Excellent review! I keep buying Motos. I tell myself this time I'll try something new - but Motorola is always the best value for money and does everything I want it to do. So, I keep getting Motorolas. NOW it's got an OLED screen so I can see it outside in the sunshine! Happy Moto User.
Just ordered one, paid £155 for it, I was picking at first between the G54 and G84 but I didn't know if the G84 was worth £30 more but then I found out I had a 10% code which brought the price o the G84 down to £155, more or less the same price as the G54 so it was a no brainer then. Had many Moto G's in the past, most of the early ones; 1,2,3 & 4. Redmi Note 12 was slowing way down due to 4GB RAM and it feels good to be going back to Motorola again since I always loved the Moto G's for their value, functionality and stock android feel.
As always - the hardware is pretty good. However, soon after getting this phone, it was practically FORCING me to update Android, with no option of turning these update prompts off. Tech companies blackmail you into updating your phone, by threatening you saying your phone isn't secure. However, the updates are really only there for one reason - to slow your phone down and overload its processing capability, so you buy a new one in 2.5 years time. Instead of anti-virus software, we need anti-update software to stop tech companies doing this.
The fact they are pretty poor for software support and updates is the result of having too many different phones currently out and being released throughout the year. In order to be able keep churning out good spec phones they have to cut corners with the software support. Generally moto phones offer better specs for the money compared to companies like Samsung, but Samsung have far better software support. I bought a Moto g9 play a couple of years ago which only got 1 android update and a few security updates. Any glitches or software issues which I reported on the Moto forums just got brushed under the rug due to no more updates, even if they broke phone functionality.
That's the unfortunate thing with Moto, if only they provided better software support Hopefully the new trend of manufacturers supporting longer OS support will change their way
Great review, looks like a very good bang-for-buck phone. I'm upgrading my Galaxy J7 Pro and need something that can tolerate exposure to contaminants in day-to-day life while in my pocket. It's impossible to keep my phone away from dirt, dust and moisture so there's no way I can have an expensive flagship. Just need something that performs decent enough with good battery life.
It is a very good phone for the price and should be able to survive day to day life. Glad you enjoyed it and don't forget to subscribe to help the channel out 👍😁
Pretty solid review, also nice touch with the cat 😁 this would basically be my perfect phone if it had better SoC. Everything from Moto with a better one doesnt have headphone jack. I guess I need a Sony phone...
Why is all hyped about specs.? it is how a phone performs on daily use that matters. on this budget phone you get charger,sd slot,256 internal storage 😱 that would had you ripped off when buying samsung,Apple. And you dont get a charger 😡
The Moto G84 5G has a big problem. It's a sound. The outgoing volume is quite weak. Low sound power is on the speakers of the phone. Bluetooth and 3.5 jack also have Low sound. It doesn't matter how you connect any device it will play quietly. It doesn't matter via Bluetooth or a 3.5 jack you will need to turn them on almost to the maximum. Standard melodies play loudly. However, if you turn on something from RUclips or other apps, the volume is -50%. Most likely, the problem is software, but the problem has been around for six months. It seems that Motorola is not going to solve it. There are many negative reviews about this problem on the Internet and the Motorola support site.
They are both good phones, if you want a cleaner OS I suppose Motorola but the Honor is a newer phone. Check out the link for a better comparison to help you decide. nanoreview.net/en/phone-compare/motorola-moto-g84-vs-honor-90-smart👍 Also, don't forget to subscribe to help the channel out 😃

Yes, unfortunately that is true and not acceptable. The fact that with the Pixel 8 line Google will support 7 OS updates 😁. Hope that helps and don't forget to subscribe to help the channel out 😁👍
There are always pros and con with each phone. I'd go for the Samsungs as they provide better/longer software support Few links below that may help. It does wobble a bit, but if you get a case you shouldn't have any problem as it will flatten the back. Even without a case it shouldn't damage the camera lens unless you put it on a rough surface. Hope that helps and don't forget to subscribe to help the channel out 😃👍👍
Best way to check maybe to contact your country's motorola website and get the information from them directly as all regions have different variations. Hope that helps and don't forget to subscribe to help the channel out 👍😁

Looks like fantastic value for money, shame the photo and video footage doesn't look great
It is good value for what it does, unfortunately to hit the price range some compromises were made.

27/12/23 Quick update on price. The G84 is selling for £199 at Argos and Currys (UK) Bargain !
Just bought mine a few weeks ago from Argos, absolutely love it brilliant phone With amazing battery life.
In Australia it's going for AU$330 (£170) at multiple retailers! Normally we get shafted over here with expensive tech so I have zero complaints.
Yep. That's what I paid for mine from Argos. In the marvellous bright red colour!
