    Thanks to Bhavesh & Vani for having me on this video. I am really happy to see the video being well received. I wanna take another moment to remind yall to chill out, experiment and break things, and spend time with your loved ones. Test prep does not need to hijack your entire life. Prep smarter, not necessarily harder.
    Afterboards gives you all the tools / resources to hyperoptimise for smart prep. Also, if you really wanna expand principles of smart work to your entire life, check out this book called Deep Work - super cool stuff.

    Bhaiya/Didi this isn't related to the video, but could I please ask for some advice on handling self-doubt? I am a dropper from a non-math background, and at my coaching center, many students are performing exceptionally well. Some of them have already been preparing for a year or two, and I notice that the teachers tend to focus more on them. When they discuss mock test scores, I feel discouraged and, at times, inferior. It creates this mindset that perhaps I won’t be able to succeed.
    Could you please guide me on how to cope with these feelings?

    • @Dishibee
      @Dishibee 2 месяца назад +4

      Hey man, i understand how you feel. Though I wasn’t a dropper during my prep time, I’ve dealt with similar emotions at my coaching. What I can tell you is the only way you can remove the self doubt and gain actual confidence is not by anyone’s reassurances but by your own efforts. Start giving mock tests at your coaching or the ones at afterboards. When you see yourself perform and do well progressively, you won’t need anyone to reassure you and will ACTUALLY bring out good results. Hope it works out for you :)

      @manishkiru 2 месяца назад +3

      Strategy Building for SUCCESS(Vani was non-math and a Dropper) Her Experience 👇
      Mocks are key in building your exam strategy, especially in regards to "time management".
      Revisions are important but attempting mocks will boost your confidence.
      Most important strategy is rejecting questions which are not your core strength (might sound crazy, but learn how to reject!). If you want to solve easy questions, you need to go through the entire paper at least once. The easiest questions may be at the last, or in the middle, you never know!
      Rejections in 5 to 15 seconds should help you in managing time and make sure to read the entire question paper.
      Any question that you choose to attempt, decide the maximum time for that question. For us, it was 3 minutes. You may decide your own after attempting mocks.
      Attempting more mocks now will help boost your confidence. Do not lose heart if you score low in certain mock papers. That particular mock could be harder. Your mock scores are not your final scores!
      Njoy

    Hey Afterboards, what are the steps required to master a quantitative aptitude topic? And how do you recommend to revise a topic?

    • @AfterBoards
      @AfterBoards  2 месяца назад +2

      IPMAT Indore doesn't tell us the syllabus or the scope of a chapter (unlike CBSE Boards). Hence, it becomes ambiguous.
      However, we can have some 'proxy' measures for this:
      1. You can master a topic if you're able to do *all* the past-year questions of that topic: (afterboards.in/pyp)
      2. If you're able to do the Level 3 and 4 on AfterBoards practice questions.
      For revision: going through your notes, the frameworks that you wrote (on solving questions), by teaching it to someone perhaps. Plus, while attempting mocks and sectionals, you get to revise multiple sub-topics at once!

    great video, also wanted to ask- there is such an infected view about full droppers and most ipmat aspirants tend to take a partial drop. However, if i'm confident about my ability and just need more time- is a full drop really that bad of an idea?

    • @AfterBoards
      @AfterBoards  2 месяца назад +1

      It isn't a bad idea if you have emotional resilience. Most people spend 50% of their full-drop battling their emotions (fear and pessimism) than being the most effective in their preparation.
      Plus, you never know -- what if the exam doesn't go well the second time too? It is always good to have some sort of a backup too!

      We've seen people study for 2 years and not make it. We've seen people study for 2 weeks (for IPMAT) and make it.
      Time alone is not enough to tell whether you'll be able to crack it.
      What is your current base? Kitna aaraha hai mocks mai? What is your pace of learning? Lot of different factors!
      The best thing you can do is start solving mocks, see where you stand.

    • @AfterBoards
      @AfterBoards  2 месяца назад +1

      GREAT question about newspaper reading!
      Let us break it down:
      *1) Learning New Words:*
      Here's what usually happens - many pick up an editorial and just... read it. Some of us might Google a tricky word, but baad mai yaad nahi hoga, some spend hours writing it in their notebook (inefficient).
      Our brains are pretty bad at remembering one-time definitions, which is why we need to keep coming back to them.
      That's exactly why we added the "define" feature! It converts all your new words (totally personalized to YOU) into flashcards (with spaced repetition)
      *2) Retention:*
      How do you even know how much you've remembered? Many re-read the passage 3-4 times because they keep forgetting. How to fix it? Try answering some questions about what you read + write a quick summary of your own.
      Then, you also need someone to check if your summary actually makes sense (grammar check!) and includes all the important bits. That's what we help you with.
      -----
      Bottom line? Just reading the newspaper isn't enough - these extra steps might seem like work, but they're catalysts for making you into effective + efficient aspirants.

      Having the most marks in your IPMAT exam is the most important thing and takes priority. Do not get distracted by "profile building" or anything else.
      AIR 4 of Indore (in 2023) wrote "N/A" for ECAs.
      They care about your academics and your marks, primarily. Make sure this is top-notch.
      In the interview, your way of answering 11th and 12th questions will help. However, you'll have one month to prepare for the interview.
