  • The first of 4 amazing boats we get to tour this fall. Northern Marine has been building boats in Anacortes for more than 2 decades. Many of our graduates have had the privilege to work on re-fits, maintenance, and upgrades of these spectacular vessels. We always have a handful of them in town, and many of them have amazing stories - like a 1000 day circumnavigation!
We hope you enjoy this video tour and the history lesson of Bud Lemiux the founder of the company who changed his career path and followed his passion of boat building - an amazing story. We are fortunate to still have him on our T.A.C (technical advisory committee) and to stop in and visit with current students who are eager to get into this maritime career that can involve boat building, repair & maintenance, and more! Check out the Skagit Valley College two-year marine technology degree - they land some really exciting careers in maritime!
    Cheers,
    Mike
As always, if you know somebody who would be a good fit in this industry and would like the technical training, Skagit Valley College has a place for them!
