  • Japan is COMPLETELY different in vibe from anything we've played before. We are isolationists (at least to start!) and must build a complete industry chain from scratch. Do we open our borders? Do we open other people's borders... by force? Let's find out!

    A tip for getting off bad laws (still a lot of RNG). Hire generals/admirals with moderate political views from the faction you want to change. Have them win battles or get events to raise their popularity. Exile the current political leader and the higher the general's popularity, the higher chance they come into power. If you can get a moderate or somehow a market liberal into the landowners, they wont get as bad of a negative opinion when changing laws.
    For Japan specifically, a way to cheese it is disband your military except your capital. The revolutionists can't ever win.

    • @Solus749
      @Solus749 28 дней назад

      so cheese rather than step by step push them out. You can push them ut by stengthening farming and the poorers people situation. Since you have so much selffarming and craft for own use local workshops and farms causes massive changes and lessen the landowners strength
      Also gets livingstandards up which again help in getting another party in to push out the shogunate

    A few tips for the beginning which are more or less best practices. Feel free to not read them if you want to figure out things yourself:
    One of the first researches that should be done is stock markets to improve MAPI (Market Access). This influences how much it costs to move goods from one province to another. This is also a reason why it is so important to move away from traditionalism economic system. This is especially important as you only have Hokkaido and sachalin as states with coal, iron and wood, and those not in huge quantities and nearly no population.
    As indicated, building a big building economy is important at the beginning. here are states with wood and iron important for iron frame buildings, later coal for steel as well. Hokkaido should be pushed to increase its population for a flourishing industrial center, but shikoku, kanto and tohoku should do well at the beginning, only lacking coal. Kyushu had coal, sulfur and lead, ideal for a weapons industry.
    It is also important to move people away from being subsistence farmers into workers, which also weakens the landowners. one of the best ways is to build sawmills. they only cost 200 constructions and employ 5k pops and produce resources for the economy and require goods from the market, strengthening your economy. As you need wood for construction and tools, it is an easy first stepp to industrialize. imho it is good to max them out everywhere so they can later act as a kind of subsistence farm replacement.

    • @fugitiveunknown7806
      @fugitiveunknown7806 16 дней назад

      MAPI is absolutely huge and I agree with this 100%. It's such a drain on your economy until you get it to not terrible levels.
      I usually move capital to Kanto day one and max construction there, and then build up wood/cotton to even out the building costs until the economy stabilizes, usually with around 50 construction and a neutral cashflow and steel tools and as many forests as I can stand.
      At this point I start modernizing other stuff while I tech up.... coal for steel, sulphur for paper, lead for glass, a couple unis maybe. Gov buildings only if my beuro goes negative. They really aren't worth building otherwise at the start.
      Once I'm stabilized I start setting up for iron, though I don't transition till I have railroads and condensing engines. 15 Construction in Kanto + Road Maintenence gives a very substantial boost to construction efficency, and since that's where your iron and tools are, your MAPI costs are pretty low and you can build up all the secondary industries there (the population is very impressive).
      You will seriously screw with your economy when you try and upgrade 50 construction to iron, so be prepared to raise taxes.
      I either blow up the economy or I turn it into a juggernaught.

    You can disband individual regiments - scroll down in the army window and expand the unit to see their details. Every brigade has an individual X button to disband

  • @Shinbu150
    @Shinbu150 Месяц назад +34

    I learned the hard way not to rush Admin buildings as Japan. Your tax capacity is low but most of your population is peasants anyways that barely have any money. You end up paying more in admin cost of paper than you get from them and its better to wait until they have industrial jobs to start taxing them.

    Don't stress about the taxation capacity IMO. Early on, when most of your population is peasants, you spend more money trying to tax them then you get in return. In my Japan games I don't reach full taxation capacity until I unlock the last tier of government offices.

      Pretty much good advice for any nation. Don't build admin for tax, build admin for bureaucracy. If you have to build for bureaucracy, build it where you have unmet tax cap or where your building paper mills becuase it's cheap.

    Peasant levies gives the Aristocrats extra political power so getting professional army ASAP is usually a good move!
    Also, Kansai is your capital, not Kanto, so disbanding the Kanto troops is fine!

There are literally thousands of great artists out there who he could have commissioned to draw a nice chibi, but he chose to go the problematic is-AI-copyright-theft route instead, which makes me really disappointed. Creative people should support each other when they can.

Still, even if this is the result of DALL-E's mass pick-and-mix quasi-frankensteinian sorcery, at some point there has to be one, and likely several, artist(s) who drew the elements that ended up in that chibi Quill, so I'm praising *them* for this piece of art :D
