't this game ww2? It plays exactly like a world war 2 game.

I agree they could have easily just made this into a ww2 game and they wouldn't have to bullshit the whole historical accuracy thing. The problem with that is that the nazis were in ww2, so the game would have to essentially be censored in germany, where I guess they have laws against showing any swastikas and stuff like that... so yeah...

This map is utterly beautiful it has the detail of 19th century European cities as in assassins creed but the destruction, chaos and sound effects of battlefield. I truly love the urban maps on this game

So, my favorite map ever was probably Seine Crossing. this map definitely gives me feelings back to it. I'm excited to play more BF1!
The German voice acting in this game is superb. In Call of Duty they often get non-German speakers, and even when the speakers are native they speak in accentless, proper German. Some of the Germans in BF1 speak in slang, slur their words, talk colloquially, and I think that's perfect for immersion.
I have a 1903 IRL & im amazed by attention to detail! They even got the on/off switch & half position to remove the bolt correct!
Amiens reminds me of oldschool Battlefield maps, can't wait to play myself.
